Hey there guys,

i sold my zx about a year ago now for business reasons above all and i did think i wanted somthing else, but after a few now theres not much that drives as well as the zed and i have to admit that i miss it.

I came on here for the 1st in a while and am suprised how much they have dropped in price since i sold mine to wales and i thought i was robbed!!

wot is wrong with people that they just dont love these?? :headvswal

Mine was a mint uk manual and low miles on the clock drove like new and i regret selling it now! As i just dont think i will ever pick one up as clean again

Heres Lookin at u all from Northern Ireland

All cars drop in price as they get older.

especially thirsty 3 litre cars that are 15 odd years old.

Nearly all UK cars are rusty. Some just dont show it on the outside YET. But they are rotting from the inside.

They are complex and expensive to repair and maintain and garages charge more as wages and overheads increase.

Nearly all Jap imports have dropped too as the market is virtually flooded with cars as more and more dealers import now. Competition forces them to accept lower margins.

No surprise really. The UK has an oversupply of all s/h cars. So down go the prices even more.

Yep i can accept that deprecation happens but im not talking about rust bucket sunnys etc. There are cars that hold there value and over a period of time may even be on the increase again. Im talking about well looked after cars even within the uk.

You dont have to go to japan to buy a clean zx

My main point is why do people not take onto these cars. If you go onto the supra site etc there is a lot more for sale holding better figures with more intrest

I think it'll be down to the mod-ability of a supra........and more people prefering the design/styling of them.

I dunno

i agree it's a shame, some day they will have their place in motoring history i've no doubt. it's such a good driver's car, but as pete said, 3ltr 15 year old cars are just not so popular now, and importers have flooded the market.

Supra's have lost there price too. Can pick up NA's or £2000'ish now, whereas last year you were looking at £4k

But it is true that modified examples of other cars do fetch higher prices. But saying that there have been at least 4 zed's that I know of that have sold for £8k+ over the past year,

There seem to be less and less Z32s coming over. Because they are virtually worthless over here comparatively on a general scale, it makes it commercially unviable to bring any over. NA Autos are selling for as little as £1k - £1500 and TT Autos for as little as £2k. It what point does it become a loss making venture. I know Z32s are cheap in Japan, but the average prices are equalling out. With the cost of shipping and tax being nearly £1k per car, it just isn't economical anymore.

I think we'll see the shipment of Zs from Japan all but dry up soon.

Yep, absolutely...but what your seeing now being imported is Highly tuned examples and late model Slicktops and SWB's becuase they fetch a premium instead of the older standard LWB's.

Agreed to a certain extent, but the nice premium tuned examples are actually LWB!!...most of them anyway. M30Z was built as SWB, but the one that's ended up here soon is LWB and so is the Pentroof, it's what all the Nissan race teams went for.

Even SWBs aren't really fetching an awful lot more money than 2+2s anymore.

you look at supra's been sold they are modded you look at zeds been sold they are stock (most are) there are far fewer modded zeds for sale cause people are keeping them. but as said a well modded zed goes for over £8k and i would pay that or more for a well modded zed (Wink, Wink _cj_ )

Depends HOW it's been modded. Mechanically modded is good and will sell with uprated parts, but some multicoloured monstrosity with half a boat grafted onto it with silly doors isn't likely to sell that quickly IMHO.

i ment modded not "keved up" there are some shite looking zeds out there with weetabix boxes glued to them and a ferarri badge :slap: :mac1:
