  1. This is good news, Tom. Sounds you're now perfectly experienced to assist me with a plenum swap!! :thumbup1: Glad to hear she's back up to speed, buddy. :)
  2. Professional install, my arse! The bit that upset me the most was that someone had cut the dash internals out where the stereo brackets bolt to, so I had to stick with a rubbish cage which never quite held the head units properly :( I'd be tempted to either tear it all out and start again, or try and revert everything back to the stock wiring, mate.
  3. The Recaros in mine are lovely (I absolutely swear by Recaro seats!), very light in comparison to the stock electric ones, but finding genuine frames could be tough. That said, there's usually one or two frames on eBay...
  4. I've learned how to drive it - 16mph tonight!!
  5. Maximum speed coming home from Hartlepool: 16mph. I can absolutely confirm that Zeds are NOT a winter car in any way... and mine even has winter tyres on!!! Scariest journey I've done in a lot of years, that one. But happy to help a mate out :) Now... about that favour you owe me, Lexx...
  6. I'm a bit late to this party, I know... but that audio wiring's shocking!! When I bought this car, it was advertised as having had "a professional, fully upgraded audio install" - you could imagine my surprise when I saw the car in person and found that the new front speaker wires weren't running through the sheath between door and bodywork, but instead were simply trapped by the door when it was shut! Only one speaker worked at the time of purchase too. Once I got her home, I pulled the head unit to see if I could find out why and promptly shat myself at the state of the "professional wiring" behind it!! I managed to get all four speakers working eventually, but it was a struggle. I did away with the "upgraded" wiring for the fronts and just used the stock loom. But yeah, "professional install"... seriously....
  7. Does this mean I don't need to bring any tools on Sunday then...? ;)
  8. A small change today, but a nice one (I think). I wanted something a little different to either the OEM red or the clear side markers, so I ordered a smoked pair from the US of A. :) They've been sat doing nothing for a couple of weeks so I decided to get them fitted and wired in today. Off: On: I like 'em! :D
  9. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator/gauge that I have no use for. It appears to be an aluminium body, anodised in blue. Pressure adjustment is presumably controlled by the Allen screw on the top. Doesn't look as if it's been used for very long, if at all! £15 delivered?
  10. I've got a pair of clear rear side markers that I no longer need - these have the cutout for a 2-lug bulb holder so you can illuminate them should you wish to. They're nice and clean and also diffused (like the OEM ones) so LEDs should look good behind them. :) £19 including delivery, anyone?
  11. What are peoples' thoughts on this new Terraclean system that is being used all over the country? Do we think it could be worthwhile on our VG engines? Or is it something that could damage 20-odd year old seals and components...?
  12. I now have everything I need to sort out the lighting for my side markers - are there any holes already in the boot floor for me to run my wires up to the loom on the rear lights, or am I gonna have to fire up a drilll...??
  13. But why should people only be choosing to attend one show in the year...? Do some of our members lavish thousands of pounds on their beloved Zeds to only show them off in September?
  14. As per the title, have we (as a club) ever considered having a stand at Japs North at all? For anyone who's not familiar with it, it's a one day show held at Thoresby Park in Notts, usually in July. There are plenty of clubs in attendance, such as Celica Club, the GTO Owners, various classic Ford clubs. I've gone the last couple of years and, last year, there was only me and one other Zed there! There's various awards to be won (Show & Shine, etc) and it's a good little day :) Any thoughts from anyone? Not sure if this is in the right place - Notts is classed as the Midlands, right? - but feel free to shunt it around if need be. :)
  15. I'm assuming we'll be able to accomodate Fran's Celica somewhere, right....?
  16. 1. Gary Wilson and Lee Wilson 2. Mondo and Mrs Mondo (and 2 dogs and, most likely, 2 cars!!)
  17. If nothing else, we can be fairly sure the seller hasn't insured it correctly if he's trying to convince potential buyers that they don't need to disclose mods he's fitted himself!
  18. Welcome. It sounds to me as if the seller's chatting a bit of nonsense, to be honest! I'm going to say it's a standard Zed that's been modified... I'm sure someone will be along shortly to back me up on this one..... EDIT! The seller even states in the ad that he fitted all of the parts himself! So you'd DEFINITELY need to declare each and every one of them. But (in my opinion) if he's prepared to lie so blatantly about the car's history to you, I'd be turning on my heel and strolling away....
  19. If there's a GB for Twinz stuff in the offing, then I want in please :)
  20. I think the bits I like most of all in there is the assumption that people only have the money spare to fit "loud exhausts" if they don't own their own property. I mean, it's not as if renting privately generally costs more than a mortgage or anything!! There are some true warriors on that page. "David" in his £2.6million house who challenges anyone to have a loud exhaust near it... the person who says they don't mind "supercars" being loud but objects to a noisy Civic... the woman who says she's set up bloody roadblocks in order to limit someone's driving... Honestly, what muppets! My Zed is reasonably loud, but I don't rev it up on the drive and I tend not to drive it late at night (this last part may well change in the summer though). I have young children next door, next door to them and across the road from me. Is anyone going to complain about my Zed? No. Why? Because one of the occupants next door has an MG ZR with a loud exhaust on, next door to them had an Evo 6 til recently and the guy across the road has a huge box-van that's stupidly noisy and he has to leave for work at daft o'clock in a morning!! I hate people who have nothing better to do with their lives than find something to complain about, I truly do.
  21. Oops, my bad - her other one was K300 EDS! Sorry!!
  22. I've decided I don't want to change the 89 Spec front bumper on my Shortie now, so this 99 Spec's up for sale :) Genuine Nissan, so made of urethane. In superb condition except for some surface scuffs to the underside of the bottom edge (as pictured). These don't detract from the finish of the bumper, however, as they're on the underside. Comes complete with genuine indicator units with bulbs, holders screws and looms - the indicators are also in superb condition, as can be seen in the pictures. Looking for £300 for the lot, plus delivery if required.
  23. I have a pair of larger SMICs here that'll be getting fitted in the new year. I assume I should renew the flexible couplers on both entry and exit points, yes? So my real questions are: where's the best place to get these from (silicon, preferably) and are they an "off the shelf" part? Cheers.
  24. I guess this helps explain why you're thinking of changing the body colour, Dan! I'm rather interested to see some more pics myself :)
