  1. I love this sh*t!!! It absolutely amazes me. I seriously think there really is intelligent life out there, it is mathematically possible and logical. I think we have definitely being visited at some point, roswell for one being a dead cert. I myself have seen a questionable thing once upon a time (may have being after a spliff or two in my younger years but never the less I was not alone) As StellaZ said about the myans and all that jazz, i've read a few things before about this mythical "planet X" and crazy alien visitors a few good years ago. it also explains the missing link with breading with extra terrestrial life. I'm with evoluzion on the God thing, i'm in no way religious (don't get me started with the catholics) but to try and imaging there being nothing, and then somehow all this appearing is more far fetched than some of the old testament crap. so somehow there must of being something first to create it, and then something to create that and then so on and so on. and some sort of alien input does make some religious stories make a bit more sense. I don't think we would be raped and pillaged by aliens, they would be far more civilised and advanced than we are and we grew out of the rapping and pillaging pre 20th century. So hopefully they would be harmless. After all if we woke up tomorrow morning and stumbled across some flux capacitor able of propelling us through time and space at a ridiculous rate of knots i'm pretty sure the first thing we would do wouldn't be to try and rob some aliens of all there natural resources. Although i wouldn't put it past the americans. As previously stated though going from basic flight to space travel in a generation is pretty spectacular, so hopefully in my life time i'd like to think we'd be that little bit closer to communicating with a non earth native creature. anyway rant over....Bed time.
  2. that is a nice honda kolnai (yours isn't so bad either pete) that was exactly what i was looking for before i found my zed litering someones drive. Sometimes i regret buying it instead of the honda but only due to fuel economy, but as soon as i climb in her all doubts disapear. just wondering though, after going to all the trouble of converting the honda from auto to manual, why get an auto zed? surley the manual would be more satisfying....
  3. indeed the delorean, when you starting the back to the future replica???

  9. can anybody tell me the bolt length and thread size for the starter motor? its the bottom one I'm missing if that makes a difference. I got my new one fitted but i only had one bolt so its not lined up right and grinds. i think the bolt should sort it though. Steve
  10. can anybody tell me the bolt length and thread size for the starter motor? its the bottom one I'm missing if that makes a difference. I got my new one fitted but i only had one bolt so its not lined up right and grinds like ****. i think the bolt should sort it though. Steve
  11. sorry jane just got this now. unfortunatly i'm waiting for my new starter motor to be fitted, mite be getting done tomorow hopfully. need to finish off some guvi jobs so i don't have alot of free time though. but we'll get something rigged in the near future. Glad its fixed though, i new it would be somthing stupid!
  12. that vid was awsome, he was even missing the glove aswell!
  13. that was suposed to be "suck chewy off", really should proof read.
  14. Unfortunatly Jane i'm a very buisy bunny, i've got guvi jobs coming out my ears (fish shop in north ormsby, unit in Longbeck) and i'm in edinburgh with the mrs tomorow and wednesday and i'm back at regular work on thurs. and to top it off my starter motor fell off the zed on friday night. had to leave it out side quite a bad area of redcar untill last night when 3 of us managed to bump it off, was ****ed after pushing that beast! hopefully will have a new starter by end of the week and i'm gonna offer to such chewy off so he fits it for me. mite i add he's very pleased with the celica, which is a bad thing because now he's going to be using his free time playing with that instead of playing with mine. but i supose i can't be selfish all the time now.
  15. but i thought due to heat expansion due to a cold start this could do more damage? does it differ if the revs are are altered instead of idle? or does it have to be under load to prevent damage? does the same count for warm idle? such as turbo timers?
  16. did the car stay locked when the engine started?
  17. to be honest i don't think they'll be getting told about the remote start.
  18. my friend has an s2000, its very nice. and pulls like a train aswell. its a bright yellow softop. looks the dogs *****cks. its had a few little things done to it though, such as a lmtd slip diff, and its being slammed on its arse. its not the most comfortable of cars for a daily runner (no glove box so very little storage space in the cabin) but the roof is one of the fastest available soft tops. and when the vtec kicks in it is well worth the money!
  19. yes please bud. i was sure it was possible, just didn't know how. is the turbo timer part of the alarm or is it a seperate box?
  20. i tend to use my oil temp guage to go by for when i can give it the beans or not. i think my first notch is 50'C, so i was told by my mechanic mate that he will brake me if i use the boost before the temp has reached atleast 60'C. by this time the coolant temprature is deffinatly at its normal running point (just under half way). somtimes though on a hot day the oil temp can be reading 55ish when i first jump in it. as for cooling down, i try to stay off the boost for the last few miles aswell (or atlest the length of two songs) failing that then i have a smoke when i pull up.
  21. it does really seem pointless if the alarm can't be armed with engine runnning. it does just mean something is fitted that allows you to hold your keys outside of the car and then watch it turn off. if i have to wait for it to turn off, then i may aswell wait with the car inside. at the moment if i have being heavy on the boost i just tend to have a smoke while it spools down. but as i said thats not allways practical. somtimes i'll be running late and i'll have to run inside tesco to get some bait for work, so after giving it the beans (due to running late) i then feel its wasted because i feel guilty as sin turning it off after pulling up, so therfore i need to wait. anybody had a remote engine start?
  22. ever since buying my zed i liked the idea of a turbo timer. i know its advised to just keep of the boost for the last few miles, but i'm not allways able to plan when i'm going to stop. so for ease (and also i think there a bit cool) i woudn't mind fitting one. however trying to find some one to fit one is not turning out to be too easy. every place i ring either doesn't fit them, or just ask me to ring back at a later date. i wouldn't mind having ago and fitting one myself (just turns out i am an electrician) but to my understanding the imobiliser would have to be bypassed to allow the car to lock and the engine to keep running. so i wasn't to keen on tampering with that myself as it would void the warrenty. but i'm not entirley sure if this is the way its done. my understanding of it is that you remove your keys from the ignition and walk away with the car still running (for a preset time or one that is worked out via the revs of the last few miles) and then lock the car, when the engine cuts out, the imobiliser is armed. or does the car have to be locked after the timer times out. to me, the latter would be pointless. same as remote engine starts, i have found someone that is willing to fit this to my existing alarm for a price of £80. My understanding of a remote engine start would be that i would be able to wake up in the morning, point my fob out of my window and start my engine with the car remaining locked. I can then continue to get ready for work and then emerge 10 mins later, unlock my car, climb in with the engine having reached a suitable temperature and proceed to drive to work. is this correct? The alarm in question is a toad Ai606, the fitter that offered to fit the remote start is a registered toad installer, and did ask specifically if this alarm was fitted, so i'm sure the starter will corrispond with the alarm and imobiliser system. so was just wondering if anyone has had somthing similar fitted, or has fitted somthing similar themselves. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Steve
