  1. Very interesting given my boot light nor interior lights work! Looks like I'm stripping the boot this weekend! :) Thanks!
  2. My Toad keeps chirping to tell me the boot or bonnet isn't closed, its obviously the switch. I cleaned and checked the bonnet switch, seems fine, so must be the boot switch. But where is the damn thing? :confused1:
  3. I guess I could cram some cable up the holes and some around the top, but there's no way the full bulk of the cable is going under the main allen bolt, not without looking a mess anyway.
  4. Very shiney, if I use them they'll show up my engine bay! lol The end holes are about 6 or 7mm, but they're the auxiliary connectors. I guess the Allen bolt on top is the main connector.
  5. I ordered myself some nice battery clamps / terminals, but they're just for Audio installs aren't they, I cant use these in the engine bay? :o
  6. There are some skirts for sale in the For Sale section, I think they're the same as mine. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=145720
  7. I feel for you, I've had audio equipment stolen in the past...the first time they couldn't get the headunit out (I had made sure no one could) so instead trashed it, ripped of the front and destroyed it internally, that really pi**ed me off. Another time they nearly had my V6 Ford Probe, destroyed the lock but the alarm activated when they were trying to unlock through the hole. Later the car was trashed by vandals... It's probably doesn't really help but get her fixed up, clean her up all shiney new and try to forget about it.
  8. If you do decide to adjust the clutch pedal, this is what you're looking for - Never thought I'd use this photo....
  9. Oh believe me, the ferreting has begun, but will officially begin soon. I love digging around. Only today I discovered the rear seat partially folds down, but also that the passenger foot-well is made of wood!?! None of this was half as exciting as discovering my wing-mirrors fold in! :) I was very excited when that happened. lol
  10. Oh good, I wont worry about it then!
  11. I have enough threads going already...but learning about the car so cant be helped. This is another quicky.... I read in another thread that import owners should have a certificate. Well, I don't have one. Do many others have a certificate, and does it really matter. I have the red V5 and my car was imported in 1990 if memory serves. As far as I know I'm legal. :shifty:
  12. Well, I'd say its thick enough. I do need to go on a search, for this an other reasons. My rear speakers don't seem to do anything though appeared to be wired up when I pulled out the headunit that came with the car. An adaptor hasn't been used, its all 'hard wired' in. I can sort it out, just a pain... It's weird, I, for some reason, get a kick out of working out the mysteries of the cars past and making it right. Once I've had a car a year I normally know every square inch/cm. Sometimes you have to wonder though...
  13. I'm still waiting for my pack too but know of the backlog so fine with it. However, I believe the pack comes with a tax disc holder, can anyone tell me if its a nice one? I need one you see but have been holding back buying one as I knew one was coming with the pack.
  14. No sign of the yellow at the rear, but I imagine you might be right as there is a hole where a switch used to be. Well, if I find something not working then I'll know where to look first. I think the car has had a hands free kit fitted (and removed) at some point, so it might be something to do with that.
  15. A HID maybe the most logical choice then. Though I read on another thread that after-market kits will be an MOT fail in the future? Only thing is my headlight wiring is a mess, so maybe I'll stick with some 55w bulbs until I can look at it. The current bulb in there isn't even in correctly, it's just jammed in there, clip is mangled. Whoever did this needs shooting! Cheers everyone, at least I have options but ill be avoiding dark motorways for a little longer! lol
  16. I can just stick these in without any conversion of anything right? http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H3C-ABD-Extreme-White-100W-Xenon-Pair.html?source=webgains&siteid=47683 Stupid question maybe, just want to be sure before I order. Cheers!
  17. I feel a need to comment as I'm on the front line sort to speak.. I'm 31 (32 in 6 days...need a new spoiler ) with a 11 year old daughter (12 in a couple weeks) and its scary how different things are. I had the net, although a very different net, at about 12 / 13 (actually asked for a subscription for Xmas! It wasn't cheap then, lol). Things are a lot different though, I've watched my daughter and her friend all chatting on Facebook...talking about and to boys...its scary how quick they grow up now. An online existence is second nature to them, along with texting an so on... I'd say she was spoiled in terms of tech etc...but the fact is they all have so its just normal, thought there is competition with mobiles... As for the music...yep, even at 31 I still hear revamped dance tunes I listened to as a kid, before I learnt that rock and metal was the ultimate music evolution. ^_^ Things were more 'real' in the 80's, kinda raw if you know what I mean, for me the beginning of modern day living, the 90's where things started going wrong, except for the creation of the Z32 of course. I think the last few years will be the foundation for future of tech, a glimpse of things to come. We're at the dawn of a technological evolution, not only with the actual tech but how the world operates socially. I think it will all conclude just like the movie Wall-E !! :)
  18. Thanks! Well it looks possible, finding one may be the problem.
  19. Just a quicky, has anyone successfully fitted a bike rack to their Zed? I've seen a tow bar with bike-holder attachment, but I don't think there is room for a tow bar due to my exhausts!
  20. Ok, so I was under my dashboard today, drivers side and discovered a couple of bare wires, one was red (and maybe white too) but small. The other was yellow and quite a thick one, also bare (this one is my main concern!). I also found a plug and socket, these don't look like they'll fit together, but the wire on the plug isn't long enough to reach. I know its a long shot, but if anyone knows if these should be connected (and to what) please let me know! :) Cheers!
  21. I drove my Zed today and it was good! Though still getting used to the insane decibels coming from my huge exhausts. The banjo went back into the clutch pedal fairly easily, the pin / circlip went back in easier than it came out, which was a real surprise. I topped up the master cylinder and let it run through using gravity then bled the master. All is fine there and nothing appears to be leaking. I even had time to change the oil afterwards! Thanks for all the help everyone!
  22. Hey! It's good to be here! Yep, I've been here since early December, but then the clutch master cylinder went followed by several weeks of snow and ice. I expect to finally drive my Zed again tomorrow, the petrol bill will be large! whoo! Location wise, hmm....currently and temporarily in a small village in Cramlington, up from Killingworth. I've been in Byker the last five years though, but having an early mid life crisis, so bought a Zed as I always wanted one. :balloon: Paul
  23. Yep, that's the one! Great thanks! Feel I'm going to need it.
