I'm sick of all the tax rises, you get a pay rise & you lose it plus more per year in multiple tax rises. It's quite unbelieveable just how many new forms of tax there are, they're quite relentless. The only tax they haven't increased is income tax & that's because they know people will notice that more & therefore they'll lose votes! How is it that Council tax can go up by an average of 12% per year when inflation is only 3%. I mean, FFS I must pay 60% more CT than I did 4 years ago and yet my salary has only gone up by 15%. The only thing I will say mind is that the country would be no better off under any other government. This country has been fooked and it's thanks to the last Tory government, Thatcher selling off all the countrys resources. For example the railway & now we're having to pay to buy the fooker back :mad:

Believe me mate, there are some people that never ring back or deliver when they say they will no matter how much you hassle them, naming no names :mad: Saying that, if I was spending 1-1.5K I'm sure that I'd have had a MUCH better response (one seriously cheesed of Shaun :( ).

Don't make me laugh, Pork, Pr!ck or whatever your name is, most of the Zed's on this forum would whip your sorry arse boy! :dance: I bought the Zed because it was turbo charged, in fact I've always gone for cars with a turbo because they're much more fun. They have loads more torque throughout the rev band and are very easily tunable. Granted the V8 sounds lovely but I'd rather have a car that I can tune up to serious power. You should have Mac1 a race :rofl: Anyhow, the 928 has moved into the same arena as the 924 and 944 now. :slap: :rofl:

so long as you put a block of wood between jack and gearbox you should be OK. Jack it near to the mount if you can.

I think there's only 4 bolts holding it in position. You will need to take the weight of the gearbox with a jack though & you may need to jack it further up to give the bottom two bolts on the mount clearance when removing. Alternatively, you could remove the mounting & cross member as one. HTH :)

It take it that's a big end shell. How could it have gone in such a short time, 3000K is nothing. The big end journal must be knackered, is it the same conrod that went last time?

This is my perspective (saying this so that no-one gets upset, lol). When I first saw the Zed 13 years ago, I fell in love with it then. I thought it looked so awesome. Never believed I'd ever be driving one to be honest! I like the 3000GTO, Supra & RX7, but felt that the 3000GTO was trying desperately to be a Ferrari, the Supra looked a bit like an overgrown Celica, the RX7 is a lovely car but has that damn rotary engine! The Zed is unique in the way that it looks. The interior on the Zed is a far better design, in fact it's one of the best. When I first sat in the Zed I felt like I was in a real super car, in fact when I think back to when i bought it, I was in heaven for the first week. I've never felt like that when getting into another car. Also, the Zed was one of the first cars to have ditched the pop-up headlamps and go for the sloping jobbies (almost identical to the newer diablo lights).

Oh jeezz, sorry to hear that mate, I remember reading about all the hassle you went through last time to sort it. You must be gutted. Maybe you'd be better just buying a known good engine from AndyZ or someone else, it'd probably only cost you £300-£400. I remember the engine in my 200SX making a knocking noise and I never got to the bottom of it. Checked the pistons, conrods, big ends, oil pump, everything but didn't find anything wrong. I gave up in the end and bought another engine. Is it a loud knock?

Yo Bro (DaveMac), maybe you could get that 99 spec front spoiler too, it looks 100 times better than the older one.

I think so long as you take it easy in the wet and have constant awareness of what you / the car is doing when you're booting it, you're OK. If you forget yourself then you're fooked! I've managed OK without TC up to now (fingers crossed mind!), I sold it about 3 months back! I found that even with the TC, you could still lose it on corners if you gave it too much gas.

SOunds like a good idea to me although you might struggle to get at the oil/water pipes to/from the turbo. Best of luck with it

I was driving through the village in which I live when I noticed a Ferrari 360 waiting to pull out of a junction. He was indicating to go in the opposite direction to me, but when I passed he followed me. As soon as I reached the national speed limits, I booted it! I couldn't shake him though but then again, he had an extra 100BHP! I turned up another road & he continued to follow me, so I floored it again burning cars off for fun, about 14 from what I can remember! Although he was keeping up with me, he obviously didn't feel he had enough power or lacked the balls pass me. On one long straight I booted it up to about 115mph, if he was going to pass he could have done it there but he didn't. Anyway, about 8 miles later I'd reached my destination, so I turned off the road & to be fair he gave me a wave in acknowledgement. I thought that given the power difference I did quite well there, lol :dance: :dance: :dance:

It'll cost you £1200 plus to get an autobox reconditioned whereas it'll only cost you £600 to get a manual box done. My car was an auto before I converted it to manual & whilst I did enjoy driving it before, there is no comparison. My car is much more fun to drive now!

It could well be your propshaft out of balance, that seems to be a common problem or maybe the center bearing is on it's way out. Have you had any work done on the car that may have required prop removal? I ask this because the propshaft has to be re-installed using a specific method. Failing that, it could be anything really, knackered ball joints, cv joints, track rod ends. Does the noise come and go or is it constant regardless of whether you're accelerating/decelerating or going straight/cornering?

To put the record straight, that post was put up by my brother!:( So my car, i.e. ShaunMac's car is actually OK! Although I do have sympathy for him, I'm not happy about the fact that he's used my username to post this thread, especially as it was signed with my name and given the fact that I'm trying to sell my car!!! I must confess that I have let him use my username and password a couple of times in the past to help him out with the car, but now I've suggested that he creates his own username and password to save any confusion and so as not to upset paying members. I was driving home tonight and reached Brittania Bridge to go into Anglesey but the traffic came to a halt 400 yds before it goes into 1 lane. A few seconds later I heard the sound of locked up wheels and looked in my rear view mirror only to see a fookin Fiesta flying towards me. I immediately floored it but heard the inevitable bang before I got up to speed. The guy had only passed his test 2 days ago. Anyway the Fiesta is a write off and the Z will need the rear quarter panel, nearside cluster and bumper replacing at least. Has anyone else had this amount of damage and did the insurance company write it off?? Shaunmac's brother
