  1. Gutted for you Gary. Hope the wet and dry works out.
  2. Si, what was the room temperature when you laid down the paint? As I understand it, it's quite critical? Or is it?
  3. Impressive Si! :thumbup1: Rattle can? or something a bit more sophisticated?
  4. Glad you got to the bottom of it. Always good to hear about what the true cause turned out to be.
  5. Could be that the pivot pin and bore are excessively worn, misshaped. I think I recall a similar issue when the pin and bore go out of round.
  6. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?161905-Ignition-timing-Auto-Vs-Manual&highlight=auto+timing http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?152683-Timing-light-tech-help&highlight=timing May be of help.
  7. Good point there ZNUT. As for high idle, another possible cause could be the TPS needs a re set. Try disconnecting the connectors and then turning the ignition on for 30 seconds, turn ignition off and re connect. I seem to remember having to do this myself a while back.
  8. Good point Stephen. My understanding is that the ECU uses this figure to calculate, but the actual timing must be set by a strobe. With a manual conversion, wouldn't you need the ECU to still show 15 deg's though?
  9. Is the motor modified or standard? The only reason I ask is that the consult screen shot appears to be looking for 19 deg' BTDC Standard I believe is 15 deg' BTDC
  10. Good point about the TPS, sorry,I could not quite make it out for the glare. You are right, spot on.
  11. High idle could be a number of things. I would definitely get the timing checked first and go from there. Tps setting would be my next port of call. From there we could look at the base idle settings
  12. This link may be of useful info mate. http://www.redrubbergrease.com/tips-how-to-brake-caliper-failure-repair-with-rebuild-kit.html
  13. Did the kit come with any assembly grease for the seals?
  14. Blown fuse from the initial wiring set up?
  15. Nicely put Si :thumbup1: One day I hope to restore mine to it's former glory.
  16. Ditto. :happybday:
  17. There are many members on here that will be able to recommend help, so don't despair Member since 2002, Wow that goes back a bit. Good luck with the car, any recent pictures?
  18. Fantastic attention to detail. Should look stunning when complete mate. :thumbup1:
  19. Brilliant idea! Are they expensive?
  20. Nice one Ian. I have just donated a tenner to the cause.
  21. Thanks again Black-zed. My aim is to rectify the issue as opposed to by-passing it. I am on the lookout for a replacement unit, hopefully that will restore the full functionality. Thanks for the identification and location, at least now I know what and where to be looking.
  22. As title. I believe it is a green unit behind the passenger front wing. (UK Model only?)
