  1. Right, thanks. Next job, strip the starter......
  2. Thats a good point Jeff, the starter does stick on. When this happens, if you turn the engine off, the starter keeps cranking the engine. now my thinking is that the solenoid is sticking some how because the battery amps are not enough for a clean start and it some how over heats and sticks. Im not sure and think that the starter could do with being checked out. Is it possible to strip the starter down for a good clean?
  3. yes, its sealed. next time it happens, i'll jump start from another car and if the problem goes away....that should confirm things.
  4. Thanks guys for confirming my thoughts.... Should I get another 25 or a bigger 30...?
  5. Firstly I have a Red Top 25 battery fitted. When I first installed it (2009), it worked just fine but sometimes, the engine won’t turn over – you just hear the solenoid click and the instrument lights dim. On occasion, when this happens the solenoid sticks on. Other times, the engine will turn straight away and start just fine. Or it can start just fine and the starter stays on with the engine running. My gut feeling is that I think I may need a larger battery with more Cranking Amps. Or do I need to strip the starter down and give it a good clean? Is that even possible? Any opinions welcome.
  6. When I next change the coolant, i'm going for Waterless coolant As for oil i use: Diff & G.Box: Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil Engine oil: Silkolene PRO S 10W-50 Ester Synthetic Oil For High Performance Engines Oil filter: K&N Performance Oil Filter But my car only runs on the track....
  7. To check if they are 100%, you’ll have to take them out and send them away for testing. This will tell you if they meet the manufactures specifications. Or just buy some new ones depending on the cost of the testing. If you just want to check that they are working, take a look at the injector section here: http://home.swipnet.se/e-solutions/IdleTech2.html
  8. Any chance of a link to that?
  9. Wrapped the rear bumper. Hardest part to wrap so far. Took 4 hours. Just going to bed now as I'm in work at 8.....
  10. Like a Greddy Profec B Spec II 2 Boost Controller. That's what I use. can't fault it.
  11. Nice, job. I did mine last year and those subframe bushes are a nightmare, drilling, burning, sawing. Ended up using a dremel to get them out. It's like a never ending onion! Fitted all solid in mine, all driftworks arms and poly bushes on the bits left. Yet to take her out on the track, but should be interesting when i do. Anyway, this thread is not about me. Well done! :thumbup1:
  12. Been a slow few days on the car but managed to wrap the other Targa tonight.
  13. Got it from http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk. They were really good at sending samples out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Sat at my desk, at work in Coventry..
  15. In this shot you can see the seat mounts and harness points
  16. Think it was about £750 - £800 (back in 2009). That included driver and passenger seat mounts and 6 point harness mounts, collection and delivery (they are quite close to me). Fantastic job to be honest and all MSA certified.
  17. Here is my half cage http://www.customcages.co.uk/Rollcage/LoadRollCage.castle?manufacturer=Nissan&model=300ZX&type=Multipoint
  18. I have a six point if that is of interest....
  19. Would love to join in but it looks like it's for road legal cars and mines got no tax, insurance or MOT. Not planning of getting it either.... Maybe next year for me! Chris.
  20. Well, can't really answer that until I've finished. I bought 13m of green and 1m of black.
  21. thanks. it gets easier more you do. I started with the nose panel and then the bonnet. I'm going to redo the bonnet if i've enough vinyl left. Then the boot and pillars and the rear today. I'm sure a pro could do it all the rear end in one go but it's tricky on your own, so i'm doing it in 5 sections, rear, rear arches and the sills. It's a track car so i'm really not bothered about a few joins...
  22. took some close up pics of the roof wrap: and another day of wrapping
  23. Well, just sold this on eBay. Got £1.04......
  24. Yeah, the whole top is wrapped. only bit i did not do is around the 4 drain holes. I'll put some better pics tomorrow.
  25. Fitted the boot, took rear bumper off, wrapped the A Pillars and black wrapped the top. It's slowly getting there! More tomorrow....
