Ripped off again by a member of this forum!!
Grey area! Used spares should be open for anyone to sell on the forum. If of course as a trader you are offering a warranty with parts or an oem/ alternative supply than that's surely the choice of the buyer to realise the value add in the service. In this case if parts have been paid for and not recieved, then this seller and any other forum member selling has a duty of care to ensure safe arrival of goods, in good order and with prompt delivery, whether away or not! Delayed communication ir worse no communication is not acceptable in thy day and age.

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
That's interesting on the bore size using stock gaskets. I have 87.5mm Wiseco Pistons to fit and a stock gasket will obviously suffice, however I bought the Cometic type as I don't know if or by how much the Heads have been skimmed on a previous owners repair! I don't know how to measure this yet or even know the original height stock 40P's are, but it looks like the stock gasket is the way to go. Sorry for any perceived Hijack of this thread BigH but it's been enlightening, despite your unfortunate situation.

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
I still don't get this! During the last few years I had the Zed and reading up on builds and ads for car's frequently quoting cometic as de-rigueur for performance builds, the consensus of this thread it's Cometic are s##t!! I guess the ones I bought on the forum believing them to be the way to go for a build! May as well be ditched! There seems to be little evidence of people using OEM gaskets for big builds, so given the info here, it seems many have missed a trick!

zed prices rising
A bit of delusion in this one! Goes without saying that any car in perfect condition, History etc. will command a greater price, but even though our European and US cousins drive on the wrong side! and would suit this car (LHD) I don't believe it has the desirability effect given the cars current market presence. There have been a number of "good" examples sold recently and the very highest of these only managed £10K!...you never know though!, right buyer right time and anything is possible.

Oh The Joys of driving in the Wet!!
I was fresh in to my Zed experience when I got caught out in a shower, corner transition heading to the motorway turned in to a full opposite lock and balancing the throttle until she straightened up!, no kick no break away, it was completely controlled............nearly S**t myself. LOL! Glad you got away with it Rev1Richie.

thoughts on rear arches
The issue with the design of the 300zx is the front arches already look like they have a wide body design, nicely flared right over the whole wing, unfortunately by the time you get to the rear the whole arch width closes up with little flare and body width. Even with arch rolling and pulling you can only max that so far, so other than a bolt on arch the only other option is a full wide body kit...but few seem to be very well designed though! For me its an arch flare and roll and max the spacing of the wheels for best results.

possible A STOLEN 300ZX.. Heathrow London area
Something very odd about this whole thread! So did you see them when the car was returned, or did they stick the keys through the letterbox? What explanation did they have for keeping the car and returning it in such a bad condition? It's good to know that after three weeks of the car missing,, that you post your nice pics showing all the parts and extras you have, that the it then turned up within a few days! Must be forum power! So will you be selling all those parts now or is the car salvageable?

RIP Lynda Bellingham
Very sad indeed! I watched her on the BBC breakfast show only a couple of weeks ago, explaining her choices, so stoic and strong for her family in the face of a terminal outcome. So sorry she didn't make her Christmas, but she leaves a great TV acting career as her legacy. RIP Lynda.

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
All very disappointing! When I first bought the Zed, the conversations for build on here were all about Wiseco, Eagle, ARP, Cometic etc. so having built up the said various components for a build it now seems that few, if any are now needed for 400hp + and even in some cases not now recommended!! Oh well! too late to change now.
