I seem to remember using a similar method to the above to check whether both turbos were working on my brothers car. I think what I did was pull the pipe off one throttle body at time, that way the AFM was still registering air flow & therefore the engine didn't stall. Then I got my brother to put the car in drive (auto) with his foot planted on the brake and at the same time got him to give it some throttle to get the turbos to kick in, something like that anyway. I wouldn't recommend standing in front of the car though whilst doing this  , stand at the side! ;)
  2. In reply to the 300ZX 'V' 3000GTO question, a mate of mine owns a 3000GTO & said to my brother that he thought that I had got the better car (i.e. 300ZX) ;)
  3. Well done! I hope you didn't get any fuel on your new paint job:eek: Saying that, if they've used two pack laquer, which they undoubtedly have, then it should be fine. :)
  4. Hurrah! Insurance have paid out for the damage to my car. All £822 of it, in advance of repair too! ;) :)
  5. The 99 spec ones look cheap IMHO. It has to be the smoked glass ones.
  6. I used two extensions but also had one of those knuckle joints between the extension & the bit if that makes sense. You have to guide the bit onto the bolt with one hand whilst holding the extensions with the other. Once this is done, just slap the ratchet handle onto the extension & undo. I managed to get all the bolts out without undoing any mounts or removing anything (apart from exhaust of course) using this method. ;) Best of luck, Shaun
  7. Some people have got more money than taste. It looks like it's been slimed! I mean, FFS as if you fit ford focus lights to a Zed:D
  8. Not forgetting My Ingenious Nissan Ecu Software;) PS. Welcome to the forum Friday. :)
  9. That had me for a minute, thought there was another car with my reg number knocking around! :D
  10. You need heavy weights + low reps to get big cos you've got to shock your body's muscles into growing. If you do this then the body will adapt itself in order to cope better next time around. If you lift light weights & do loads of reps then there'll be no growth. The only thing that'll happen is that your muscles will become more efficient, something to do with synchronisation of motor neuron signals, can't remember exact details. Milk could make you sterile?!!!! Oh fook, not good!
  11. I've just started training again after Christmas & I've put 9lbs of weight on. Not sure how much of that is fat though. I drink 4-6, (sometimes more) pints of semi skimmed milk a day on top of what I normally eat, is this a good idea? I figured that milk would contain eveything you need to grow.
  12. The worst drivers I've ever experienced are old folk, especially old women, they're absolutely deadly. I've been driving through the village where I live & on numerous occasions, an old dear will just pull straight out in front of you causing you to have to brake & swerve to avoid them. My brother was driving along on his motorbike once & some old dear reversed straight out of her drive in front of him. He managed to swerve but ended up coming off the bike & sliding sideways down the road. Not only that, they do half the speed limit, dither all over the road, don't indicate, go in the wrong lane. you name it they do it! People over a certain age should be made to have their eyes tested and also their reaction time. I could drive better whilst pissed that some of these people. :(
  13. Salary depends a lot on where you live. If u live in North then you can almost half the wage you'd get for the same job in London. If you live in Wales then you get paid with flocks of sheep & buckets of manure, lol Depends on what you like. I love the mountains, the sea & of course bahbahra ;)
  14. Bastards, I hate injustices like that. :( I hope you settle the score, be it through court or not!!
  15. I've welded studs (grinded in a V-shape at the bottom) onto sheared bolts - the idea is to weld at the bottom of the V if you know what I mean but it's a bit crude and I doubt you'd have the room to get in with the torch and certainly not a grinder (maybe a dremmel) if you put too much weld on it. The trick is to get it welded perfectly straight or you'll struggle to line up the flange holes afterwards. Hope you get it sorted. Shaunmac
  16. My air-con compressor whines when in use. Does anyone know if these pumps can be serviced (e.g. new vanes/blades etc.) or does anyone have a spare they'd like to sell. The aircon works fine but I'm sure it'll eventually seize !! Thanks Shaunmac.
  17. I rekon he's after his box  lol :D
  18. Mine is the same, but it has always been like that. I don't think they're meant to be put into 1st when moving. I think all cars are pretty much the same.
  19. B*****d s***t! Due to the fact that the Estates department of Bangor University failed to carry out it's duties, my car has suffered the consequences! About 6 months ago, a slate fell of a buiding across from where I work. They cordoned off an area as it was obviously unsafe. Since then, some idiot has removed the cones that were there despite the fact that the roof hasn't been fixed. Of course I wan't aware of this so I parked in a designated parking space as one would. The next thing, the porters are knocking on my door telling me that my car is damaged. The door mirror was ripped off, the passenger side glass is scraped, the wing is damaged & there is a big paint chip on the door. The real fooker is that the University say that you park on the grounds at your own risk! How crap is that, you go to work & you leave worse off! Does anyone know if I've got a case for claiming against the University? I mean FFS, I could have been getting out of it & the slate would have landed on my head!:(
  20. After cleaning the AFM & removing a leaf trapped in the gauze, the thing now works!! Robtor, is there no one near you that is willing to help you out? All you need is to swap bits till it works. If you could get down to Bangor N.Wales, I'd help out.
  21. Thanks lads. I work over the road from the local DVLA so I think I'll go there in "apology mode" and hope for the best. Cheers
  22. My Zed's been off the road for 6 months, the Tax expired on the 31st of March 2003. Although the car was registered in my name at my CURRENT address I received no reminder form as I usually do. I taxed it last week and would you believe it - the F*CKERS have sent me a fine for not filling out a SORN for a mere 8 weeks. The F*CKERS have had £89 for a car that's been off the road and now they want MORE. Does anyone know a way around this - it's not the money, it's the PRINCIPLE. Many Thanks Shaunmac.
  23. My brother drives one too ;)
