Had a near heart attack yesterday. I was stuck in start stop traffic for 30mins and the car in front stopped just as I was looking around (my fault I know!). I threw the anchor out the window but still made contact with his tow bar. AHHHAHHH NNNNOOOO!!!! Despite the sickening sound there was hardly any damage as the 99spec front flexibility took the impact. Just a small patch of cracked paint which hopefully will be a cheap sort out. Anyway my indicators stopped working of all things. Not the bulbs as the warning lights still flashed, my main beam still goes on and so does my main flash . 1hr later they worked again!!. Now the next day they've stopped again. Presumably its a loose wire or plug or something. Any ideas as I havnt got much access to diagrams and ammeter until tomorrow when i go back to Plymouth. ohh, that doesn't sound all that healthy. I was going to suggest the same as fraser as a possibility. Does the drive come up as still being a 140gb drive? I've never seen win Xp do things quite that disastrous as part of its normal operating. For microsoft its normally a very good OS. I've got recovery software I can send you. It can read 'shadows' of old files. If a file is deleted all that normally happens is the pointer to the file is deleted. The actual data is still on the disk until it gets wrote over. Sometimes it is succesful, sometimes not. Worth a try though. It also might be corrupted tables on the disk (the pointers, so to speak), in which case the recovery should work. These are only random ideas but might be useful Dave

Wow, I can't say i would have believed that if it wasn't on video. A guy in my home town hit a car head on, somersaulted over the car and landed on his feet and walked away!!!! It was in the local rag 'luckiest man alive' etc.

Recently had the same dilemma with my old one mate. I got a loan to put a new engine in and ended up buying a new zed instead! Problem is if a car can be bought working for 4-5k then a broken one that needs 2.5k spent isn't going to be worth too much. My 1989 one had a knackered bottom end and got £1300 with BBS alloys. Head gasket problems would probably be a cheaper rebuild and yours is a newer model with leather so hopefully would be worth more. But buyers may argue that they need a new engine instead of a rebuild. There were a couple of people on here who were very interested in mine a few weeks ago but got outbid. They were going to rebuild. Maybe they'd make an offer for yours that would be worthwhile? I'll pm them about yours so they can speak to you. Dave

Anyone know where I can get a single gauge mount? I've already got 3 pillar gauges. Don't want to make my dash look like a christmas tree but, would have to pay the garage to remove one of the other gauges so I might as well Just get a single mount. Needs to be a smart one , preferably that matches the 3 pod mount. Any ideas? Cheers Dave

Excuse my suspicious nature, I've been caught out in the past and feel its the best way to be. If this car is genuine and ONLY advertised here, it seems only fair that it would be a good gesture to sign up to the club. I'm sure that a genuine good car as you describe would have no trouble selling on here, its the first place people come if they want a good one. A quick recent history search will show many people enquiring about good Zeds. Therefore cheap advertising for you that can stay as long as it needs to sell the car, not just a week in autotrader for the same price. That way people wont be immediately suspicious of you and picking holes in the sale as they are now. I've only been signed up on here a month and have already seen the same thing happen many times. That would be every month or two for me! Says it has total history, maybe its had a respray or something. Dont think I've really seen one for any more than 5k or so mind even in spankers nick.
