Must have passed you! I was leaving Weymouth on Saturday arvo feeling particuarly bad from the night before! Went up the A350. Dave
  2. Had a nice meal in the Thai in Bath last night. Thoroughly recommend it! The rest of The Country was watching the Jamie Callum concert so parkin was a nightmare as usual. Anyone see me in my shiny red Zed? Clutching at Straws Dave
  3. Compression testers are about £60. Expensive bit of kit but worth having if you are working on the car yourself. Especially for people like me who try replacing turbos before doing it and then realise its a fooked engine!! Hopefully the garage will tell you. I con't remember what the actually compression should be but basically you are looking for one or more cylinders with a significantly lower (maybe 20%?) compression than the others. This would be a knackered piston or rings. Dave
  4. Chuffed to bits for you mate! Sorry I couldnt come and look but really glad others did. Let us know when you pick it up, maybe we could meet up on the way back or something. I'll probably be in the m5/m4 junction area. Guess you'll be keeping the veilside then?! Dave
  5. What conditions is it smoking in mate? on idle, on revs, on startup?
  6. Dropped in on Neil today to pick some cash for a turbo timer I'd sent and he helped me sort my intermittant indicators. Turned out that my hazard switch had broke its fitting and wouldnt go completely off all the time and so the indicators werent working. Such a silly little thing causing me grief. He even let me eat his daughters birthday sausage rolls (I'd been driving all afternoon and hadn't eaten after a hard nights partying!). Many thanks mate Dave

Don't know what it is per gallon (can't remember how many litres to a gallon!) but I consistantly pay £1 per 5 miles. Probably 50-50 hard driving and taking it easy. The fuel economy is a lot better in this Zed than my last. This one has the apexi air fuel computer which makes quite a difference in improving economy. Dave
  8. Purple power to the rescue!!! da dah :hyper: :hyper:
  9. Just been trying to sus this out. Am I right in thinking that the thread is on the caliper? So I only have to drill the hub carriers and don't need to rethread them? Is it a full take off the hub assembly job then and not drill it on the car? how hard is it to do this. Thanks all Dave
  10. How much of a job is it doing the drilling? What do you think of the other method; inserting bits into the holes to make them smaller?
  11. I must say, they do look awesome. Gonna have to do it I reckon. Hope I can find someone either drill the rotors or to adjust the caliper holes. Dave
  12. Just confirmed it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/541609/3 Seems the bolts are bigger on skyline. This guy gets his rotors drilled. But also shows a picture with inserts to bring the hole size down. This makes more sense to me. Any ideas anyone? Dave
  13. Can someone give some advice on this as I was set to put a deposit on these. Do R34 complete set (Calipers, discs, pads) fit on the 300?? If not what can you do to make them fit? Please reply ASAP, Dave
  14. Where's the bl**dy add button??! I'm going blind... WWWWOOOOWW I can see again.......................... :mac1: :nelson:

Hello dude. Welcome to the site. Dave
  16. Mate ,you're a star. I got the Zed ones from the service manual just a moment ago (forgot all about it earlier) and have been trying to find the r34 ones. The Zed discs are 280mm and the r34 are 324. Are there extra fittings or something with these? I am right in thinking they are a straight fit onto the Zed arn't I? Dave
  17. Helps with braking and cooling because the pads are being applied over a greater area (due to large diameter) there is more braking pressure applied and more time for disc to cool. I think you may need bigger calipers to cope with bigger diameter discs (different angle/curve) although I have seen kits to take the standard calipers furthur out. I doubt these work as well though because the curve in the caliper will be tighter than the disc and therefore less contact with the disc..... I guess. Dave
  18. Just a quickie, hopefully someone can answer. What are the sizes for the standard discs on the 300zxTT and what are the sizes for the standard discs on an r34 gtr? Possibly got some r34 brembos on the way, want to know if they are any bigger than the standard ones. I'm sure the performance will be much better. Dave :hyper: :hyper:
  19. Looks great mate. Good on you for having the balls to be a little different as well. Lovely car. Dave
  20. I like the look of those mate. Nice work. Dave
  21. You can tee off the driver side, rear of the plenum, the vacuum tubes that come off of the balance bar if I remember rightly. Anyway that is measuring the pressure in the plenum does the job. If you do a search either here or on twinturbo.net you'll find an FAQ for it as its a common question. Dave
  22. Its a metal adapter that goes as described for the sensors to screw into. That will do oil pressure and oil temp, Chris Greddy does them (about £60ish iirc), but phone him to make sure they are actually in stock. Coolant temp sensor goes in the top front pipe next to the oem one. You can buy adapters for these as well, cant remember price ask Chris if you speak to him. You can fit them blue peter styley but these bits make it a lot easier and less hassle. Dave
  23. pm'd you mate Dave
  24. I've got an adapter plate to go under the sump and above the filter that takes the sensors (don't get an ac autotec one by the way, they don't fit). Dave
