  1. Know where you're coming from but I'm a bit of a geek with it anyway. The 21yr Clio drivers dont generally have an ounce of common sense or experience so hopefully wont be a problem. Although there are quite a lot of MCSE's out there, there seems to be a lack of CCNA's. The people I know who employ them say they've got problems get enough of them. Remains to be seen I suppose when I get out. What you are saying will give me motivation to make sure I know more than the spotty Clio driver!
  2. Different side of the industry to me. I've been doing the network side of it for the last 4-5yrs in the forces. Had some good potential offers in the cisco sphere. Need to start getting the cv out and about.
  3. Might have to get a photoshop phot done up to decide how to do my 'big turbo conversion'.
  4. Ouch, thats not what I want to hear!! What area were you in? I've recently done my CCNA and want to continue down that path (just doing the MCSE to fill in any gaps in my current knowledge) when I leave the forces. Will be working on my CCNP next. If anyone has any more advice on this I'd be very interested. Dave
  5. I'm thinking about trying to get another and fitting a custom twin turbo setup. Thought I could extend the rear axles and hang them outside the wheels. Dave
  6. Got this turbo off ebay. Just wondering how hard it is to re-route the Zeds piping to fit it in. Thought I might put the turbo in the boot and buy 10 sets of smithy's shiny pipes to connect it. If I fill the boot with water that will help with cooling to. Might need bigger induction and exhaust to match it. Has anyone done a similar upgrade? what was the lag like?? Dave :smash:
  7. Forces arn't particuarly well paid, just often don't have any outgoings. You can go out and spend it on beer and dodgey women or you can stay in and spend it on a car. Thus I have a very fast shiny car , an intact kidney , and no life! Hopefully when I get out I'll have the same but with a life!!
  8. lol, 13995 are at JAE at the moment. Except me............... :(
  9. Isn't it strange how so many Zed owners (all performance cars in fact) are either IT or forces. Guess its fortunate I'm both! Got another microsoft exam tuesday so as you can see I'm studying hard and not spending all weekend on the forum. Dave
  10. There's always one........
  11. Keep me informed, I think there's quite a few members nearer Slough where you are picking it up. Probably more mechanical experience than me as well. If you're stuck I'll do everything I can. Dave
  12. Welcome to the club mate. Do you live near the west coast where the surf is good?! Lots of good driving roads in France, I need to take the Zed over there. Dave
  13. Can't wait till you get that car Si! Hope its as good as it looks. Dave
  14. Oh dear!!! Last year I spent two days trying to get the car started when we were staying with my missus's family. Turned out to be cause the box wasn't in gear! First time I'd had an auto. My mind was soon on other things though because the autobox died on the way home the next day and had to be trailered home. Last time I'll have one as well. Dave
  15. AA 2005 road atlas, £6.99 Glad to be helpful Dave :mac1: :x:
  16. Thats pretty bizarre!
  17. Seems a bit odd to me. If they are only stock turbos with uprated internals (presumably 360 thrust bearings) it doesnt really affect the power as the turbine and compressor are still the same size. It just affects the response ie as he says spools up quicker. I cant see the point in taking them off and BUYING ANOTHER set of turbos just to sell the car. It wouldnt be necessary to take them off to run the engine in or even to sell for that matter as it doesnt affect power (and therefore insurance). Poor advice or something dodgey if you ask me, maybe theres something I'm missing. Dave edit: he says hybrid which generally means diferent sizes, then in the questions he says stock with uprated internals? Worth checking the numbers on stock ones maybe?
  18. Don't give up hope. There's loads of people on here that will be able to help. Sure it'll be on the road again in a jiffy! Dave
  19. Good to see you mate. Happy Zedding. Dave
  20. Hang I'll ask my mate. It's all he's ever done! he says he isn't into the hassel of trying to pull for a one night stand. Not my thing......Oh whoops wrong type of whoring.
  21. Always nice to get shiny things through the post.Dave
  22. Afternoon. Try looking on Z center, they specialise in that sort of stuff. Also in the rides section there are millions. You thinking of putting one on the white car? Dave
