SC Christmas Meet 2nd December (last one of the year!)
:D Go on trish, you love being the "mammy" tell the truth :D Will you sort out the valium for the flight? a normal safe airline would require 1 tablet, but for ryanair i'll need something stronger, probably 3 tablets mixed with alcohol should do the trick ;)

My hard old shiney knob...
I like the gearknob si, looks like the momo apache (or something like that) I tried to get for mine but they were out of stock. Not sure on the steering wheel though (sorry!) kind of bumpy. The millenium looks so sweet and feels really good in your hands, the leather is top quality(bloody expensive though)

HELP! i've done something really stupid
got the ic's off today, one of them was bunged up with paper, the other was ok, just a little paper inside. I've chickened out and given the job to my mechanic, hopefully he'll get further in the pipework tomorrow

HELP! i've done something really stupid
That's what i'm hoping. that the paper is still scrunched in a ball somewhere along the line. I'm wondering does the piping get a lot narrower in places before it hits the tubs? If the z engine was anyway workable even a dope like me wouldn't have to keep asking these silly questions :( I used to think changing a fuse in the footwell was difficult :D

HELP! i've done something really stupid
The paper is the type on a roll in a public toilet you would dry your hands with, the industrial type. oh and cheers for the link Znut :duffer:

HELP! i've done something really stupid
Thanks stu, I borrowed one of those today and tried it for about 30 mins. Also tried the hoover again with a narrower flexible hose attatched. no luck. There is a tight angle about 2 feet in which I can't get past.

HELP! i've done something really stupid
ok heres where i'm at. I removed 2 pipes at the top to try and get to the 3rd one beneath them which i believe is the one the paper travelled through first.(impossible to get at still) There is evidence of shredded blue paper in the lower one. i didn't try and remove the bumper, i need to do a search here to find where all the bolts are first. while i was doing this a guy called to collect some stuff from me asked what I was doing , told him, he does amateur rallying so knows a bit about cars, told me the paper should just be shredded and burned don't worry about it. after reading znuts post and how chris@greddys car was fine and just chewed it up i decided to go for a spin. car will ramble along slowly but if i put the foot down nothing happens, won't go past 3000 revs. (yes i'm sure MAF is plugged back in). I can hear some vibrating, as if the turbos are trying. So yes , I may have made things worse, but i had to try it. The pic here shows exactly the amount of paper put in each vent. bumper has to come off, maybe things will make more sense then :(

HELP! i've done something really stupid
cheers for the help everyone, I went down to the workshop yesterday took a look at what i had to do and went home again pissed off. This wouldn't all be so bad if it hadn't taken the best part of 2 hours on saturday to remove that b*stard of a bolt (the rear inner one on the passenger side headlight) and getting the lights sorted, having practically finished the job at teatime then realising what i'd done. Im going to have to get off my arse and sort it today, i'm just shitting myself as i've not gone that far into the engine or removed stuff like that before. i'm out of my depth here. But then I remember feeling the same way about the heater matrix(cheers greg), fitting boost jets and other jobs i felt were way off my range. C'mon mick, stop talking and get to it :( :headvswal

Why are they dropping money so fast
i agree it's a shame, some day they will have their place in motoring history i've no doubt. it's such a good driver's car, but as pete said, 3ltr 15 year old cars are just not so popular now, and importers have flooded the market.

HELP! i've done something really stupid
i didn't realise until I was about to put the y tube back on. In between that I had started it a couple of times to turn the steering wheel for access to the bolts, it started fine and sounded fine, I havn't started it since i realised what happened

HELP! i've done something really stupid
:headvswal removing headlights to clean them today I stuffed some kitchen paper into top of both air intake pipes after removing the air filter and y tube so nothing would fall in there . Started pissing down halfway into the job so I started the engine to move it into the garage. Yes, you've guessed it, they've both been sucked in there :headvswal i've tried using a bit of flex attatched to the hoover to suck them back out with no luck. i'm almost too embarrassed to ask but where have they gone and how much damage have I done?

Is downloading music right or wrong
yes, but that's the big players. What about the little guys of the future? Will they have to gig their arses off for 10 years to stay afloat? i'm just worried wonderful talent will be lost because no money will be made from producing and crafting an "album" (maybe that word will die too) because of the costs involved which can't be redeemed. Someone somewhere needs to put something in place where as if person/persons have a driving ambition to create original music, take it to a producer , studio , spend a fortune, their investment will have a turnaround so they can keep on creating music. as soon as record companies start taking a big loss they'll be off, as they can't take a billion or so people to court I recently read that radiohead released an album solely online, asking fans to pay whatever they could to download it, or pay nothing at all. Most payed nothing at all......

It,s only took 3 years .........
It's all about quality not quantity :D (you asked for it :duffer: )!

Is downloading music right or wrong
I'm troubled. I've been paying for vinyl, tapes and cd's for the last 20 years so I have no guilty concience about taking a few quid from greedy record companies.I've given them £££££££'s over the years. But I feel for artists of the future, where's the incentive? Ok, for some it's not all about money. now i've literally got a jukebox that cost me 20 quid for a years subscription with every song ever recorded on it :hyper:  It's a double edged sword, one way i feel i've won the music lottery, the other side of me feels guilty of "stealing" but i only look for older tracks from years back which I could never get my hands on. that's how it started, now i'm addicted. :D The software i'm using has "shared" tagged to all the tracks, is this a "get out clause" or something, to make me feel i'm not stealing it, jusy sharing with 4 billion of my friends? i know i'm probably one of the last few on the planet to download music, and i still don't understand how all this works , but it won't stop me from the old fashioned browsing, holding it in my hand, taking it home and sticking it on. :duffer: i'd like some opinions from you guys..

£1000.00 Road Tax
No-one should have to pay that much road tax, but to be honest it looks like it's happening in every part of the world. You guys have had it good for a long time, but something has to change soon. the greens and tree lovers are going to make sure of that. I don't think the UK government will be as hard as £1000 though There may be a bright side to it for you guys :x: yes, we pay 1200euro (around £800) for 3ltr, and it's been like that for years. But it will get rid of all the sheds that are about. 300's, supras etc. will become a rarer sight, and the ones you will see will more likely be well cared for and maintained. And if you only drive your z for the summer then maybe you can tax it for a few months like we can do over here, (it's the only way I can afford it) it will put a stop to all the cheap z's being sold and passed on time after time, as anyone buying will be a lot more picky knowing what road tax will cost them. this is probably a crap point of view but theres a bright side to everything :nelson:
