Managed to drop the car off today to get the rims refurbed. For those that missed the last thread, I'd managed to find someone that was willing to split the rims, powder coat the centre a nice gun metal grey (match the car quite well) and the lip a nice shadow chrome. He gave me a very pleasing price to the tune of £300, so as you can imagine i was rather excited to drop it off and to allow work to commence. However, after been back at work a couple of hours i received a phone call telling me its not going to be a easy as once thought, turns out at sometime in their life, somebody has actually welded the seal around the split, as well as siliconed it. So he says they can not be split. So i'm left with the choice of either getting them done all in one colour, abandoning them completely and buying a new set, or just living with them as they are. I've google'd the shit out of them and not for love nor money can i find some new ones. So i'm actually devastated, I love the rims and i'm sorry to say that if the car didn't have them when i bought it there's a good chance i would of walked away and bought something entirely different. I have thought about just getting them coated in the chrome, (providing he's willing to remove the bolts first) and then at a later date if i want to, try and get the centre painted and lacquered in a nice grey, but not sure if that would be do able. I managed to make it to the second day, although i was very late and just arrived for the pro's starting. had to leave at the semi finals of the super pro's too so i didn't get to see who won. but i still enjoyed it, nothing like the smell of burning rubber on a sunday afternoon. there was some really nice cars there. the car park was like a car show too, GTR's, S15's, GTO's, Supra's a couple of s2000's and loads of skylines, and as always, mine was the only zed.

I don't know who this chunk character is, but yeah he was one of the judges. everytime the m.c. mentioned his name i kept on imagining the goonies.

He's quoted me £300 to have the spokes powder coated gun metal grey and the outer lip shadow chrome. there is a bit of damage like to fill in, and they do look a ******* to split. its the best i've got so far so i've booked it in for next monday. i'm still waiting to hear back from a place in newcastle that will polish them. but some of the scratches are that bad they mite be fighting a loosing battle. I don't think i'm gonna beat that price. and i think they're gonna look nice.

Well PPC in Hartlepool unfortunatly don't do pollishing. but he can split them and paint the outer a chrome colour and the inner a silver. and thats going to be £280 all in. which is superb, I got a quote more than that yesterday to just powder coat over the studs. Guna take a drive up later to let him have a look at them. I've also found a place in newcastle that will polish them. i'm emailing them some pictures now.

I don't like the idea of splitting them myself, i'll end up with a load of broken studs, and i'll probably never get a decent seal again, So i'd prefer to leave it to the professionals. I'm going to give the hartlepool place a tinkle today. i'll let you know how it goes.

Just googled them, they've got a few pictures of some polished rims so they mite do the trick. i don't know why they didn't come up when i've been googling it today. mobile would be great though thanks.

Wanting to get my rims refurbished, but its tricky trying to find someone to take them on. I can get them all powder coated silver for £200, but i'll loose the chrome polish around the rim. I can only find one place willing to split them, but they won't do the polishing, so i'd have brand new looking silver spokes, but the outside lip would be just bare metal, and even then it would cost £200 per rim. So its not looking good for the shiny bit. What would you guys do? I'll try and find a picture so you know what i'm talking about.

I'm still game for this depending on date.

Yes NEMM isn't the highest thought of forum in our local area, however they do tend to have a nice turn out. Apparently starts at 6pm ish in Majuba Car park in Redcar, and then moves on to Teesside park for around 8ish until late. Yes It will be full of kids in Saxo's doing burnouts, there will be quite a few police present and most attendees will be under the age of 21. However It would be nice if I wasn't the only zed there. But behaviour will be awful so you have been warned.

Don't think i'll be attending this one. however there is a NEMM cruise on tomorrow night. starts in majuba car park in Redcar at around 7:00 and then moves up to Teesside park for around 8:00 till late. I'll start a new thread though.

I'll wait till I find a bumper I like first. otherwise it'll just be taking up space untill i can send them both to the body shop. Is there anyone that could make me an Impul copy?

I'm on the lookout for a new bumper and a 99 spec spoiler, don't suppose you could knock me up an impul front one could you? would look the dogs knees then if you get me.

Yeah thats what i tried to input the image code from photobucket but it wouldn't have it for some reason, i'll try again when i get a spare minute or two.

They do look alot better when it is fully dark, but I've never really noticed to be honest.

Got it booked in to get the grey tweed replaced with red leather, should have it sorted by mid May. gives me time to run some new cables for the sound system too.

The Dials are from ebay, plasma glow I think they are, bit of a chew on to fit but well worth it.

Took it for a valet today so thought i'd take a few pictures. Finally fitted the new windscreen trims too after about a year of having them. Couldn't upload them to the thread though for some reason, so i've made an album on my profile.....
