Tracking - My car wont go on there ramps!?
There's a guy not far from here, an independent guy, he has ramps but not sure if he does tracking etc, but worth a shot. Do you think I should play around with the tracking myself, just a few turns, or am I likely to make things worse? Surely all those laser guided things are just for show, like xmas tree lights! lol :P

Well...at least I'm not the only one...lol

Tracking - My car wont go on there ramps!?
So went to get a new tyre valve fitted (as it was leaking) and also get my tracking done as she's pulling to the left... So off to National Tyres and Autocare who I've used many times in the past. First the guy couldn't disarm the alarm / immobiliser to start the car, so ok...I go out and explain this and he starts the engine and drives in. About 5 - 10 mins later the guy explains he cant get the wheel off, as they don't have a socket small enough to fit around the nut (which is fair enough, as the space around the nut is simply too small to fit normal sockets in, but this IS a garage!), so I give him a socket I borrowed from my dad, perhaps the only socket in the world that fits. lol New valve fitted, he pulls my Zed up to the ramp, another guy watching for him, only to tell me that my Zed won't fit on the ramps! Surprised; I ask "too wide?" he explains its the skirts, by which he means the front bumper (in retrospect I'm wondering if he mean't my sideskirts, but then he didn't even manage to get the front end on, so that doesn't make any sense). He explains he can't reverse the car on either, though he didn't try this. So I asked if he knows anywhere that can do it but he doesn't. My car is running stock suspension (as far as I'm aware, the shocks / springs don't look special in anyway). So I had to leave....car still pulling to the left. Guess I'll try Kwik Fit which is up the road from work... Never expected this. Anyone else have this problem?

Start of a misfire? Suggestions?
Should the injectors have proper plugs on the end of each wire? Mine look to be just spade connectors.

Air Con Recharge valve?
Hmm, I turned the temp down all the way then switched to 'Auto' followed by Economy and both were around the same temperature, if not the same. Though actually a lot colder than I expected as its been a fairly warm day. So I think I need a whole re-gassing.

Air Con Recharge valve?
Cheers, Yep, I just fond this in the manual - http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/s.manual/ha/021.gif Doesn't look as straight forward as connecting a recharge canister....

Air Con Recharge valve?
I've searched the forum and did find a thread about this, but then it went off topic about a V8 Capri without really answering the question... lol  I've looked at the engine diagram (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=207420&postcount=1) but no hope there. So where is the valve to recharge the air con? :surrender: Cheers

Cheers! I'll go through all of those. I really hope its not an injector...

Start of a misfire? Suggestions?
Ok, I had noticed a slight random misfire at idle...but wasn't overly concerned, not yet. However, a few times now from starting the engine (only noticed when hot so far), when I pull away the engine misses badly, only firing on 5 cylinders I think. This only lasts about 20 seconds, then its fine (though the random misfire at idle remains). This is starting to annoy me and I'm worried a bigger problem looms. I hate misfiring over all car problems. I've just looked at the coil connections, they look ok. I haven't pulled plugs yet. This the first car where I've had individual coil packs for each plug, so this is new to me. Are these symptoms familiar to anyone, could this be a PTU problem? Cheers!

Pinion gaiter?
Hmm, I think I'll try the super glue option first then! :) Cheers!
-
Pinion gaiter?
Hey, can anyone tell me where I can get one of these gaiters - Mine is now it two halves and all the grease has come out. Am I accurate to call it the pinion gaiter? I don't suppose these come in split glue-able form? Cheers!

- Seat re-trimming guide
Here are some random pics from the big event, not in any order really. I had considered a guide myself, but seems a little pointless given there already is one. Still...maybe these pics will help someone somehow. I'd like to take this oportunity to thank Vodkashots for the doner seat! :thumbup1:- Seat re-trimming guide
Hey, Everyone might know about this, but if not... http://www.websure.co.uk/car/300zxretrim.htm I gave it a quick skim before doing my drivers seat, but once you start it's all pretty obvious and straight forward, though VERY time consuming. I recommend the extended LotR Trilogy to help you through it. Seriously, once you've stripped one seat and re-trimmed another; it makes you feel like Frodo had it easy!! Nice tip on the cable ties, liked that idea, very helpful. You really need Circlip pliers, without them you'll be on a week. On stripping my seat I discovered the main rear bar had snapped, it had been welded at both sides by someone else, it had gone at the weld, so basically it had collapsed. The new seat feels so supportive in comparison.- Fitting a Car.Mad spoiler skin?
I'm going to have to look at it. I would have thought it would stick out too far if it does wrap under the tailgate lip. I would love to smooth it in, but I need to keep things cheap at the moment. I will in the future when things improve....fingers crossed...- Fitting a Car.Mad spoiler skin?
It look real nice! Looks nice even pre-paint! Yep I really need to smooth mine in, but later when I have some money. Did you just use Tiger Seal, nothing else holding it on?- Fitting a Car.Mad spoiler skin?
Pics would be great! I think I know what you mean, the side 'limps' on the lip. The thing is it looks like it was specifically made that way to cover the bolt holes, which is why I felt I shouldn't cut them off. Cheers!- Fitting a Car.Mad spoiler skin?
Ok, I finally got around to painting my skin spoiler and I plan to attach it next weekend. I was planning to use Tiger Seal, or something like it, unless someone tells me otherwise? The things is the skin has a lip underneath, it looks like it should wrap around the bottom lip of the tailgate, covering the original rear right and left bolt holes. There isn't any give in the fibre glass, so not sure how I'm meant to do this. I've considered cutting this lip off, but really if I can get it wrapped around the tailgate it would look better and cover the bolt holes from the inside too, probably addding strength also. Has anyone fitted a skin, if so hows it done? If it makes any difference I'm not filling and smoothing it into the tailgate, not yet anyway...- cycle rack UPDATED
The fit looks good yeah. Once I had mine attached I just had a good hard pull back and forward, up and down and side to side... It's not going anywhere! :)- cycle rack UPDATED
I wanted to use the tow eyes too, but it was a poor fit. I actually hooked them to the inner lip inside the bumper, which I didn't think would be very secure, but it was! TBH it really was the only place they could go...- cycle rack UPDATED
These might help -- cycle rack UPDATED
I've fitted a rack, a universal one, against the bumper and the tailgate. Though I don't have a spoiler at the moment and replacing with a skin spoiler. I think you could probably get away with the OEM spoiler, but the rack might rub. I don't advise fitting it against the back window, you're just asking for trouble putting that amount of weight on the window.- Just purchased these babies from eBay,what do you think
Hmm, have you seen the Q&A from the Saxo guy who doesn't know what a 300ZX is? "The wheels were spotted by a motor enthusiast and he took pictures and sent them to the NISSAN 300zx owners club to which they ran with." - Seat re-trimming guide
