  4. well spotted peach, i thought that too, was going to say it to the guy, It was in my view all the time I was in the car removing the interior bits. long story but I just didn't have time. It looked very clean from the outside though
  5. same here lol but there is NO WAY I would try that d.i.y job on the centre panel, life is too short :D looks the dogs on your z though Apache ;)
  6. That sounds    welcome back to your z!
  7. engine and gearbox still intact, there was no reason this couldn't have been kept on the road. The guy said he bought it for 1k euro (£650) 6 months ago and though it would be worth more broken :nono: A targa tt auto can bw worth more broken but not this. There isn't really a market in Ireland for braking z's anyway unless it's for yourself as spares I got the bits i needed , except for the front lights. he wanted £250 EACH  dumb and dumber
  8. just back from dublin where myself and Trish(tulip) went to see this car as i wanted some interior bits from it. we were a bit shocked to find it was a manual slicktop n/a badly neglected now being broken. no crash damage or anything, just a coil and propshaft problem a few months back . since then it has been hacked and pulled at and in a very sorry state. seems to have been hoisted by a forklift or something as both sides of the roof are badly dented in exactly the same place. Been sprayed a very weird colour too, was originally grey. we thought it an awful shame to see a rare z like this broken up
  9. happy birthday Mike! and get well soon
  10. hope this works.http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/illrp/illrp.html anyone got a pic of theirs lit up at night?

  12. yep, z owners are multi-talented.group hugs all round :)
  13. nice one. glad to see your sorted both of you. Stressful few weeks. As said there's decent genuine people on here ;)
  14. i've searched but still confused. i fitted a momo millenium 2 weeks ago. I have the wire for the horn, it's a yellow wire which I cut from the cruise/hicas/horn connector. if touch it to the body the horn sounds so that's straightforward enough. I'm not bothered with the cruise control so i've tucked the plug under the steering wheel. I got a hub kit which fits nicely onto the column, it was sold separately but by the same supplier rockshore.co.uk(something like that) so everything fits correctly. What I can't figure out is how to get the yellow wire through the hub onto the horn switch on the new wheel. There is a black (presumably earth) inside the hub, but there is no hole or access to feed the yellow one through. is there some other spring/connector that should go between the hub and steering column?
  15. # AAAAHHH ha ha ha ha ha , ...........ahhhhhhh ha ha ha ha (in a big scary voice)
  16. hi paul. This one i've had nearly 3 years which is the longest i've held onto one. been reliable everyday car, apart from autobox going, shocks, b.discs/pads. The one thing i'll say about the different z's i've owned is the engine itself. never had a problem on any of them. I'm quite surprised when i see cars on the forum with engine problems. just down to abuse by past owners i guess. Hope you see sense and keep that fire going
  17. looks like one of those scamthings they do with fridge magnets,
  18. don't be ridicu-.........ffs what's that smell? my skins on fire , see ya after dark
  19. Funkysi has a point. if the body and trim were in decent condition i would be tempted to take that back on the ferry just for spares. even if it coughed and died once i got it back it wouldn't matter.
