Engine diagram photo thread?
Hi, A few weeks back. whilst in the office, I found a photo of the engine bay, various parts labelled. As there is no Haynes the diagram was super useful, but now I cant find it again... Can anyone post a link for me? Cheers!!

Newbie needs help with clutch (floppy pedal) and rattle please!
Well, the new cylinder is on. The new pipe is in and connected to the flexi. Shields are back in place and all is bolted together. All I have to do is connect the clutch pedal and put in the fluid, check for leaks and bleed! I finally get to drive my car again tomorrow!!! :)

Great, roll on tomorrow. Just one last thing, why is the block there and all the extra pipe if I dont need it? I'm guessing its as the TT has a whole bunch of extra stuff in the wing for the cluch and so they just left it on the NA during the manufacturing process, if you know what I mean.

This makes a lot of sense! So bypassing the block wont mess anything else up? Then surely I can get rid of that other bit of bleed pipe in the wing?

I found a diagram, which has many blocks and I also have that other bit that comes out into the wing, for bleeding I think. Part 30655 is the block connector I'm refering to, but mine has another bigger pipe going into it, unless that is the bit that goes to the wing. http://img716.imageshack.us/i/nissan300zxclutchpiping.jpg

Meanwhile..... I got my master cylinder off today, it was not easy. This might just be the most fiddly annoying job I've ever done on a a car! Anyway, as I couldn't get to the pipe nut at the bottom of the cylinder I was forced to try and disconnect it at the flexi pipe connection under the car. However, even with a proper 10mm brake spanner I still managed to round it off, it simply wasn't budging. I finally managed to disconnect it using every tool known to man and brute force. I removed the bolts from the shield on the firewall and thought it would all pull up through the engine bay. How wrong I was. Long story short the master clutch cylinder is out, after snapping the pipe off and several finger. I've found that its not a single piece of pipe from the master to the flexi pipe, it joins into a weird block connector under the brake master cylinder! So I could have been disconnecting it from there all this time! So now I have to replace two pieces of pipe... My question however, is what's the point of this block connector. It has a larger pipe joining at the back of it? I'm concerned that I may be unintentionally causing other problems elsewhere, letting air into something etc...I don't know. I don't see logically why anything else would be connected between the master and slave clutch cylinders, and definitely not something that needs a pipe that big (about 13mm maybe). I have an NA, so this be be totally foreign to all the TT people? Cheers!

Ultrasonic Sensors
Hi, I've just realised that my Toad ultrasonic sensors have been pushed under the interior trim, one is pretty crushed the other has been ripped away from the wiring. Anyway, I figured I'd go to the breakers and find some nice ones; snip them and wire into my current wiring. My question is will this work, does anyone know anything about ultrasonic sensors, they're all pretty much all the same right?

What does the forum think of these?
I ordered some nice adjustable Tokico shocks from the US a few years back, paid the postage etc, but when they arrived I was charged another £60 (around about that) for tax! You likely know this, but something to be aware of if not as I wasnt expecting it at the time. That was about 6 years ago so who knows what the cost would be now!

Top Gear Specials tonight.
These were obviously advertised well...as missed them all! From what I can work out from Iplayers user-unfriendly system there have been three eps - 1 - USA 2 - Middle East 3 - USA (again) I haven't watched any yet so could be wrong, but this seems right judging by dates.

Steering wheel boss.
I have an after-market wheel to fit (which currently has a Pulsar boss attached) and I'm looking at this - http://www.racerbits.com/servlet/Detail?no=558 Does it look to be ok for a N/A without cruise of air bag? Horrible centre badge I know... I've had probs in the past with boss's not cancelling the indicators etc...no tag on the bottom to cancel them. This one looks nice but it more than twice the price - http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=206&category_id=76&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 I'm staying away from the ebay ones at the mo, don't trust I;ll get the right one! Oh...and Merry Christmas (or happy holidays) everyone! :santa:

upper wishbone arm
What do you mean by not standard? I've replaced single wishbones in the past, so I would say no.

Urgent! Car has locked me out!
I've actually worried about this happening to me, as the Toad locks the doors after starting the engine. Look out for this same urgent query from me in a few months time! :)

Battery problem
My battery (or I should say an alternative battery to the small one that was in) is currently on trickle-charge. The original died after about 2 weeks doing nothing, but don't think it was the right battery.

code reader?
I had ODB I on my V6 Ford Probe some years back, there was a connector under the bonnect where you could attach a LED and it would flash out a code. Not really very helpful, but maybe theres something similar on the earlier Zed...

Toad has locked me out!!
I had no hope through the boot, the lock is frozen solid or doesn't work at all! I'll find out when it warms up I guess. :o

Toad has locked me out!!
The battery was dead... The battery is also tiny. I hadn't really noticed when checking the car over before buying, maybe I'm blind! Smallest battery I've ever had, or seen, could maybe power a Big Trax. Obviously not the correct one. I used the WD40 on the locks, but to get in I took a candle outside and heated the key and slid it in and out, gently twisting it. Got there in the end... I think passes by thought I was holding a séance, maybe trying to contact Z cars that have passed over... Thanks for the help everyone! :) Now...to the battery shop!!

Toad has locked me out!!
I tried the fob again this morning but still nothing. I tried the key in the lock but thats pretty much frozen. I'm going to get myself some WD40 and spray it into the locks tonight, then give it ago. I'll check the fob over too. I'm becoming tired of snow, it ruining my early Zed experience! No man (or women) deserves that! ^_^

Toad has locked me out!!
Ok, I've been trying to find out what Toad I have on my car, I think its a Ai606. I went out to try to identify it and the fob isn't unlocking the car! The fob seems fine, the green light illuminates when I press the buttons. The dashboard LED is flashing red and very quickly. I haven't really paid attention to it before, so not sure if this is normal, but something tells me it should be flashing slower. The alarm has been fine, although it had started beeping 5 times on activation which apparently indicates a problem with the bonnet switch...which I wasn't too concerned about yet. It is freezing, the car has several inches of snow on it. I think somehow the problem is cold / snow related. I was thinking maybe the car battery is dying or almost dead, too dead to activate the central locking but enough to flash the LED? I haven't tried opening the door using the key as it was 21:30 and couldn't start fiddling really...
