  1. How was the temperature gauge during the 10 minute tick over? May have over heated. (hopefully not) Have you tried to fire her up since the engine has cooled down?
  2. :thumbup:Thanks Steams,Groover. Appreciate you taking the time to pass on your advice. I will make the changes as you suggest and see what happens. As you say, maybe Jeff will drop in and help further.:thumbup1: Still haven't managed to get the A/F feature working mind, anybody had the same problem?
  3. I do not know if this will be of any help, but I had a 1 amp parasitic drain a wile back. (would kill my battery in days) After pulling numerous fuses, I found that a white multi plug connector behind the drivers foot well fuse cover looked slightly green. (bloody targa's) I stripped the connector and found corrosion had built up across the wiring causing a short. Cleaned and refitted the connector and the drain was back to a healthy 80/09ma May be worth a look?
  4. Managed to have a play around with my Data Scan software today, (once I had finally got it to work) Would someone be good enough to take a look and pass comment please? 3 out of 4 look OK to me,(but what do I know) Just could not figure out the correct port setting for the 4th. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Redwine300 Engine at start up Engine Warm Hicas Port Setting
  5. Not sure if this is relevant, but there are 2 similar connectors at the bulkhead that are interchangeable, I think 1 is the knock sensor and the other is the O2 sensor. Not knowing what is involved in the conversion you may not have disturbed them. It could be worth a check to see if you inadvertently connected them the wrong way round. just a guess mind.
  6. Will she tick-over on her own after 5 minutes or does the engine die? ( I believe the over fuelling warm up finishes after 5 minutes) Also, will it rev smooth below 2500 rpm or is she lumpy? If your happy with fuel delivery the next easy thing to look at would be an air leak, may be a pipe adrift.
  7. What exactly does she do? tick over but not rev? or just fire but not run? I would start with the basics, are you getting fuel to the engine etc' I had a similar problem that turned out to be air in the fuel line, took a few seconds on the starter motor to even get her to fire and several more to get up and running.
  8. looks like i need to get a spray gun and a sticky window?:lol::lol::lol:
  9. Not the most technical or interesting of question I know,:whistling: But can I leave Wynn's rad flush in for a couple of weeks? or am I in danger of corrosion and also damaging gaskets etc':nuke: Thanks in advance, Redwine300.
  10. Thanks bigh,:thumbup1: I have ordered some Wynn's radiator flusher, so should be here next week. I guess flushing the system should be easy enough, worried about re filling correctly mind with the risk of air locks.:scared: The last thing I want to do is cook the engine!:scared::scared: Is there a right way and wrong way to bleed the air out? or is it all down to how you re fill the system?
  11. Successfully changed the oil and filter and would like to know the best way to flush the coolant system and re fill. Coolant looks rusty and a bit weak on anti freeze to say the least. Is there any existing posts someone could point me at please?
  12. Wow,:pinch: Try heritage, I'm 52, (maximum nc's) 1992 uk tt £176.00 fully comp'!!
  13. I know what you mean santa, if the drive home today was anything to go by, I'm in for some serious fun!! My wife might not agree mind, she came with me and I had to pry her hand off the door handle to get her out!:lol::lol:
  14. Good point MarkDerby,:whistling: Narrowed it down to a faulty connector at the MAF meter. Jeff also tweaked the TPS and trimmed the timing and throttle bodies, to name but a few. What a star!:cool3: I have to be careful under full throttle now, as I can light up the rears with now problems. Whooopeeeee!:lol:
  15. All fixed!!! back to full power and some.:nana2::nana2: For those of you who know Jeff TT, need I say more, for those of you who have not yet experienced the brilliance of Zedworld, then you are missing out. I found Jeff and the entire team, extremely welcoming and exceptionally talented.:bow: I can not recommend them enough! Thanks again Jeff and the guy's at Zedworld.:thumbup1: I'll be back soon!
  16. Heritage sorted me,:thumbup1: very reasonable, mind you, I am an old git.:lol:
  17. Bilt-Hamber gets my vote, far superior! by the way, hi Ossian. how is it going
  18. Well, stripped the 4 top hoses and re fitted them but to no avail, problem still there. mind you, from cold she seemed OK, until I hit some boost once warm and again wham! no power.:confused1: put her on ramps and re fitted the bottom hoses, where I could get too, problem still there.:taz: Looks like I will be taking you up on your offer of booking her in Jeff some time soon to have her pressure tested. gutted or what? there goes the summer.:hang:
  19. :thumbup:Cheers Jeff, she is cooling down in the garage at the moment. I will take a look first thing in the morning, hopefully it did not fly off down the by-pass.:blushing: Thanks again Jeff, I was fearing the worst. I will post what I find in the morning.
  20. As the weather was nice, I thought I would take the Z for a spin along the by-pass. at around 5,500 RPM under full boost, WHAM! sudden loss of power,:scared: It felt as though I was only running on 2 or 3 cylinders and she was really shuddery. Brought the speed to 20 MPH with no load and everything was smooth, but as soon as I applied any sort of load she just ran awful. managed to limp home in second and third gear so as to keep the rev' down, once on the drive she ticked over and revved like a sewing machine,:confused1: any ideas? this has got me worried to say the least.
  21. Welcome to the world of Zeds, I hope you realise that your life will never be the same again. All for the good I hasten to add.
  22. Cheers Jeff TT,:thumbup1: I have taken your advice and gone with a cheap laptop, just need to replace the bios battery and install a suitable operating system. Can't wait.
  23. Cheers Guy's. Some good options there.
  24. Nice one Jeff TT,:thumbup1: E-bay it is then.
  25. Decided to dig out my Data Scan cable and software today. I thought I would install it on my daughters lap top so as to check out the Nissan, all was going well up until I came to connect the cable! :confused1: Ooops, nothing to connect to (at the lap top that is). can anyone tell me if there is some kind of adaptor cable, or is my software/cable out of date? Sorry to appear vague, but I am not very IT
