  1. Not sure if the manual kit i'm buying has original gearknob, just wondered if there's any links to nice aftermarket ones. I've seen a couple on here with a "ball" type knob in chrome, don't know where to get them. cheers in advance :)
  2. That is a real clean looking z, I love the interior. I wish i could read what he has to say though. Interesting to see what it fetches, last time i looked decent z's were fetching big money on mainland Europe. As said it could be to someones advantage here.
  3. To remove the cantre console, as far as i remember the stereo facia has to come out first by gently removing the screw cover at the top(right beneath the vents), remove two screws and gently pulling it out. Then there are two more screws at the top of the console. There are two wires for the o/d that need to be cut and reconnected for the razo gearknob i bought a while back, not sure if yours is the same .don't worry, they're easy to get at anyway.
  4. see your point there definitely. I spent 10 years in sales, not a nice cushy company car though, vans and small trucks doing massive mileage under pressure, that's why I really have a soft spot for auto's. One big pain though is people who say "love that car , pity about the automatic". I've tried explaining to people that it's not what you think, the auto's as quick as the manual and i've got the luxury of driving in traffic and all that but it makes no difference. can't wait to decide for myself. :)
  5. I've got kids too Greg, but these stickers really annoy me, as already said, as if it's going to make me drive any differently. I drive like miss daisy all the time so i'm told. they're just a free gift with pampers, peo ple don't actually buy them do they?
  6. just wondering as i'm about to go through the same thing. Be honest, do you miss the auto? in other words if you had enough dosh would you keep getting your autobox fixed? I reckon i'm going to miss that smooth 0-100mph kick you just don't get with a manwell
  7. wowa, not going through all the posts here but here's a message to all "baby on board" stickers. **** off
  8. yep the doors are a bitch, mine are now showing where i f*kd up. I'll have to redo them soon. Know where you're coming from, great job satisfaction :)
  9. nice one, i've gotta have those! even though it kills me to have to shop there i'll pop in tomorrow for a look.
  10. you can give out about grey tweed all you want but seats wise it keeps you held in a lot better on cornering :) Although mines now cream leather
  11. Cheers david that's the one i'm after. :duffer:
  12. p38's? is that the model i'm after? Thanks, i'll try znut and Paul
  13. Cheers, just looking on autotrader now. Some very nice 98-99 deisel models full spec leather and toys. All around the 5k mark, they seem superb value. In all fairness we moan about z prices but it seems to me rangerover owners must be in a major depression. The grandaddy of 4x4's and all that. Is it because of the fuel prices or environmental issues?
  14. I want to buy a deisel late noughties which will double as a work vehicle and a nice family car, been looking on autotrader, there's a lot there. Is there any certain spec or year i should avoid? Any help much appreciated
  15. http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=576730 shame about the crap photos. 13k eur0, guess around £8k would that sound right?
  16. Sweetness :duffer: That's the thing about it. I've been driving the old man's new range rover for the last 2 weeks (he's on hols and i've...borrowed it lol) great big luxury machine, but it just doesn't do it for me.The sound, the raw power, the pride of driving around in a z takes beating :)
  17. Errmm...let me think...nope! Our petrol might be slightly cheaper but other than that everything from parts to insurance is overpriced
  18. hi Elmo, in 8 years of z ownership i have found nissan to be the most unhelpful , expensive and downright stupid , even down to simple things like wheel nuts.As said Mike feeney (the legend himself) is your only man ;)
  19. please spare a thought for us irish members. 1100 euro , about £700 for our yearly road tax and we genuinely do have bad roads. i have driven UK roads a lot over the last ten years and I tell you , they are a damn sight better. SO STOP MOANING :nono:
  20. whatever it is, it looks like every other modern coupe or "sports car" on the road nowadays  every new car looks the same now :( get some stoned college grads back into those R&D depts.
  21. If it is i've never seen it. Interesting stuff. pity they couldn't pump the rear tyre of the convertible and give it a bit of a clean tho
  22. I share your sympathy fella, at least i've still got 1 and 2 sounds like yours completely *****xed
  23. hell what are the wheels made from, just a little puddle of goo but the middle bit left intact. very strange. And as said, what a shame to see a manual tt wasted for no reason. :(
  24. cheers guys, i've done a search but i've found nothing specific. Some do mention the bell housing is different, and theres something about the clutch pedal not being suitable, but for a mechanical dunce like me i need someone to say ok you've got your donor car and here's the other parts you'll need....then I can sort out the parts and let the mechanic sort it out.
  25. I've found a broken manual z not too far away . Only thing is it's n/a. If it does suit and i need other parts for the convertion would it make it messy, should i just hold out till I find a tt box? Any advice appreciated, thanks.
