I debated long and hard about having her painted white instead, as I always wanted a white Zed. But it's simply too much grief either moving or removing things under the bonnet so it didn't look like a half-arsed job! So she'll be staying the standard 673 Silver, but with a few nice little embellishments as well ;) All the dents and scratches will be gone (thank God!) and the brand new trims and mouldings should make a sizeable difference to the look as well :yes:

Today's update: I've left her looking somewhat sorry for herself.... :( Genuinely scary stuff, stripping so much off! I just kept telling myself it'll all be worth it when she's gleaming and beautiful again.....

Today will see me start stripping things off and out of my Zed, in readiness of her going to the bodyshop tomorrow morning.... Eeeek!!

The spending continues - brand new bolsters ordered today from Recaro! I want to make sure that my seats are super-firm and without defects when the new covers go on :thumbup1:

Query: if the targas are interchangeable between the SWB and the LWB, why are the B pillars on the Shortie doors a different height...? Genuinely curious here! Anyway, me and Josh have just put an order into Z1 so some brand spanking new goodies will be winging their way towards my Zed, hopefully to pretty much coincide with the bodywork and respray being completed :) Can't. Wait!!!

Ah... with you now. Does Jimmer have the facilities / contacts to have one-piece props made up...?

The seat covers look pretty tatty and ill-fitting, if you ask me... Nobody did ask me, of course... but if they did, that's what I'd say... :lol:

Update time, again: A week on Monday, she's off to the paintshop. I wasn't planning on having the bodywork dealt with quite so soon, but I've been offered a superb deal on a full respray that was simply too good an opportunity to pass up! The dents in the driver's door will be pulled out as far as possible, in order to minimise the amount of filling needed. Then the whole exterior will be stripped back and given a nice new lashing of 673 Silver - except for the roof bars... ;) Can't. Wait!! :D So, because of this, I'll be replacing all the damaged or worn out trim. I have a brand new pair of rear mouldings here (that sit between the targas and the bootlid) and the trims on my targas themselves are undamaged, but the windscreen mouldings and the top edge trims on the doors will be replaced with brand new ones, as will the targa centre trim. So once it's all done, she should be looking rather snazzy! Then all I really need to do is find some time to finish my own interior off. All the trim's done except for the doorcards (as I'm waiting on a better pair, courtesy of Baz) so that just leaves the seats themselves. Find time, Mondo... find time...!! She'll be like a different car completely by the summer! :thumbup1:

I realise this is a proper longshot, but does anyone have a pair of new (or excellent used) windscreen side trims that they feel the urge to sell...?

Just loads of surplus pipes and things once all my work had been done, don't worry!

He did that with mine. Told me that he was going to throw half the engine bay in the bin! :lol:

Only playing. When I come to replace my front discs, my only real viable option is going to be grooved again... as you say, your wheels will hide the lion's share of the disc anyway :)
