  2. having a dent in the FMC even a large one wont cause the symptoms you are having . you are going on and off boost and loosing nearly 3 psi of boost peak to peak....check the boost lines that they are not restricted ..check your connections that they are not crimping the boost lines , check the boost solenoid is stable and not lifting off , check the earth to the EBC all these things can give you wierd symptoms cheers and good luck steve

  5. .....my pi$$ is boiling at reading this having been ripped off royaly myself ....i would quite happily for free visit this individual and commence a nice little chat with him over tea and scones, before dropping him off at the hospital entrance......( too see his sick mother of course, .......me threating him officer ...no not at all )
  6. i think basicaly that is sound car to start on ...personally i would loose the rear wing and roof scoop and headlights put a set of decent deep dished alloys to show off the imsa style rear arches and go from there ...the down side would be getting the paint to match up ..when youve done making your own mark on it...interior is lovely ..but lose the red trim.....and the rear lights are a bit marmite ...but it is a shorty slick top manual tt and they are like hens teeth
  7. took me a while to get round to it fellas, but feeling positive now about the outcome of the latest and last incarnatio of the zed. engine will be back to Jim this week , then its getting ran in and fettled by Jim and Noel before i get my hands on her ... im like a kiddy in a sweet shop ..very excited.....wemust be crazy lol

  14. Happy Birthday fella and many more
  15. cheers matey ...i will keep updating , so far the block and heads are being machined and the parts for the rebuild are now with Jimmer ..waiting until i get back to the uk to sort out some new engine mounts as the passenger side mount had detached itself just decomposed ....Jimmer is keeping me informed and likewise i will update this thread so if the mods would be so kind as to leave it open ..as soon as i know whats happening i will let the forum know.. steve
  16. ready for the second round Noel ;) should be well in excess of 500 whp with the boost leak sorted and 3 inch straight through system mate do you reckon ?
  17. im not pointing fingers of blame other than at myself for not considering all options i just wanted the car done and running ...the pics of teh rebuild done by Jeff gave no concerns to me ...i was happy its unfortunate that after 500 miles its let go down to massive over fueling and a Chip related issue which has been teh route cause ..there are no come backs financially or neither am i looking for them ..if it was within a year and 500 miles yes i would be banging on doors and banging heads against walls ..buts its 3 years on ...and its in my opinion sadly just one of those things ..lessons learnt ....Noz had major issues trying to get it right and he did a great job ...the car was a monster very quick even with all its unknown issues .....things just went sour .....its now being re-built by a true pro a gent to do buisness with and yes NOZ wil be mapping my car again once its built watch this space ...i would ask that no one aportions blame to anyone ,,just learn from my mistakes ..its zedding pure and simple steve
  18. he does doing minor services etc
  19. i know Steve .....who would have thought it ...got badly stung twice .....but im a persistent old git and i will have it sorted in memory of my dad
  20. they have sold the business on of sorts, ( he retired but lost out on the deal allegedly ) and now jeff works from home doing services and small stuff only.....besides it would be difficult to prove blame ...im stuck up a creek without a paddle .....thousands down the pan.......
  21. that is awesome ...............im lost for words....Dan its stunning mate
  22. Noz the boost leak is sorted now :) bad weld on the PE 1420 ...3 inch straight through infinity exhaust fitted ....when Jimmer has sorted the engine and its ran in how do you feel about mapping another 500+ whp zed :)
