  1. How much water should I expect from the exhaust? I have a turbo UK model and after a couple of minutes working under the bonnet(while at tick over) I can hear her gurgling quite loudly and when I rev her up she splutters and pops and almost stalls,:helpsmilie: while at the same time spits what looks like a good pint or more from each side over the garage floor. Surely this is excessive?
  2. Hi Groover, Had a look under the fuse cover as you suggested, but unfortunately only found a blank space, No socket for a fuse or relay I'm afraid. If I look at re setting the tps does the engine need to be running and up to temperature? or can I just turn the ignition on?
  3. Started her up again today and as she was still idling at 1500 rpm pressed the accelerator pedal just enough to make the cruise control switch activate, engine nearly died and clicking noise appeared.:w00t: I would of thought the switch would have been passive until the cruise control was activated but seems to be influencing things,:excl: or am I barking? Is it worth me disconnecting the actuator for the cruise control and also, do I need to re set it in any way similar to the tps? Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks Groover, May be worth me looking at connectors etc' relating to cruise control?:thumbup1:
  5. Hi Santa, Thanks for your thoughts,:thumbup1: I had a good look round the points you raised. There does no appear to be any air leaks, Also checked a few connectors, but none of them seemed to be loose or dirty. Also, yes the problem (ticking noise) does go away after the tick over begins to settle. Sorry I forgot to mention, she's a manual. Thanks also, suffolkZX, I will check out my tps in the next day or so. I decided to fire her up today and get into the foot well to have a better listen, I thought it might have something to do with the fuel relay but it seemed to be higher up nearer the dash. One thing I did discover was, as soon as I touched the accelerator pedal with my hand there was an audible click same happened when i released it. (this was after it had settled down by the way) Does anyone know what the pedal appears to be switching?:confused:
  6. :helpsmilie:Hope someone can shed some light on this please. Just recently, when i start my 300 tt from cold i get a high tick over, around 2,100 rpm. When i attempt to pull away the engine nearly dies accompanied with this rapid clicking. (3 ticks per second approx'):confused1: It appears to be coming from straight in front of me but it is difficult to pinpoint exactly due to the high volume. After a minute or so it seems to be OK. Would someone point me in the right direction please.
  7. Many thanks guy's.:cool3: I will take up your suggestions in the new year. I am looking forward to trying the leather dye and hopefully bringing the drivers seat back to something near new. I'll post some before and after photo's as I go.:thumbup1:
  8. I am currently looking to restore some of the worn areas of my leather interior, particularly the drivers seat. I am being told that the colour is black but I am not totally convinced,:confused1: It looks slightly tinted with grey. before I spend any money on a product that will not match, would anyone know what colour options there might be?:scared:
  9. sorry about the confusion vodkashots, i see where you were coming from, It is as car mad says though, the small inset reflector. Medallion man, Thanks for the advice, I like the idea of polishing in situ and flatting off the lettering, might be a good look. (by the way, thanks for the link reference (nissan4u) i shall do some browsing)
  10. Hi gruntpa64, I am in the process of polishing the standard lens covers. and as the lettering on the reflector insert is raised i thought it would be easier to remove it. also if the polishing works as well as i hope. i would like to replace the reflectors with a new ones.
  11. Hi Jaikai, I'm referring to the indicator/break light lens. does this mien i will have to use some sort of heat to remove? or is it as car.mad suggests, glued permanent? by the way, thanks for taking the time to help.
  12. Hi Guy's and Girls, Could anyone tell how to remove the reflector element from the the rear light please? I have removed what appears to be the retaining screw but the thing won't budge.:censored:
  13. Hi, llokey, did you get my e-mails ok?:thumbup1::thumbup1:
  14. Have sent you a couple of e-mails, 1 with contact details and another with some additional pipe work diagrams, hope you are able to open it ok
  15. Hi again llokey, this link might be of interest reference boost gauge. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm
  16. Hi llokey, Have tried to send you my details by pm (private message)but it was not allowed, Maybe due to you not being subscribed yet, I don't know for sure. Maybe someone here can advise. I'm reluctant to post any of my contact details on the public forum, hope you understand. hope we can get it sorted soon.
  17. Hi IIokey123, Coventry eh, Me too. I have had a stock 300 tt for some years now, although it has been on ramps and stands for the past 2 while i cut out all the rust and and replace with new.:sweatdrop: Nearly done. She had not run for that time untill just recently and barring a small issue with the boost gauge, ran fine. If it is of any use you are wellcome to look under the bonnet of mine. Alternately, let me know which pipes are in question and I will post photo's
  18. Don't worry about it guy's, (not that you were by the lack of interest) fixed it myself!!!:censored: If this is the level of interest in general it will probably be another 2 years before I'm back.:surrender: Things seem to have gone down hill since I first joined!!
  19. Sorry it has been a while since my last post, I have been busy cutting out rusty sills and floors etc'. However, It's been the best part of 2 years now so I thought I would run the engine for the first time. (I have been turning her over periodically) She fired up first time!! slightly noisy on 1 or 2 tappets but no major issues. My question is, What readings should I be seeing on the boost gauge? I have only revved her a little once warmed up and the needle just sits there just to the right of centre, Is that normal or do I have a problem? Thanks in advance, Redwine300
  20. Well managed to get a bit more fresh metal into place. maybe one day all the tin worm will be gone? possibly. So I thought I would post some pictures, if anyone is interested.:yinyang:
  21. He He! ? Mmmmmmmmm.:confused1::confused1:
  22. Managed to get the panel welded in today.:sweatdrop: Mig welding still leaves a lot to be dresired though. Ground back where needed and preped with acid etch primer followed with 90% Zinc primer. More wax to follow. Will it ever end!!
  23. Hi Dougal200, How did the strip down go? not too bad I hope. I would be interested in how it progresses. Persevered with the 300 over the last day or so despite the weather and made some progress.:sweatdrop: Hopefully in the right direction. As you have experience with these problems have you any comments that might help? (good or bad) Cheers, Redwine300 (Dave)
