quick fuse question
hi all , ive looked on teh fuse box and the fuse lid in the cabin footwell, and i cant find which fuse is for the overhead reading lights and clock as both had gone off....any ideas ?? or has anyone changed theirs recently and knows which fuse it is ? cheers people Steve

Glitter paint?
plenty of nice mica metalics about now and pearescent colours ...nissan do a lovely pear red bit like candy apple red but without the issues of matching if damaged ...the new Qashqai is done in pearl red mica amd pearl blue mica look nice in the sunlight but still retain some of the originality for the age of how the zed should look being a 1990's car ( not to modern or trying to look to modern )

Cheers Noel will do , its going to be 4 weesk before i can have alook at it ..im pretty sure its the PTU as its all 3 cylinders on the passenger bank that are not firing supose the best thing to do during fault finding is dissconect the fuel pump ( remove fuse ) to stop dumping fuel in the bores but still give me power to get a spark zeds...gotta love em :)

cheers have had to leave it in the garage as im on my way to kaz ..will do some fault finding when i get home ..looking for spark etc etc ...checking connections ....i think i have a mk2 ptu somewhere so i could always swap that

so whats happened now
friday car running great .....slightly uneven idle at first but soon smoothed out ..sunday bang cough backfire ... running .rough as a badgers bum ...put my hand over the exhausts no pressure at all( slight pressure ) on the passenger side and full exhaust presure on drivers side..seems lik eteh complete bank has dropped ..dont want to run the engine as i dont want any bore wash im just pumping fuel in there ...immediate thoughts are the PTU is gone ..anyone any other thoughts or ideas ??? cheers zed guru's kaza steve

sorry to hi jack this thread but on this topic of detailing..i cleaned and waxed the zed and it has gone streaky like an oily residue that just will not polish off !! its hardly noticeable BUT i know its there ....its like it is in the clear top coat even though i know it isnt ..is there some kind of solution or product to get this miracle shine no water wax off ??? help !!!!!

What boost controller are you running?
i have a fresh fully forged engine rebuild with cometic gaskets mike smith manifolds HUGE border front mount intercooler ARP studs and bolts stage 2 heads ported and polished ( allegedly ) 555 injectors and PE1420 brand new tubbies i think the issue is in the way the PE1420's waste gate opens and seals ? its aris about face to other tubs or so ive been told anyone else on here have issues with PE1420's steve

yep ....crank case breather blocked .....now sorted.....yes its the simple things ..owned this zed for ten years not much I haven't ever checked or done on it or to it.....but overlooked the dipstick and crank case breather ...doooh !!

What boost controller are you running?
hi Noel to up the boost on your manual controller as fitted to mine..is it turned clockwise or counterclockwise when looking down at it from the top... i know you had major issues with getting mine to hold boost .....still havnt cured that by the way ..any more thoughts on it ?? steve

whole heartedly agree with Jeff and Simon and others i was bitten badly by a so called zed specialist ..still have the scars to prove it

I am mate but ive prebooked the goodwood festival of speed for the same weekend with my two lads ......if id seen the post about lakez I would have not booked , but the lads are looking forward to goodwood now .......gutted especially as the pink Floyd tribute band is cracking ..seen them before ....

Rear tire advice
Toyo R1R are a fantastic tyre very grippy and good in the wet as well .....I prefer the goodyear eagle as a daily all round tyre ..

where is this coming from
well I took my Zed out of the garage and started her up...gave her a good wash down inside and out and under the bonnet put her back to bed an hour later and there was a puddle of oil where she had been stood .looking under the hood I could see nothing looking round the block I could see nothing....it is not central to the block so not the sump plug ..its on the drivers side about 16 inches from off centre line... its quite a significant puddle about a foot in diameter....my thoughts are turbo oil feed line..i have PE 1420 turbos...is there any other thoughts on this ?? I don't have ramps low enough to get the car up on to have a look see either :(

500 BHP ...as above ....dont forget if it goes fast ..it needs to stop faster....brakes should be before any engine conversion or upgrade in my opinion...

the best way round that is to make a air channel the same size as the intercooler dropping down to the size of the opening of the intake on the front bar ....as you have worked with fibre glass ian it should be a doddle to do the ram air effect cooling teh chargers would be a benefit

stalling issues
its only very sparodic, posibly a loose connection somewhere i think Noz ..its pulling like an absolute train buddy .....had a guy on GXR 750 tried to pull away from me at 70 on the motorway.......oop sorry officer 40 .....i could imagine the look in his eyes when i kept right up his trumpet ..its an absolute hooligan of car now ..... the tick over sounds fine ..but reads nearly 1900 on the tacho i think that might be confusing things as well ....
