Hi!

Does anybody run with the HKS SSQV bovs on high boost?(2 bar)

Ive heard som roumers that they cant release the pressure quick enough...Doesnt match what HKS says about their bovs, but what do I know....

waiting...........

for a post from Funkysi (with a due sense of exhaustion and dread  )

but seriously if anyone knows I would be interested to hear it as well

To run two bar on a zed would be exceptional, the turbos would not last long and neither would the engine. But the HKS bov's are reputed not to be the best and have had rumours of them leaking boost!

They sound like this

This guy is running 25psi.. not sure if their releasing the pressure quick enough but it sounds damn nice ;).

The turbos and engine is built for that boost.. :hyper:

I have the SSQVs now on my 420RWHP engine, and they work well on 1,3 bar.

My main issue is, will they work on a higher boost.....?

Not much worth spending lots of cash on other parts, when the bovs can cause trouble.....

To be truthful the only thing I found hks to be good at making were turbos, I would get a set of blitz bovs or uprated recircs if I were you?

Give us your full spec then stop hiding it :)

i think its one of the Greddy range of BOV's Either the Type R / Type RS.. and usually with a big single turbo to get that noise ;).

thats exactly the noise i speak of! what does one need to achieve such wierdness?

Mine sound VERY VERY similair to that. I had a look and I'm not sure they're anything special, just silver aluminium piston type which are in place of the stock recircs.

What are you going to have to monitor this monster build?

Wideband

EGT

Charge temp?

record it and post it up ;)

Let me get rid of the crap fuel thats in there at the mo and I'll do it ;)

my s14a used to make same sound back though the filter!

I believe that noise is the turbo impellers chopping up the air when you come off boost. it does this because there is no way for the air to escape.

If you have a dunp valve or recirc you will not get this noise.

It is also not good for the car...

aahhh but your wrong... i had a bump valve as well but the car dumped after 4500+ rpm and chatted below.......

Im gonna use the AEM for all its worth.

1x wideband sensor

2xegt sensor

1xoil temp

1xoil pressure

1xwater temp

1xair temp

fuel pressure

3,5bar map sens

boost sensor

This will be monitored over 2 or 3 gauges, with warning set for all channels...
