  1. I knew your response already, mate! It just honestly seems like a severe amount of chew and financial output, that's all. Finding the blue glass targas is going to be a pure-bred nightmare too! I like the effect that your blue glass has had on your Zed and I seriously doubt there would be very many Shorties in the UK with blue glass... but......
  2. Ok, crisis of confidence time! Having just bought a load of SWB-specific blue glass from Slick Pete, I've spent the evening trying to track down the missing pieces. So far, the only place I can actually find any for the Shortie is in the US. Obviously, having it shipped over comes with some serious risks (not to mention expense) and then there's all the fun of having it replaced and buying a brand new windscreen. Plus the seals and trims, etc. The price just keeps on climbing! So (and I already know FunkySi's answer) my question is this: is it honestly going to be worth it all, just to have blue glass...?
  3. Yet another one of my now infamous "longshots", I know... I'm looking for a driver's side rear quarterglass for a SWB in blue glass and a pair of SWB targas to match. Must be blue glass! Anyone.......? Please?
  4. Definitely check that fuse then, especially if it's only just started doing it!
  5. Doesn't sound like it's the fuse issue if the dips are illuminating (however slightly). But it's worth checking anyway - driver's kick panel, top row, 3rd or 4th in from the firewall :) That's about as much help as I can be!!
  6. Only just seen this reply, so PM well and truly sent!! :)
  7. It's always nice when life throws someone a good curveball once in a while! Congrats, mate :thumbup1:
  8. I had no idea you were so passionate on this subject, fella...
  9. LWB... Family Estate... I don't see a difference, mate
  10. I think I first heard that from Bird... :D
  11. Ok, so Gary has said that he remembers fitting LWB targas to his Shortie once and they were a perfect fit. In the event that his memory might be shot to pieces here  , and bearing in mind that the targas strip down to pretty much the bare glass, am I likely to be correct in assuming that the glass itself would be interchangeable between the Shortie and the Family Estate version...? And (this is something I fear I already know the answer to) how (un)likely is for me to come across any SWB glass (doors, quarters, etc) in blue tint.....?
  12. Not a lot to report today. I popped over to the bodyshop yesterday morning and someone had been out to see about Smart Repairing the driver's door - it looks considerably better now, but still needs a little bit of filler work doing. I double-checked that the guys knew exactly what I wanted from them and then I headed home again. I'm expecting to get the car back late on next week as the Z1 order probably won't be here til Tuesday or Wednesday, and I can't (and won't) start putting her back together until that order's in my possession! So as I said, not much to report. Oh yeah, there is one thing..... My interior's finished!!!!! Well, apart from the steering wheel... but the new seat covers are all made and the doorcards have been revamped so, once she's back home, I can get everything fitted and she'll be pretty much ready for the shows!! Can't. Wait!!
  13. Seriously... what??
  14. The Spy Who Made Me Chuckle! :thumbup1:
  15. You could've just used Facebook Messenger like we have done when we've spoken about potential Zeds for you! Check your Messenger for Simon Lee and go from there, Mark. Or drop me an email to enquiries@hidenseat.co.uk :)
  16. Of course there are better places to take your car, seeing as Zedworld no longer exists  As for how you're spoken to on here by some people: I'm going to assume it's something to do with how you present yourself. Firstly, you wanted a fire-breathing Zed for peanuts and told many people that their suggested budget for you was unrealistic because (and I'm paraphrasing here) "you could get much better and much faster cars for that money." You cleverly said that on an enthusiasts' forum! Seriously, what sort of response did you expect? So now you've found your dream (suspiciously cheap) car and, based on nothing other than the previous owner's word, you wade in claiming that Jeff is a complete cowboy! So in your short time here, you've insulted a large handful of Z32 owners and lovers and probably the longest-established "specialist" in the country. The beauty of a forum is that people are free to voice their opinions. You're entirely free to voice yours, Dan. But please don't get whiny about "how you're spoken to by some" just because we don't all share your opinion about Z32 values and opinions about Traders. :thumbup1:
  17. So your lack of subscription is all due to Zedworld...? I can fully understand what Ian is saying, but there's a big difference between his first-hand knowledge and your second-hand knowledge. ;) I've heard some people praise Jeff to the high heavens... I've heard others slate him beyond belief. All of those opinions have been based on first-hand dealings though. You're basing your slating on receipts and an unreasonably-cheap Zed, which I don't think is fair.
  18. Fixed that for you :)
  19. So if you contacted Jeff and he assured you that neither he nor his son were responsible, who would you trust then...?
  20. You may have a mountain of receipts for work that Zedworld have carried out on this car, but how can you be 100% sure that nobody else has had a play at any point...? Very few traders here have a completely unblemished reputation, true - but by your own admission, you're basing your diatribe on receipts and what you can see for yourself. You cannot know for certain that no other person (be them a trader or the owner) has fiddled about behind the dash or under the carpet. I can't imagine many sellers wanting to openly admit to doing so if the standard was as poor as you say, but that doesn't mean it isn't possibly the case... I have my own thoughts about your new Zed and the circumstances surrounding it's sale but, as I know nothing for certain, I'll keep my mouth shut. Oh, and pay your £10 too - you've freeloaded enough now! ;)
  21. I've been giving this some thought, Birdy my mate, and a couple of things have sprung to mind :) Your interior (obviously): I'm still waiting for you to fetch the leather here, if you remember our chat when you were here ;) Your brake calipers: they need some love as they spoil the overall effect of the wheels (in my opinion). Even a lick of Smoothrite and some new decals would make a huge difference! Exterior: firstly, wash it! Then I'd seriously consider having your 'tache painted as the faded OEM grey (as mine was) really spoils an otherwise mean front end. 99 Spec front would eliminate that issue entirely, of course. I debated swapping mine, but decided I preferred the original face. Lose the crystal front indicators as they don't really tie in with any other light on the car. Then, aside from the little paintwork niggles you're aware of, she'll be looking infinitely smarter! :thumbup1:
  22. Is Guy Eastwood the chap who does all the classic cars...?
  23. Tom's picture > Kim Kardashian's arse! :thumbup1:
  24. I can barely see that picture, Tom... you couldn't make it a little bigger please, could you...??
  25. And replied :)
