  1. so i could have one for "fuel economy round town driving", and one for "giving it the beans cos some dickhead in a scooby thinks he's mint" kinda thing? how difficult is it to install? do the chips come premapped and its just a case of swapping them in the ecu? or does the car have to be on a rolling road to get it sorted?
  2. what do you mean between two different maps? how hard is this to do? and is the difference noticable?
  3. dude i love that illuminated centre pannel at the rear, mite have to look into one of them myself. maybe a silly question but after a remap and the power being increased, does it make you fuel economy go down? and does it put more ware on the engine?
  4. i've posted the pics of my door install on another thread, it will be on todays posts, its headed "front speekers"
  5. Heres the badgers, don't seem to have any photo's of the tweeters. could of swarn i took some. First attempt [/img] Final attempt [/img] It doesn't look perfect, but i really didn't want to start cutting bits of the metal framework out to fit the 6.5's or to fit some 6x9's in the doors. (i have seen the latter achieved, and the result does look good)
  6. the sound was better, i fitted some tweeters in the vents aswell. but it still needs a sub. i still can't find the cable for my phone but i'll have a good look now.
  7. i tried the other week to fit some 6.5's in the doors, the ones i got were to deep to fit in the door, so i had to cut the door card and fit them on the outside, this obviously left a gap due to the 8 x 5.5 cover which left some bare metal exposed. i ended up making a seal out of some rubber gasket material and then covering the join with some 6x9 covers. i'd post some pics up but i can't seem to find my cable. i'll have a look later on.
  8. theres some after market 6 x 4's on ebay i was thinking about. other than that is gunna be some mdf and a big **** off box!
  9. text me the details of the celica (reg colour (photo if possible) engine millage tax, m.o.t etc) and i'll ask about see if i can get rid of it for you.
  10. i know i guy, a good friend of mine actually who'll be able to m.o.t it for you. he's done all mine for the last couple of years. the place is only in southbank, so i assure you h.i.d's will not make it fail. if it turns out the beam pattern is ****ed and he does need to do it properly, he'll change them over for you. but he told me not to worry about it when i bought mine.
  11. as far as i'm aware they're m.o.t legal. its to do with the projector headlights that makes them legal, if they were to be in a standard headlight then the reflector behind the lamp makes the beam wider and higher which is what blinds people (like when some fool puts them in a saxo or 106 etc) but they should be fine in ours. but as bret says if they want to be arsey about it then just replace with standard bulbs for the m.o.t. i think the 8000k is the bluest you can go though without the sweeny being bothered.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/50W-55W-HID-Xenon-Conversion-Kit-880-H1-H3-H4-H7-9006-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ120597819842QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories thats the same kit, but for sum reason it comes up on .com in us dollers, allthough looks cheeper. have cruse through there store, they deffinatly deliver to uk.
  13. I've had a quick look on ebay for your indicators but i can't find any, loads of side repeaters. but none for the front other than scrap standard ones.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=120595835083&view=all&tid=588630714002 Thats the link, its from a store so they'll have loads of them. £36.99 all in.
  15. I remember you explaining your idea at the teesside meet, i think it looks nice. as you said it would suit a darker colour better, but its still deffinatly sumat special.
  16. i'll see where i can fit them, but it mite be a must to get them extended.
  17. if u get some ordered i don't mind lending a hand fitting them.
  18. the lamda 1 result was from the gas test! they seemed pretty confident it was running sweet,
  19. Peter, they really are easy peasy, i got mine from ebay, 55w (the bright ones) H3 fitment, and i've oppted for the 8000k colour (a bit more blue). under £40 shipped from hong kong. think i'll put them in on saturday when i'm doing the sound system. if your at the japnortheast meet on sunday i'll show you the finished result.
  20. it actaully is as simple as that, the wired plug an socket actallu match up, and u just simply plug the two spade conectors into the old lamp holder. i've got no idea where i'm gunna put the ballasts though, there's not alot of room under there.
  21. well theres to extra spade connectors coming from the bulb, and then theres another plug, and then a socket in the ballast. the suns come out so think i'll go have a play.
  22. 7 days from paying for them, these little puppies came from hong kong [/img] (apologies for the sideways picture) but in the instructions, it mentions somthing about a relay. I was under the impresion that i just plugged the old light fitment into the balast, and stick the new bulb where the old one went and away i go. not that i'm afraid of a little extra graft, i just don't wanna go breaking stuff! [/img] anyway is anybody able to shed some light on this for me? much appreciated.
  23. after doing a lamda sensor test a while ago (the first of many) it read that my left side sensor had failed and was reading lean. however the right side one read perfectly. After doing a gas test, both sides are reading pretty much the same with "lamda 1" on both! therefore it would seem that they are both ok. but why does my ecu try to tell me otherwise?
  24. bodge worked, code 55 A OK, still cool after 100 miles. fuel economy is loads better n just generally runs nicer.
  25. This is class, suprised it didn't come up when i did a search. where did you get the plastdrip from? was it an online purchase?
