My brother once put diesel in his petrol car by mistake. Even though he drained the tank & put petrol back in, traces of diesel would get burnt off occasionally causing the car to produce huge amounts of smoke! This gave me a cracking idea;) Why not get the pipe from the windscreen washer bottle, plug it into the inlet manifold & then fill the washer bottle with diesel. Voila, instant smoke screen on demand:dance: This would be very useful if you had to take a chase :cool:

TBH, I wasn't bothered at all when I reached 30. Some people might find it odd but I've found it far far more difficult hitting 35 than 30. Probably because I knew that I was nearer to 40 than 30. My brother found these restrictors & removed them, I don't think they made a whole lot of difference though, might have added a bit of extra power but didn't notice much in the way of extra exhaust noise. Shaun

This person drives a year old astra 1.6 :rolleyes: . I'm gonna start calling him Captain sensible from now on! Funnily enough, his name is Norm :rofl: I think the above mentioned view point probably is down to sour grapes TBH. This person has never done anything spontaneous in his life, whereas I am spontaneous. I think that's where the jealousy comes in to play!

Someone suggested that fast cars are toys and that we should have put away childish things by the time we reach a certain age & suggested that it was immature to drive a fast car. I am 35 by the way & found this a little offensive! What are your views on this opinion? Personally, I think that you only get one shot at life and so you should do what ever makes you happy.:) so long as it doesn't affect other people's welfare such as the wife, kids etc. You've got to be true to yourself regardless of how you may be judged.

I used to think that the 350z was unattractive but it's definately grown on me now, IMO I think it looks nicer that the 300z :(. I wouldn't get a N/A though, I'd rather wait for the TT version. I thought that the Nemesis 350z in billing (going from the pics I saw) looked the biz.

Yeah, I live in North Wales & the police had a 30% increase in budget paid for out of Council Tax funds last year. Almost every day there's a b@stard hiding up someone's driveway with their cameras in my village. I get sick of seeing people being pulled over & done, it makes my blood boil! In Caernarfon which is 5 miles from me, there were 5 coppers waiting around, 1 had a camera and the other 4 were sat in two cop cars waiting to give chase. I mean, WTF! There's so much crime in Caernarfon at the moment, gangs of lads and girls going around terrorising local people, hitting people over the heads with bags full of pool balls, yet nothing is ever done about it, it's still going on. I get the impression that a lot of the Police are just out for an easy ride. They want the power, status, but don't want any trouble :rolleyes: :mad: Well, my answer is that they shouldn't have taken the job on if they're scared of trouble!

According to this advert, the ECU they're selling will work in a Zed that's TT, NA with a MT or AT gearbox. I'm not sure whether I believe that, what do you guys think? I had a mate who turned off the ignition on his mini clubman whilst he was driving along. God knows why he did it mind but the steering lock came on and he ended up going straight into a corner. :slap: He wrote his car off. Luckily no one was hurt. IMO I think that's *****cks. Anyone could easily think that they've tripped a camera even if they haven't. All you need is to be distracted for a second or two or be tired or have your mind on other things or have someone talking to you. Speed limits in villages go from 40 to 30 then back to 40, you have to have eyes like a shite hawk. Road works can catch you out too. I think these speed cameras are ok in principle but in practice they cause other problems. I was driving through Blackpool the other day & I kept shitting myself in case I was going too fast which resulted in me stamping on the brakes even when I didn't need to. It turns people into nervous drivers.

That's what I was thinking. Some people had all those mods inc chip + boost controller & still only got just over 320BHP. Could it have been because the I.C.'s weren't being cooled?

If the timing is too far advanced then the full explosion will occur before the piston reaches top dead centre, thus making a knocking sound. If the mixture is too weak then the reaction/explosion will take place much quicker causing the same thing to happen.

I'm not too sure TBH. If you get in touch with Jap-City then he'll probably be able to give you more info & could put you in touch with the owner. The guy has been quoted £1700 parts & labour for getting it repaired which is not too bad considering, it could have been a lot worse!

It's been found but has been in a heavy smash! Poor bloke. :( He said he needs front cone, front wing, door and maybe some alloys as one of the ones on it was a bit smashed too. He is going to get it on a jig to make sure there is no structural damage. If anyone can help out with the parts then maybe they could get in touch with Jap-City.

OK, posting in every section might have been an irrational thing to do but at least it shows that they're genuinely concerned by what has happened and are making every effort to help this guy out. Some people would just turn around & say 'tough', so I think they're due some credit for their efforts. I've suggested they post details on the SXOC & GTR forums.
