Was central locking fitted as standard?
Yeah, I figured it must have come as standard, it would be mad if they didn't. It looks like an additional actuator has been fitted to the old (92) Zed door, and that's what appears to be missing from my project Zed door. Cheers, looks like I'll be swapping the doors! :)

Was central locking fitted as standard?
So, I just noticed that the doors from my old (92) Zed have a lot more going on inside of them than the doors on my project (90) Zed. I havent had time to investigate, but I think I've come to the conclusion that my project (90) Zed doesnt have central locking. My old (92) Zed had remote central locking through the Toad. My project (90) Zed has no alarm, so I'm wondering if it was something that came with the alarm. I had thought all Zeds came with central locking as standard? I'm sure one of you good people know the answer? I've already looked at http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm, but it doesn't covered it, just remote CL.

LOL, had Quest on in the background and the advert came one literally a minute ago. It is Supercar Superbuild and starts Thursday 16th on Quest.

New Supercar TV show?
I think it's just the Discovery Channel show, but on Quest. I'll keep a look out. At least I know what it's called now. Thanks! :)

NA clutch slave cylinder
So even if I can't get into first, I can still use this technique?

New Supercar TV show?
Hey, I'm sure there was meant to to be a new TV show on tonight, about designing and building super-cars. I saw a brief advert, only caught the end, but there was a Zonda. I looked interesting. I think it was on Quest, but not sure, at about 8pm or 9pm. Anyone else know what I'm talking about, as I can't find it? Beginning to think I dreamt it! lol

NA clutch slave cylinder
At the time I couldn't select a single gear, and was stuck in neutral. Just in case this happens again, what do you mean drive it without the clutch? I just realised that I didn't actually answer the original question. There is a list here, which might help- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Print-ADN13628-CLUTCH-CYLINDER/dp/B00B8W5UAO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1428527894&sr=8-4&keywords=slave+cylinder+300zx The Terranno has already been mentioned, but FORD MAVERICK 2.7DT is also an option, apparently.

NA clutch slave cylinder
Yes, I agree, if replacing both master and slave (or even if you're not) just run a direct line from the Master cylinder the the slave. I did this with my NA, though still a hard pipe, and I've done it with my rebuild TT clutch setup. You can get a flexi pipe for somewhere between £20 - £30. If you can, replace both, as it's no fun when the clutch pedal hits the floor with no pressure and there's nothing you can do but sit there. Fortunately I was close to home, and it turned out to be the master. Oddly enough, had to replace the master cylinder on my TT clutch setup recently....maybe I'm cursed.

Master Brake Cylinder
I have a fully working NA one if it helps, also available cheap. At least it was working when it removed from the car a year ago.

Rubbing off the bobbly bumps around the bottom of my Z
Well, maybe I'll do the bumpers, and leave the actual car.

Rubbing off the bobbly bumps around the bottom of my Z
Hmm, I'm kinda thinking about leaving it now. If it ultimately going to look worse, is it really worth the effort?

Rubbing off the bobbly bumps around the bottom of my Z
Sounds like a bigger job than I had thought. I think it will look way better, so worth it. Cheers :)

Rubbing off the bobbly bumps around the bottom of my Z
Hey, I know many have smoothed off the original bobbly bits in the paintwork around the bottom of their Zeds. I plan to do the same. Is it hard to do, am I going to need a sander, or will good old elbow grease be enough, or will that take forever? Cheers!!

What did you do to your zed today?
I got my Zed off the jacks first time in 2 years, then drove her about 3 meters back and forth. The clutch needs further bleeding it seems, as my foot was on the floor and it was still notchy changing. The brakes don't seem to do anything without really pumping the pedal, so more bleeding... For some reason there wasn't any power steering, when I checked there wasn't any fluid, despite filling it up, maybe it emptied the reservoir and needs topping up. The main thing is she moves, and it felt good! :D I actually forgot how low Zeds are, at fist I thought something was wrong! lol

Master Clutch Cylinder
Thanks, that may come in useful. When I got the shell, the clutch cylinder was just laying in the bottom of the engine bay. It didn't look too good, but I cleaned it up and installed it. Everything else checks out, so it has to be the cylinder, but given the shape it was in I'm not surprised it's dodgy. This is the third year of my build...I just want to get her moving! :)

Master Clutch Cylinder
I admit it does look 'cheaper' that the OEM part. I've had no luck finding a repair kit on Z Center or anywhere else...except the US. I'll take mine off on Saturday, I may be able to get away with replacing the seals, which are on Ebay. Cheers.

Master Clutch Cylinder
Hi all, I haven't posted in a while, but the weather is improving and we're getting more than 4 hours of daylight now, so project Z should recommence this weekend. I just wanted to check, can anyone see why this wouldn't fit - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jakoparts-J2501044-Master-Cylinder-Clutch/dp/B00FAIJLPC/ref=sr_1_cc_6?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1423745051&sr=1-6-catcorr&keywords=300zx+master+clutch The price just seems too good to be true. Cheers!

How to remove the quarter panel trim?
Be very gentle when taking them out, in my experience it doesn't take a lot to break them.

What's wrong with people.....
No boulder for me, but I had a similar incident with those fold down balards. I guess they were for residential parking, stop people stealing your parking bay. Even when folded in the up potition they're only small. The one I reversed into was grey, about 1/2 menter in height. and it was a poorly lit street. I had seen them when I parked up (not in somones bay), was sure they were all down, obiosuly not... I wanted a bag of chips badly...otherwise wouldn't have even been parking in that street.

Transplant advice, V5 and DVLA wise, what do I do?
Thanks all, I'll work something out, I don't have to worry about it right now, either way I will be getting my car on the road, haven't come this far for nothing! Cheers! :)

Transplant advice, V5 and DVLA wise, what do I do?
This is interesting, and a possibly the way to go. So you mean amend my 92 Zed V5 with the VIN from the new shell and send it to the DVLA, is that what you did? If that works then great, however if it doesn't I imagine it could cause problems... I imagine they checked yours on the system and it came up scrapped, which is why they wrote to you to confirm, I'm just surprised they didn't ask why, or investigate further.
-
Transplant advice, V5 and DVLA wise, what do I do?
Yes, the VIN is present on the bonnet landing panel, and was visible on the bulk head, but is now coated in two coats of think paint, so would probably have to sand down... However, technically the car with that VIN was scrapped, so wont it show up as such? I totally understand why it would be illegal to mix and match chassis and parts, in the case of cut and shut etc, stolen cars and accident damaged cars etc...but there really should be an exception in cases like this, without having to go down the kit car Q plate route. I'm not desperate to sort this out (but will need to) as the car isn't finished and wont be until next year, it only came about as I was about to call a breaker to ask them if they wanted my rotten shell. I noticed their website explained they would need the V5...and here I am in this nightmare.
