Anybody get some pictures from last week?
  3. Yeah I figured out a similar system, I just got a few clippy bags and put the screws for each part in a separate bag, i.e, o/s door, n/s door, rear, glove box, centre and steering wheel. I didn't have a full compliment though, some most of been lost over the years.
  4. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures today, I've been working on the thing since 8:00 this morning. changed the output shaft seal first thing (finally). So I just wanted to get it over and done with and get home. (after a nice sprint about on the drive home of course). I'll see what I can do when I put it back together, probably won't be for another few weeks yet mind. If you are thinking about tackling it yourself, it really isn't too bad, a nice set of screw drivers and a 10mm and a 14mm spanner and a little bit of patients and you should be fine.
  5. Well I managed ok, took about 3 hours all in all so not as bad as expecting. the glove box was a ****, but its done, it'll probably take me twice as long to put back together but i'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. Thanks again for all your help guys.
  6. How did you go about getting it out? I tried and failed miserably, haven't been arsed to have another go since.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll be sure to keep my eyes out. It was the rear quarters i was worried about most, and the long centre bits, but now i'm a little worried over the glove box too.
  8. Re-trims booked in for Monday, so i'm stripping all the panels out over the weekend. Is there anything I need to watch out for? I've had the door cards off a few times before, but not sure if they split or not. other than that the only parts i've managed to take off has been the bits under the steering wheel. So as always any tips or advice would be great. Regards Steve
  9. I just realised I forgot to put up the picture of the weld, the whole reason why they couldn't be split in the first place. so here it is.
  10. My mate works in a little garage on Thornaby industrial estate, and he tells me he's getting 2 300's in to do an engine swap, was just wondering if it belonged to anybody on here????
  11. waiting for the re-trim to get done then i'll get it valeted i think....
  12. Took the bloke a few goes to do the centre caps done due to the corrosion, but they're finally finished. Photo's not too great i'll try and get some better ones tonight when i get it off the drive, tried a little instagram magic on the last one....
  13. Excellent, a convoy of zeds would be nice like. should be a good evening if all goes to plan and the weathers nice.
  14. http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/427812107246245/ Massive meet planned for July, its a long way away now but should be plenty of notice so you can all free your calender. would be nice to see a few zeds there. I'll be stripping me interior out over the weekend for the re-trim so won't be game for this.
  16. Unfortunately I've got plans this wednesday, supposed to be treating the mrs to the cinemas for the new american pie, definitely game for another time though. however i'm stripping the interior out over the weekend because its getting re-trimmed so not sure if it'll be drivable until its done.
  17. No way, where/when was that announced?
  18. That sounds class. but i'm new to the whole dyno thing....whats the noise just before each run finishes? is it the dyno or the car? How hard is it to run in a nitrous kit? I imagine it to work like fast and the furious, but is that a general misconception?
  19. WOW £49k, that is alot of spondulees. You could buy a GTR now...
  20. Just out of interest, how much did you get for it?
  21. But doesn't it defy the point of been split?
  22. I was thinking of getting some of the zed centres but decided against it. I picked the car back up today, the centre caps aren't finished yet. but i am pleased with the result so far. they're not perfect, but considering the state they were in its not surprising. I'll post some photo's up when I get chance.
  23. They look Nice is the lip polished? Well I spoke to the guy today. and it turns out the spokes have been full blown welded to the outer rim, and aparently its a really nice weld too. So unfortunatly there's no chance of them been split. So i've decided to get them all done in the Shadow chrome, unfortunatly it means the bolts will be powder coated over, but they'll be in better knick than they were. Depending on the turn out I mite see about getting the spokes sprayed grey and laqured after, shouldn't be too much to mask off the rest. but its still a bit of a bummer about the bolts. I'll post up some photo's when I pick the car up.
  24. He just said they'd been welded on the back. I'll let you know how I get on when I speek to him in the morning.
