  1. This weekend I hoped to get both turbos on and adjust the suspension so the car is not 2inches from the ground. Suspension adjusted being new was easy. Turbos well the passenger side fitted fine Drivers side just would not line up with the wastgate on, hitting the exhaust and that was that, scratching my head did not work either and kicking myself I left the old wastgate at home. Well home and put the new and old together and the bracket is a sort of mirror image not the same. They are meant to be upgraded OEM got them from Z1. At least I know now and can rectify the problem. Looks like I need some core plugs will change a few.
  2. Those type of clips are a real pain, had some on the side bracket on the engine, if you hold the plastic connector angle it upwards it will just give the underside enough room to slide off, while holding the bracket. Some have no access to the underside.
  3. After taking the turbos and pipes home this week and after a lot more cleaning, I finally got to my friends today to put them together, problem being I needed someone to hold the casing while inserting the circlip, it is so strong the pliers kept coming off. The other turbo we put the circlip on but I had forgotten one of the bolts so only half done but the circlip was my main problem. Tomorrow I will get the exhaust manifolds on and the rest of the pipe work sorted, ready for the final install (I hope). I think the work involved rebuilding turbos, even with a new cartridge I found hard, the cleaning etc. I could not have afforded new turbos and have saved myself half the price of new standard ones, but if I had the option would not have put myself in a position of this much work.
  4. They only have a few bits left, cars gone now.
  5. OMG maybe it’s still there.
  6. That’s the one I had in the 1995 green car I smashed.
  7. That’s a real shame I feel your pain, glad your wife and dog are ok. You will have to see what the insurance company want to do, before making a decision.
  8. RIP, I have a single picture disk of drive somewhere.
  9. Happy Birthday :happybday:
  10. Z1 upgraded OEM wastegates. Garrett Turbo UPGRADE 360 Race bearing Pre balanced core and housing.
  11. Still need a bit of cleaning but on the final stages now.
  12. Today I fitted the timing belt. Back of engine tidied up EGR deleted, when the turbos are rebuilt I will be plumbing the water pipes directly to inlet-outlet pipes.
  13. Before I took my engine out I wanted to drain the block to minimise the mess, found a bolt when I removed the alternator a lot of water came out can’t catch it all with engine in but did the trick. Third bolt down in front of the engine mount nearest sump on the drivers side, was extremely tight.
  14. You would not expect that to happen.
  15. While I have been cleaning the sump and putting the oil pump and rear crank seal in, my dear friend has been cleaning the engine bay.
  16. Happy Birthday :happybday:
  17. I watched a car show on Turbo tonight called JDM Legends, they were finishing a 240z for someone and converted it to 3 Webber carbs, the problem was they were above the exhaust so he made a stainless steel panel to go under the carbs and covered the bottom in gold tape, he said if NASA use it it must be good.
  18. I just stripped both and copied the configuration, made 1 mistake but sorted that. And put it under nose panel .
  19. You need to know if any ecu error codes.
  20. Happy Birthday :happybday:
