  1. Bloody 'ell! in that time you could have taken it off and polished it!!
  2. Maybe you should consider taking it down to a specialist now that it's driving? at least if it plays up any more. There are systems on the car that adjust to keep the car running smoothly at low revs (Auxillary Air Valve? maybe, can't remember off hand). Someone like Ryan at Ztech or the Zen Garage would probably have a good idea straight away. Dave
  3. Not that bad, plenty of links there, slowly growing?
  4. Without meaning to confuse you there is another thought on the standard/modded question that is always on the mind of new buyers. I personally agree with this: If you buy a good car that already has any of the mods you are thinking about, you then have the money you might have used to repair or mod a standard car still left to service or repair the already modded car. Modding the car can cost thousands, but buying an already completely modded to a high standard car isn't much more than buying a standard one. Even if the engine blew the next day , you'd still have many thousands of pounds worth of mods and just need a new engine fitted (albeit the worst case scenario). It is a common misconception that anything modified is putting the engine under stress and therefore its more likely to die prematurely. This is not the case. All the lower stage mods such as exhaust and induction just open the engine up to its potential, plus you've got alloys and other shiney bits. It's only when you start upping the boost that the engine is put under stress and you need to be wary that it was done properly (boost jets in particular are suspect here, boost computers are always preferable). On the other hand a standard car (average maybe 70k for a 90-92 Zed) will need to have had a cam belt change, the turbos will need reconditioning, if its auto it could be on its way out, exhaust may need changing, prop shaft, etc, etc. Again this is the extreme, but worth keeping in mind. You just have to find one thats been obviously loved, then whether it's standard or modded it will be good.
  5. Try to test drive both defore deciding. It's quite a difference speed /acceleration wise between the Naturally Asparated (NA/non turbo) and the Twin Turbo. However the NA engine is under a lot less stress and therefore less likely to have problems. If possible try to get one thats already had the work done on it. ie New or reconditioned turbos, gearbox (auto's are prone to dying around 80k but many last a lot longer if they havn't been abused. Manuals are generally considered a better 'drivers car' as with any car and cheaper to sort a clutch than an auto box). An aftermarket exhaust is always a good thing as its one of the first mods you might want to do, and combined with uprated induction will give you some more power. Make the effort to drive as many as you can before deciding as then you will know what a good one is like and what a bad one is like. Don't get seduced by the first one you see unless it really is very good. Good luck, you won't be dissapointed when you get a good one! Dave
  6. Very nice. Esp like the front and back pieces. Dave
  7. I can see a photoshop potential there! Great tatoo by the way. Dave
  8. Get one like mine!
  9. pmsl, oh well. At least you get to drive in a Zed. Nowt wrong with that!
  10. Its a great place to live. I lived there for a couple of years about 6yrs ago. About the only city that I'd be happy to settle in (from Cornwall so I like my country oohaarr). Its only 10-15 miles from us now so we reguarly go to the Thai there. Its one of the best Thai's that I've been to and it's my favourite kind of food.
  11. Just out of interest but how does the insurance company know how many miles? mine didn't ask for the milage.
  12. Woke up and went for a swim in the sea. I just had a nice bowl of cereal, now I'm going to drink a cup of Dowe Egberts Medium Roast Coffee. Mmmmmmmm. Dave
  13. There's one in mine working alongside an afc. Love the way the car is set up on them. Havn't really got round any features mind, it just runs really well as it is. Might read the instructions sometime! Its got the overtake button and all that but I don't use it as it flies anyhow. Dave
  14. Will the car cook a too small battery because its drawing too much through it and it can't cope or something ? Only ask because a mate was asking me earlier the same question and I didn't know the answer. Dave
  15. I reckon you'll decide you like them! You just know your gonna be seduced by shiny bits, starting with that exhaust and then the pedals.........Lol. Then you'll be buying go faster, harder for longer bits......all downhill form here Si!!
  16. Thanks for that vid, very impressed. Especially that he's able to do it in and out of all those cones while going round the track; shows amazing control.Dave
  17. 'attention posts' You what???
  18. That bloody great shot gun is gonna send you flying backwards bud! My eye sees a trained shot though, resting the front on your hand instead of grabbing it. Like the style mate. Dave (30 working and jealous!)
  19. Its the only end people see of my Zed mind........teeheehehehehehe hahahah. I'm so funny I should be on a stage. There's my taxi now....
  20. Hope you arn't the guy on the left. I'd be worried about anyone who considers an arse end there best side for people to look at!!! Dave
  21. Love it mate. I was going to go for one but it was right at the limit of how much loan I was prepared to get (LOL, my mate payed 10k for a bloody new vauxhall Astra so figured I'd see what I could get for the same price but double the speed). After thinking about it for a few days decided to either rebuild my Zed or look what ones were about so I would have money left to mod it or for emergencies, oh and pay off the overdraft. Why do I always work in pretend money?? Gonna have to get one some time, and an rx7, and a ferrari, and.............
  22. Bath or shower every morning to make me smell like sweet rosies and not sweet stale sweat from the nights sleep + to wake me up. Maybe a bath in the evening to relax.
  23. Yeah, smashing thai fishcakes! and sizzling white wine sizzled chicken with chillis and stuff. HHHHmmmmm my favourite!
