A Start To Getting The Zed Back
The SR seats (which is what yours are) came with a variety of different centre sections. The Le Mans trim (yours) is far and away the most popular nowadays because the fabric is no longer available, even from Recaro themselves. If you were having them retrimmed completely, you could have the centres in whatever you wanted of course :)

So what will make it "right" in your opinion then?

A Start To Getting The Zed Back
Two choices: either have the main body of the seats retrimmed in the genuine Recaro Avus fabric (roughly £70 per metre) or use something like this (which is equally hardwearing and somewhat cheaper to buy, thus bringing your costs down a little) :thumbup1:

"Viewing welcome before bedding!" Not often you see that stated in advert for a car... usually on a dating website!

Assuming you wanted a standard(ish) looking Zed at the end of it: Replacement bonnet Replacement bumper Replacement headlights Replacement rear lights and panel Two indicator blanks and one indicator required Remove horrendous graphics (unless they're painted on) Interior looks fairly mismatched, so you'd need to sort that out before it drove you crazy. Repair any rot. All things point to it being a UK car so it's a decent chance that welding of some sort is likely to be needed. On the plus side though, it apparently has a 6 speed 'box!! Hmmm.....

I'll just wait for FunkySi to have a look at it..... That is one fugly Zed! And personally, I would be very wary of buying one that's so unknown to the owner and that you can't really test-drive. As a (sort of) benchmark, I sold my black LWB TT last year with a brand new MOT for £1500. The owner drove it from County Durham to his home in Swindon and is, to this day (as far as I know), very happy with his purchase. I'd honestly keep looking, if I were you.....

A Start To Getting The Zed Back
Retrim both so they look how they're supposed to. So new black woven fabric all round, keep the Confetti centres as they are (no trimming needed there) and get some new bolster foam! :thumbup1:

You mean like this? That's exactly what a Z32 cabin looks like in black with red diamond quilting throughout.

SWB on Pistonheads
The "Power" button in an Auto doesn't limit the boost levels - it changes when the autobox changes up a gear. So you can still make peak boost (or very close) with the Power button disengaged, even though the 'box will shift up a gear at lower revs. Personally, I wouldn't want to be doing a track day without trying to maximise the cooling all round. That bumper will have been restricting your power delivery. That's all I'm saying. :)

SWB on Pistonheads
A track day in a twin-turbo'd car with NO airflow to the intercoolers? Hot charge going into the engine could well equal detonation! Thus: lucky.

I think you were lucky there!

SWB Sale
Here's what JaiKai had to say when he went and had a look at it for me last year: For those who didn't see the most recent pictures, it looks like it's had some money thrown at it (respray, new wheels, new front end) but we don't know if the sill and (possible) engine issues have been sorted properly. It was too much money for me last year at £3200 when I was potentially looking at sill replacement quite quickly and finding out what was causing the oily plenum.

How do you get airflow to the intercoolers with the NA bumper fitted...?

Help Please again looking for advice on this car
Has the seller stated that there's a dyno printout of it making that power? Or are they just saying it was dyno'd once upon a time and that's what it made? Josh Lake on here has just had his car dyno'd at 621bhp and there's A LOT of mods and work gone into his engine! There's no mention of bigger injectors on that car's list (unlike Josh's) and I think the stock ones are only really good below 500bhp. 625 on stock injectors... erm..... Personally, I'd be wanting to see every scrap of paperwork. I'd also ask if they know about it's Cat D classification ;)

It's got some ill-fitting seat covers (or just a poor retrim) and some really bizarre pipework under the bonnet too! The seller makes a big deal of the 4 pot and 2 pot calipers, which are 100% standard across the Z32 range. It might be worth closer investigation, but the advert suggests (to me, at least) that the person writing it doesn't know very much about the car....
