  1. not all the time but sometimes when coming down from speed to a junction or roundabout the car just looses ignition and cuts out ..it starts straight away but can be disconcerting as the power steering goes as do the power brakes .....happens when i dip the clutch 9 times out of ten a pop of the clutch instantly starts it back up again ..dip the cluctch and its ok ..what do you reckon Throttle position sensor? the car idles ok but shows 1900 - 2000 rpm on the tacho ( this has been a long standing problem ) even though its more like 800 900 rpm ....flumoxed with this one :(
  2. i get home on the 9th of Sept so i will be up for this ..anyone with over heating issues need not apply as the traffic litteraly crawls ...for miles it took me two hours crawl speed in the back streets of blackpool before even getting to the lights on the front as the cars are all re directed to the north shore ....then some grade A **** of a copper gave me grief at the traffic lights in front of my kids , i very impolitely told him to stick his crappy attitude up his rusty sherrifs badge. hope i meet him again in a bar when he is out of uniform ......
  3. Dave gutted for you matey.....keep it covered in the garage for a while and sit and think on it don't rush into any decision mate is a lovely car and I would save it ..however is not my car
  4. Hi Jeff. I did call you but you were busy ....drop me an email if you get 5 mins Cheers mucka Steve
  5. Top gear has been the slide for years now , it's all challenges and stupidity ....it's us the tv license payer that forking out to watch them bash ten brand new Suzuki swifts in a winter sports ice hockey match , etc etc....worth the repair bill we forked out ....don't think so
  6. it would be quite a simple task to weld the hinged pieces into a solid struture...single cross braces are the only way to go if you want it for handling body stiffening
  7. doh !!! homer simpson moment there !!....sorry i was just repairing my time machine so i couldnt go forward and take any myself ...but if i had a time machine then i could go and still be at work ..where is this going !! what have i been drinking ... why does having zeds make you go a bit peculiar ?? anyway dont forget to post up the pics ..doeasnt seem to be many pics at meets these days or north west meets for that matter apart from this one which is superb and you should all come ..even my dog had a great time ......im rambling now ...makes mental note to himself do not drink Baltika 9 ever again ........
  8. 8 bhp out ....nice figures Ian .... Pm me when you get a chance buddy Steve
  9. there was no way she was getting anywhere close to my zed matey...we called her last car Itchy because it was covered in scratches anyone got any pics of the meet ??
  10. 532 fwhp ..what the hell did i start with this guessing stuff ......sorry Noel :)
  11. Hi Terry no mate no dump valves fitted , it seems i have to get busy with the lump hammer when im home again :) .......
  12. thansk for that guys i will look at that and see if that is what is happening ..they do spool up very well around 2.3k revs and pull very very hard the engine power is more than enough for me at the moment anyway to be honest, but i was surprised that only 1.1 bar pressure could be made. they are sitting on Mike Smith manifolds with a custom exhaust that Jeff had one of his associates make up for me with race cats welded in....
  13. Noz has set up my car and at a boost of 1.1 Bar (15ish psi) but he was unable to get the PE1420s to boost anymore than this....his thoughts are wastegate issues ...the tubs are good for a lot more than 15 psi ....he has fitted one of his own boost controllers ...any ideas ..no apparent boost leaks etc ??
  14. im going for 483 fwhp ........Noel is a top lad isnt he..such a shame i didnt even get 5 minutes to sit and chat to him when i went to his at Leicester as my missus was desperate to get back home .....and seeing as she had the sat nav i had no choice ...
  15. Yes new leak , it was ok driving home , next day ok , then Friday smell of fuel and soggy pipes :) .....sorted that now, just need to find the oil drip now ..
  16. Ok bearing in mind the car would only boost to 1.1 bar ( waste gate actuators perhaps on the PE 1420,s ) the car made 471.9 with 476 ft.lbs. at the wheels , at the fly it made 543 bhp with 523 ft.lbs. ..the car is easily capable of 600 bhp at the fly with more boost ....issues still standing is an oil leak from somewhere ? And there was a huge fuel leak on the small pipe under the main braided fuel hose ..sorted that but still dropping fuel from somewhere ?.. No hum the work is never done on a zed :)
  17. How cool would this be in carbon fibre ....stunning work mate
  18. More than happy matey, :) can't believe the way it picks up and goes like its in a time warp ........truly neck snapping ...
  19. I've just been down to Leicester to pickup my zed after noz has mapped it ......if there was a word that described the biggest cheesiest grin ever I would have to write it as that's what I've got......to say the zed is rapid is an understatement as the knob head in the Audi S5 found out ....up my tail pipes at 70 so I cogged it down just one gear and bloody hell it let lose the dogs of war ......the thing is insane !! Can't thank Noel enough he Is a real gent and definately knows his way round a re map If any body wants more from their zed he is the man to see ...get your names down quick as he is very busy Yippee Kay yay .......:clap::biggrin:
  20. I'm going for 576 nice build steve
  21. Noel Can you post up the dyno graph please buddy , Cheers mate Steve
  22. I'm going to run the car for another 500 1000 miles or so and take it from there ..the fact its pushing 543 is indicative the build is good , mates skyline is fresh fresh ..zero miles on the rebuild and had been dynoed close on 1000 bhp ...ive been told the bores will not bed in if they have glazed due to over fueling ..I'm prepared to give it a go and see what is what...time will tell if its glazing ...I teapoon of oil down each pot before the pressure test etc ....I'm sure its not all doom and gloom ....:)

  24. Not sure what's happened mate to be honest , either the machining wasnt correct or the running in was incorrect ,... looks like an engine out job again though doesnt it :(
