  1. You have to change some of the resistors around on the cruise control PCB to get it to work beyond 70mph. http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/ascd.htm
  2. B!oody hell, I saw it there too
  3. I saw a pig on a bridge as I was doing 85mph on the A55 & I thought if I'm gonna get nicked then I may as well show them the bird, so I did :) NIP is probably winging it's way to my house in double quick time :slap:
  4. What about U2? They're class & have knocked out loads of great songs. I heard that the song 'One' was voted the best song ever!
  5. My Zed is off the road cos the exhaust needed to come off again!!! (Sore subject!) I was wondering if I could drive my brothers car on my insurance as the policy states that I may drive another car with the owners permission. The only problem is that he hasn't got it insured, but does this matter as on my policy it doesn't state that the other driver has to have the car insured? Cheers, Shaun
  6. Fookin el, 500 bhp from a sr20, that's impressive to say the least!
  7. Sounds like a good idea in principle but sadly I doubt anyone will do it! I think I will though :D
  8. £2k (and rising rapidly) on mods and services + cost of rebuilding wall!!! ;)
  9. Sorry to hear this m8, I'm sure you'll soon have her sorted again though. It looks like the inner wing is still intact which will save a lot of work, that would have been a right PITA to replace.
  10. I've worked in a University for the last 11 years & I know how much dead wood there is. Not so much the academic deparments but more in other departments. There's one guy (assistant director) who's been working in the Information services department and for as long as I can remember he's done nothing but produce silly posters. He gets paid 40K a year for that! It seems to be very difficult to get rid of these people from the University, they become part of the furniture & no one wants the job of turfing them out. I've heard it's the same story in our local county council too.
  11. I take it you're a fan of the film 'Withnail & I' then? Lol
  12. I was thinking that you'd have to remove the hub as it didn't look like there was enough clearance to get the studs out. From what you guys are saying it is possible, excellent stuff! :hyper: Didn't want to have to fit a new wheel bearing kit!
  13. I guess it must have been. Cleaning the wires in the MAF never worked for me, the only solution was to replace it. My brothers went west too, seems to be a common fault on the zed.
  14. I'll try putting the ecu into diagnostic mode & see if it complains about the temp sensor or any thing else being faulty. Should have done that first
  15. It does it all the time (when engine is cold) come rain or shine so I don't think it's dampness that's causing the problem. I also don't think it's the temp sensor as the connector looks pretty clean. I will try unplugging it mind just to see if the engine revs change when it's cold. It's not the first time I've had this kind of problem. I had a similar problem a few years back which took months to resolve. It turned out to be the fuel pump voltage regulator module that was dying! This caused intermittent hesitation at any engine temperature though, so different from this problem!
  16. For some reason, if I put my foot down before the engine has fully warmed up it will cut out momentarily as if there's a lack of fuel. It's particularly bad sometimes when trying to pull out of a junction. Also it stumbles/hesitates when cruising along or gently accelerating. Once the engine is up to operating temperature it's fine. I thought that it could have been a TPS problem but I can't see that causing the engine to almost cut out completely. Any help would be much appreciated. Shaun
  17. 200sx S13, still think it's a great looking car & it's relatively cheap to mod.
  18. I think that what the Mirror did is disgraceful & they should be punished for it. Our guys are already living in fear of losing their lives over in Iraq, imagine what they must have thought when they saw what the Mirror had been publishing! It amazes me what people do for money, the :xxx: responsible for this should be fired forthwith and taken to Iraq for a holiday ;) :mac1: .
  19. I don't like the way that the fookin seat belt never goes back properly, that's probably yet another fault though! I've got a list of faults longer than the longest long thing!
  20. Well, you will 'drive it like you stole it!'
  21. Just sounds like an excuse to pay out less to me :xxx:
  22. I've ordered the Mintex ones, £30 front £37 rear + Twa.. :slap: + VAT! Dunno why the smaller rear ones would be more expensive than the front ones  Cheers
  23. Does anyone know if Mintex or Unipart pads are OK? I was looking at Ferodo ds2500 pads, they look like the muts nuts but they're £130 which is a bit more that I can afford at the mo. Might get some when i have more dosh.
  24. I think I've got dot 4 or 5 brake fluid & the pads might be Halfords :slap: :nono: Where can I get some good pads from at a decent price?
  25. Is it just my car or are all Zed's brakes cr@p when cold? I was driving down the road this morning & some fooker pulled out in front of me as per usual. I stamped on the brakes & next to nothing, pretty scary to be honest!
