  1. Ok, just been outside (its colds outside), both calipers are cast iron. It looks like the new caliper also has a new disc, but the other side looks older, so likely only one disc was replaced. I still want to measure them to be sure but I think I need 280mm x 30mm discs.
  2. I lied! This was my first car... I used it to get to this Earth when I was but a boy! :tongue_smilie:
  3. Ooops...duplicate post...deleted.
  4. I think I should have 30mm Iron calipers with 280mm x 30mm discs.
  5. I read about various thickness and size depending on the year of the car. So I think I need to do some measuring first to find out whats on mine and confirm the year of the car.
  6. Thanks guys. After further digging around on the forum I've discovered that N/A discs are a pain in the a*s! Maybe TT calipers would be the way to go... I now have concerns that I have one aluminium caliper and one cast iron... One caliper was replaced just before I bought the car, the original looks cast iron, the new one looks aluminium. Guess I'll go stick a magnet on them. Ahh!
  7. I think I'm going to have to get some discs and pads as I have terrible brake judder, especially coming down from higher speeds. Anyway saw these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-N-A-V6-FRONT-DRILLED-GROOVED-BRAKE-DISCS-/390081936649?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ad2b1fd09#ht_2329wt_905 I assume they're 5 stud and the pic is for illustration only, I'd have to check this. Just wondered if anyone had used these before?
  8. VW Polo C Coaster 1.0 (1983) (First car, loved it, even though it didn't work very well) Fiat Tipo 1.4 (Had a cool digital dash, so had to buy it) Citroen ZX 1.4 (Just bought it cause I needed a car fast, but was real fun to drive!) Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 CDI (First real mod car) Ford Probe 2.5 V6 (Got hooked modding and fixing) Ford Mondeo 1.8 Verona (Just a A to B car) Ford Cougar 2.0 (Had plans, but killed car....) 300zx 3.0 V6 N/A Not many it seems....
  9. I chose to use Dot 4 due to the whole Dot 5 and 5.1 confusion. I think the US call 5, 5.1 or something like that which doesn't help online as so much info is US based. Then consider that Dot 5.1, isn't compatible with Dot 3 and Dot 4.... Ok, so 5.1 has a higher boiling point but as I don't plan to do 100mph from starting the engine to parking up I didn't really see the need. Just didn't seem worth it to me, plus its more expensive...
  10. I use Dot 4 brake fluid. I plan to replace my gearbox oil (manual) with Redline MT90, as recommended on the forum. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b539s1733p6952&rs=gb
  11. Yeah, whats up with the damn birds! I've noticed this too. I've even been going to bed at around midnight and noticed them tweeting! The birds are malfuntioning!
  12. I think I need to go a lower my tyre pressures then...ooops... :sweatdrop:
  13. Found this on Ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-300zx-1990-1996-NAVAN-rear-spoiler-/390288631642?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5adf03e75a Would look nice on after a google image search, sticks out a mile!
  14. What is normal pressure? I inflated mine until they looked right against the road, which seemed to be no less than 3.0 bar.
  15. They seem to have used something similar in the removal guide...at least it looked like it...thought it was washing line until now. I just used man strength once I had some of it free. Yank it hard and true!
  16. I'd estimate around 3.5 bar. I have 3.2 bar in my 17s and it looks about right, tread on road wise.
  17. CG Thundercats movie that was cancelled -
  18. Yeah, I'm currently experimenting. £20 normal unleaded gets me about 50 miles town driving, with the odd free run when there is no traffic... Least night I put £22 V Power in, so about 16 litres again. We'll see if it makes a difference. Acceleration felt much better with V Power. 50 miles to £20 seems average, though I'm NA, not TT...so maybe should have bought a turbo!!
  19. Yeah...same here...attracts young boys...not hot girls as hoped. lol One kid I spoke to compared my Zed to a Ferrari. I explained it wasn't quite as fast as that.
  20. Hmm, maybe a MAF problem.. Someone else may have a better idea.
  21. Yep, drove with my roof off for the first time today. It felt good, but turned out to be cold after all. lol
  22. Good news everyone, I think my fuel light does work! Intentionally I drove until I got 50 miles out of my £20 fuel from empty, I was determined to have at least 50 miles! I parked up and for a moment I'm sure I saw the petrol pump symbol on the guage light up! It lit up only for a moment whilst the petrol sloshed about. Is the pump symbol the low fuel light? I was expecting a normal light to come on, not for the symbol to illuminate! It's very exciting. lol
  23. Mine sometimes gets stuck. Are you sure it hasn't actually released and is just stuck. Try gently levering it with a screw driver maybe whilst getting someone to press the release.
  24. There definitely is a ventilation / drain in that area.
  25. Sadly not a Z32...but almost... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRANSFORMERS-ALTERNITY-BLACK-MEGATRON-FAIRLADY-Z-A-02-/370475193304?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item56420ad3d8#ht_4463wt_905
