  1. Had the very same problem before my autobox went bust, I was told the same it was sensors needed cleaning but i never got round to it or found out where they were. If you give Mike(Mr.F) at mjp a ring when he's recovered, he'll be able to help you.
  2. I kind of see your point with the country lanes, I live in a similar setting. But is a higher powered better handling car gonna solve your problem? Unless you own the road itself, buying a duller and more common car may not be the answer
  3. I don't know Gio and I hope he doesn't mind me posting this, but I think this needs to be said. His car has been sold and best of luck to it's new owner (he must be pinching himself lol).But...I have to give Gio the hightest of praise as an enthusiast. On the ebay auction gio didn't mention the clarkson thing till the very end, didn't have a big banner "my z was on top gear" etc.. which to be honest a lot of us including myself would have done so to get as much money as possible for the sale. Instead it was unselfish praise for the 300zx and both zclub and 300zx.co.uk. A lot of you might think it's just because z's are being sold for buttons so he had no choice, but i think he did a very honest ad without dressing it up even though it's one of the most cared for and maintained in both clubs. My hat is off to you Gio and best of luck with your other z :)
  4. They do look a bit lost on the rear end there, but guess at night when they're lit they probably look very well. I'm a 99spec fan (even though mine are home made) and I wouldn't say everyone's got them, as you pointed out £250 is pretty stiff. When somethings buggin you everytime you look at it it's time to say bye bye.
  5. Great to hear it Steve, i wasn't aware Mike had taken Ill. Speedy recovery to you Mike

Of course I knew that :o , damn thought there would be an uprising, would've been exciting :duffer:
  7. cheers for the advice :) one question. The bulbs themselves are wrapped in foam with a big bright sticker saying "DONT TOUCH BULB" given the tricky and tight bulb replacement in z's theres always the possibility you'll touch it off something if not your own hand. Are they more suseptable than ordinary bulbs? And do they last longer? Sorry ,that's 2 questions before someone points it out :)
  8. Personal taste aside, some people have great vision and brass balls to do what they do to cars. Some of the young modifiers of today are the design people of the future. I guess it's a credit to our little countries on this part of the world, that we pursue our love and passion for cars in horrible weather , speed cameras, cops hiding in ditches, fuel prices and crap roads.
  9. got mine today , looking forward seeing the difference, especially the winter is nearly upon us. They seem excellent value. I remember you couldn't get hid's for less than 200 last year. 100 odd quid is a big comedown
  10. Don't do it Stella, youll regret it the minute someone drives it down your road with a big grin on his/her face. I know what your going through, but when it's gone it's like missing a limb. I was having this conversation on the phone today .everything we spend on the car is dead money. Remember all those times you were excited about getting a new part for your z, regardless of cost, you know the pleasure it brings. Not for the person who will eventually buy it but for you, personally. If you do sell, expect the feeling of having lost something :(
  11. Theres a member on here (not mentioning any names) who i met last year, with a swb tt. It's taxed as a commercial. somehow the original importer into Ireland managed to pull a fast one i presume by claiming it was two seats and three doors .Don't know how, I wouldn't believe it until I saw the car and tax disc with my own eyes. 150euro tax. Tax for a z over here is normally 1120euro. So I know what your saying. It's quite likely you could get a tax office pleb on a monday morning and play dumb. Having said that, every Z I imported was thoroughly checked by the customs office, I'm still amazed how this guy managed it. And jealous lol!

  16. Wheres the best place to look? I don't want to order something which won't suit. I'm looking for the twin pipes stainless steel that looks like the stock setup, but a bit bigger and shinier and will fit snugly into my rear bumper. Been looking at ebay not sure if any of these will suit, i'll try and find a pic to post up of what' im looking for. found this one on ebay, pretty cheap at £64 but it's the shape i'm after. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I know stillen did one like this but too expensive. most of the exhaust is off the car at the moment ,thats why i'm thinking of changing.

definitely, especially if he can afford a mini cooper
  18. great news bud, looks like you got off easy this time :)
  19. That's it in a nutshell. What amazes me is they don't moniter these smaller firms or pull the plug on them. Fedex are a massive company worldwide so they should take responsability or kick ass. Just like mcdonalds with their franchises, if you open a resteraunt and provide poor service , they will just move in and shut you down to protect their "reputation". Same should apply to any multi-national company. on my last phonecall to them on friday I told the operator I wanted to speak to a manager. no joy , told her a week for a parcel which has been sent international priority is crazy, when fedex guarantee next day delivery. she wasn't bothered in the slightest, said very little and goodbye.
