good! Manual specifies resolution; 409,920 pixels (854(w) x 480(H)DOTS) X 3.........whatever the hell that means. So you reckon buy a hd player and not blue ray? worst car i owned ashamed to say was a nissan 200sx s13. Let me see.....two auto gearbox rebuilds,eventually manual convertion. 2 headgaskets and one engine. This was over 10 years ago when it was relatively new. When I think of what I spent repairing it....could've bought a couple of z's. Heap of shit. . At the time I thought it was so........ "special"....

I've got an LCD projector in my attic with a ginormous cinema screen. Thing is, the 25th anniversary edition of BLADERUNNER 5 disc box set is coming out soon and rumour has it that it will have a blue-ray version :hyper: . It would be worth the price of a ps3 alone for this as I can't wait!!!!! Thing is, would a blue ray disc played through a ps3 through projector onto canvas screen be better quality? I know you have to have HD ready for plasmas and LCD's , but not too sure how this would work out with a projector, does THAT need to be HD ready or something? Any advice appreciated.....................

Although si's would look better in the pics, It would be great to have a 99 spec such as Craig david's represent the Z32. didn't clarkson refer to it as an "80's Datsun" in the hot metal DVD after gio kicks everyone's ass? Just a thought as the our beloved z's should be represented as a 90's sportscar which carries on well into the noughties. I've seen some lovely 94-95 stock z's on here too, can't remember who they are though.

Just like to thank everyone's input on this thread. It has been very helpful and informative and changed my mind on selling. It just reminds me what a great bunch of people are on here to educate dunces like me on the workings of the motorcar.. I've taken a lot on board and I will go for a transplant soon when finances allow (story of my life). I'm in great form now :nana2:

Funny you should say that, I called them this afternoon and was told the very same thing. Said he only deals with mercs ,volkswagen and Audi now. He did give me the name of someone else in dublin who will want 2k for the job minimum............don't think so

Thanks for the advice folks but i just don't see the point in forking out big labour costs to replace a 16 year old autobox with another old autobox. I spent 1500 on my last z doing the very same thing and after 12 months it started acting up again. Manual convertion is the only way to go, and a better investment in my opinion.

yup, mines been like that since i owned it, just got used to it. It's a common thing seen it posted here few times before. 2nd to third just lazy

That's the thing, box has to be dropped , opened and repaired and put back in. I don't happen to know any decent mechanics who'll do this for a reasonable price. Labour alone would be 1k euros

Oil is fine, but your right , it's worth a shot to reset the ECU. I'm usually the person who'll be positive and pray it's a simple fixable fault, but having been down this road before with 300's and 200's my instinct is telling me the worst here. i'll disconnect the battery tonight, who knows? :D

It just "holds" second. That's the funny thing, i've had an autobox go on my last z and it made terrible grinding rattling noises when it was trying to engage third. This is completely different.
