I believe that noise is the turbo impellers chopping up the air when you come off boost. it does this because there is no way for the air to escape. If you have a dunp valve or recirc you will not get this noise. It is also not good for the car...

I used to get the same rash, and AndyP has described it perfectly. Now, I just run the clippers over it once or twice a week and always have a "designer" stuble. Women love it too... :D
