Clutch Slave cylinder
turns out it was the flexi pipe, so chears Gonzo, gunna change the cylinder anyway. i have got one long hose direct from the master to the slave. i've ordered a replacement from Z centre. so hopefully it'll be here soon.

Clutch Slave cylinder
which pipe? its had a braded hose put on it but whoever fitted it didn't run it properly, it was dangerously close to the exhaust and getting a little brown. but all the ones i've seen on ebay look way to small.

Clutch Slave cylinder
Finaly got my belts changed and the dreaded squeek is no more, but unfortunatly after the test drive the clutch decided to give up and piss out all the fluid. and there was quite an audiable pop. not quite sure exactly where the leek is from but its in the general direction of the slave cylinder. so i'm going to get one anyway hoping that is the problem, and if it isn't then the problem will become aparent when the new cylinder is fitted. Just to make sure though (as my local parts provider can't allways be trusted) is it the same cylinder on all models, i.e. uk spec, jap spec, TT or auto etc. Thanks Steve

Anyone on here dealt with this trim kit?
i've been thinking of doing this aswell. does the door card split or does it have to stay in one piece. it just looks really awkward to fit.

Woohoo! I sold my Corolla!
Get a honda, you could pick up a nice little 1.6 civic for under a grande, aim for about an N regish, the older shape. deffinatly Vtec, it'll be well worth it, relliable as hell.

wheres Flory's? is Phill Bacon a business or just a guy? the real problem is that it would have to be a regestered toad fitter, the remote engine start would have to be fitted to the alarms ecu so that the imobiliser could be bypassed and the doors still stay locked.

was that including the seats. i suppose the only real difference from the SWB is the rear quarters.

Byker as in Byker Grove pet. (sorry) thing is i'll have to drive up to get a quote and its a bit far. unless they can give me one over the phone, i'll give them a tinkle.

Splendid, if you know a good alarm place aswell that'll be good. i can't find a decent one anywhere, i keep getting told carsound in boro but they knocked me back. and the last time i had a guy come out to look at it he didn't show and it cost me a days holiday.

That Z centre is a good point, for some reason i thought i'd seen them a lot more expensive than that. i've seen a few pictures of DIY jobs, and they do look really good. i supose i've got a month or so to decide. The colour match is a major factor, i need to get it as close as possible to my existing seats.

he said parts would be stitched but the majority would be stuck on. I thought about having ago myself but if you'd seen the state of my sub boxs you would see i'm not the man for the job. If i could get it on and looking ok i still don't think it would last longer than a week. I know the place has a good rep, i've seen a few TVR's that have being done there and loads of motor bike seats. But I was assuming i could get the seats done aswell for the same price. his origional quote was going to be a little over £600, he thinks £200 for the materials, and just over £400 labour then V.A.T, with the new 20% thats what realy tips the mark.

I finaly got a quote to get rid of my grey tweed, its just the dash doors, centre and rear quarters (no seats) in red leather, he thinks about £750 all in, thinks it'll take 3 days, but he can't fit me in till the back end of Febuary. Seen as though i have never had a car retrimed before i have no idea if this is a reasonable price. so if anyone has had it done would you mind sharing prices? Chears.

Climate Controls?
i find if i ever have my battery disconected then the default setting seems to be 25. however my ambient temperature i'm sure is wrong and never goes higher than 15, even in the summer so i'm sure i've got a dodgy temp sensor.

digital clock
I had this similar problem, i noticed my boost controller had being wired into the clock and it seemed to reset itself when the controller turned itself on. and now its just stopped working alltogether. if anybody has one going i'll quite happily take it off their hands.

L'il Stevie
hello, sorry just noticed this. and in seeing this also reminded me of your email that i clearly forgot to reply too. as for the civic i still have it and am still planning on selling up but i'm not sure when yet. for some reason i think i should be more responsible and buy a house instead of yet another car, so i mite still be driving the civic for another 6 months. I thought you got yourself sorted anyway and bought something sensible.

I pulled out of buying the Bora
i've still got it, its taking me to work and back every day. not too sure what i'm doing with it yet, i was gunna part ex it when i get a new one, but i'm still in two minds what to get and when. it'll probably be in the new year now. if i do end up selling it privatly and you still havn't squared yourself away then you have first refusal.

I pulled out of buying the Bora
so has zedward gone then? i went up to prestonfarm on sunday had a scope around there for somthing, took one of the new hybrid crz's for a test drive, obviously not a long one due to the weather, i thought it was funny as hell when i nipped the handbrake pulling back into the estate. the salesman obviously didn't aprove. think i prefer going for a 3 series though.

New auxilary belts
the belt sizes that we had were 1000-1100mm for the altanator which was too big, 962mm for the aircon allso too big and the p.a.s was 862 which was too small. couldn't even mix and match them to fit. They were all apropreatly tight when we put it back together, the p.a.s one was a little worn, but nothing too harsh. how would i know if my pully's were aftermarket or not?
-
New auxilary belts
i wouldn't know if my pully's were aftermarket. all the tensioners were loosened, the power stearing one was a bit of an arse to shift but got there in the end. i think two of them were actually too big, but one was really small. got them from andrew page (not sure if its a national company) but he seemed to know the type of car so as far as he knew they were the right ones. after all the chew of getting the old lnes off, i then had to put them back on. it stopped the squeak for the short tearm so the tunnel run went ok last night, but today its started again. I'll have to give zedworld a ring and have a word.
