  1. sounds promising mate. Once it is in a position to be cut out, I am still happy to come and do the cutting mate, it's the least I can do. You will have to let me know which weekend suits you. As for my mobile no' I'll pm it to you, I'll have to get my daughter sort me out with whatsapp mind.:lol: Mind you, I am on face book. Thanks again mate.
  2.:lol::lol: I hope to make a start stripping her down this weekend. Guess I should post my progress as I go? if it will be of interest.
  3. I know I am being cheeky, but could you take a couple of pictures in situ please, especially where the crossmember meets with the wheel arch. Just want to familiarise myself with how it all fits together, spot welds etc' Thanks in advance mate.
  4. Cheers mate, Please don't go to the trouble of painting it etc' I need to see it in all its naked glory, if you know what I mean. That way I can be confidant of the integrity prior to welding into position, hope you understand where I am coming from. Also, I have some very good rust preventative treatments that I would like to apply. As you say, I need to save her after 12 years of ownership, I owe her that.
  5. Yes mate, items 38,35 and 33, as Lymon said, all as one item though. I must say, I am blown away with your generosity and help. Humbled. As you say, I am happy to accept whatever you can cut out, I am happy to trim up the excess in readiness for refitting my end. My only reservation is that it is corrosion free, well close to if possible, something I can treat before fitting. Again, thank you for your efforts and generosity, I look forward to your photos. No worries about the hijack mate, no harm done.
  6. Thank you Andrew, Some great reading there. :thumbup1::thumbup1:
  7. Thanks mate, that's reassuring to know. :thumbup1:
  8. Thanks Lymon, :thumbup1: That helps me immensely, I didn't realise that there were 3 pieces to consider. Hopefully I might get away with only the cross member itself.
  9. Has anyone got an exploded body shell schematic type diagram of this area? Particularly the weld points. long shot I guess.
  10. Thanks Jeff, very informative, and as you say, looks like I have got my work cut out.
  11. Thanks Lymon, Some very helpful information, I'm starting to grow in confidence about tackling this myself. Might take a while mind.
  12. Thanks mate, really appreciate it. We will tie up a weekend that suits you and the car. I am happy to have a go at cutting the item out myself, just not very familiar with that area of the shell. I will do some homework in the mean time. As you say, can anyone help us with pictures of the area without things in the way please? Not only will it help the removal of the section, it will help me get an idea of what I might be letting myself in for.
  13. Mate, that sounds great. My only problem is that I am committed to taking my daughter out this weekend as it is the bank holiday. What about the following weekend?
  14. Thanks for the offer NemesizX, very much appreciated, just a bit undecided as to which way to go to be honest. Thanks to everyone to date for the help and good advice, I'm am just struggling to decide which way to go. One question does spring to mind though, would this part be interchangeable throughout the models? Or are there variations? I'm worried I may end up with the wrong part.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions and support guys, I certainly needed a bit of inspiration. As I see it, considering everything that has been said, my best option is to replace as opposed to repair. I will have to give things some serious thought as to whether I tackle this one myself, or to put this in the hands of someone more experienced. With regards to this.. (thanks for the link by the way Nickz32) https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-oem-75210-40p60-lower-radiator-core-support-twin-turbo-tt-nissan-300zx-z32_p_6853.php Will this be OK for a UK model? seriously considering it. Again guy, thanks for all of you help and support. I feel somewhat more confidant that she can be saved. As you say Russ, I have put so much work in to give up now. Thanks all, keep the ideas/support coming, appreciate it.
  16. Just before going for a quick spin, I thought I would just check a couple of things like exhaust mountings, break lines etc' Lucky I did, I discovered that my front cross member has collapsed on the front near side due to corrosion! I cant believe how bad it looks, so gutted to say the least! Looks like a very difficult job to me, so distraught at the moment. Especially with the Coventry meet just around the corner and my MOT in a months time! I could really do with some experienced advise as to how to approach this one, I am worried that it could be the end of the car. Please see pictures below, 3 of the near side and 1 of the far side.
  17. Took this pic before venturing out into the sunshine today, couldn't help myself.
  18. Big supporter of the OEM fan unit myself, so long as they are working correctly. It took me a while to realise that my original one was in fact in permanent free wheel and only revolving on drag. Once I understood what was supposed to be happening with the thing, I changed it a couple of times until I found one that behaved correctly. Now, even in the warmest of weather, it only kicks in when being stationary or moving in slow traffic after about 30 seconds. The roar is very noticeable, and my RPM only drops by 50/75 RPM. Once I am up to 30 MPH and higher, the fan drops off into free wheel again as the incoming air speed is sufficient to keep things cool, and gives back a little horse power. No matter what the weather, my temperature gauge always sits a little under halfway.
  19. Agreed, not worth the risk in my humble opinion.
  20. Taxed it! Starting tomorrow! Bring on the summer.
  21. Very jealous Si, mine was a right rust bucket. Just had to do what was needed to save her, took a while mind.
