  1. I always understood it that LED bulbs required a special lens to produce the required light output. Simply putting one in a halogen or projector housing wouldn't necessarily have the desired results. I'm always open to be being proven wrong, but that's what I understood.
  2. We were actually going to have a ride to yours this afternoon, mate. We got the 350Z Roadster parked on the drive, walked the dogs and then washed the cars as the weather was so nice, hence the thoughts of getting the targas off and heading out for a visit. :) The temperature dropped by the time we finished though, so we just turned the heating up and hit the couch instead! Soon though, matey....
  3. Spectacular choice of words there! :thumbup1:
  4. Oh Mandy... this is beyond awful news!!! I've only met you briefly at TOTB a couple of years ago, but I've seen everything you've contributed here and, of course, the beautiful Zebedee... just don't know what to say!!! So so so sorry to hear this... :( :(
  5. I'm about 20 odd miles south of Newcastle, mate :)
  6. Was the other question something like "Ok... why have I got two aerials...??"
  7. I think they came out of the one Ian Greenfield posted about a few months back.
  8. Right, a quick Google image search has brought up this picture: As that is the fitting kit supplied with CZP's big SMIC kit, I'm presuming that I should be able to use two 2" ID pipes with a 45 degree bend and two 2" ID straight pipes. Thoughts...?
  9. To do that though, I need access to the stock couplers. Which are on the car, hidden behind the front bumper. And, as her sister is currently using the daily Golf, that means the Zed is my only transport... and I can't pull the front end apart to look at these pipes while I need to drive her... Snookered! Let's see if Google can be my friend here....
  10. Ok, further to this query: there's nowhere in the UK that can supply them off the shelf. SFS have said they're willing to look into reproducing a set in silicone, but I haven't sourced a spare set of OEM ones to send them yet... I was speaking to Luke at Z Centre last night about why these aren't available over here and he reckons that the bends in the stock couplers are so slight that buying straight silicone hose and simply bending them into shape would be fine and cause no problems or restrictions. Thoughts on the above please! Has anyone here replaced the stock couplers this way...? And just to clarify: I'm on about the couplers that attach to the inlets and outlets on the SMICs (hidden behind the front bumper), NOT the intake hoses under the bonnet. :)
  11. Always happy to help another Zed look her best :thumbup1:
  12. Interiors are my area of specialisation, yeah. :)
  13. Mate, you have my absolute sympathies here as you already know. My "condition" cost me my career as a civil servant, but I was very fortunate to have something I could fall back on. If you want to go the self-employed route, you need to build your portfolio (as it were) and get your name known. Most of my business is based on recommendation, rather than outright advertising. The immediate problem comes from having bills to pay and, in your case, mouthes to feed in the meantime! But if there's any way you can build your presence up and get your name known as a provider of a quality service at a competitive price, then take it and that's your first step on the road to, hopefully, success! :) I think you've had a far rougher time of things than I have, Russ... it's only when you understand what someone has to live with that you can truly get a grasp of how difficult and desperate it can be at times... as ever, if I can help then you know where to find me!
  14. Pretty sure I've got jack/xlr leads here if you need to borrow some, mate :) I haven't got the time (or the voice now!) to be making my own music anymore, sadly... :(
  15. Mail order seat covers, right?
  16. This is what I have: Along with a wealth of mics, amps, instruments and the aforementioned Cubase and also a pretty robust drum machine program!
  17. I've got a full home studio setup here, including Cubase - it's what I used when I was functioning as "a band" with me as the only member!
  18. I've just been reading through his Gumtree ad and I'm sure he's lifted most of the text straight from the eBay ad! Height of laziness! So he wants to make about £8k profit for, frankly, pretty much no work whatsoever...? I'm all for a bit of industriousness, but this guy......
  19. I wish I had the balls to charge £1200 just to trim the interior panels...!!!
  20. Cracking news, mate!! :thumbup1: All your hard work's starting to pay off now!
  21. They do indeed (or did) because my Recaros are fitted using the genuine Z32-specific rails :)
  22. There's usually a couple of Recaro subframes on eBay - think they'd be coming from Japan. They'd be the easiest route to take, I reckon. :)
  23. What did I do to my Zed today? I gave her a good wash. Then, inspired by having a bit of a blast in Tom's yesterday, I took the roof off, gave her a nice drink of super unleaded and went for a bit of a blast in the sunshine! :thumbup1: Very rapid, grippy and waaaaay too much fun! God, I love my Shortie!! :D
  24. Z Centre sell new rear arches and rear inner and outer sill sections, mate.
  25. At least it fits both Z31s and Z32s right out of the box..... :sorcerer:
