Smoke Confirmation?
I think to buy all the parts from Nissan UK and do the job yourself is around £100

Air con recharge
If you change gas, then you need new seals on the pump as they arnt compatible.

Smoke Confirmation?
It could be the PCV valves - they tend to wear out or get blocked up and need replacing. Mine smoked abit for a while on idle only and then it cleared up - You could try cleaning the throttle bodies out with carb cleaner and see if it unblocks them at all......

Autobox cooler for Jap n/a
Just pop to B&Q and buy some aluminium strips and make your own fitting bracket.

Overheating again!!!
Sounds just like the matrix has gone - your heater not working is because the water level has dropped too low - it is also probably why you are overheating as well....
-
Power steering fluid and cooling
UK ones dont either - they use both sides of the radiator end tanks whereas the Jap ones just use one side. If its leaking beware and try and get it sorted out.

Both mother and baby both doing well and have been home for a week today! If there was a smiley for smoking a cigar I'd put it here!

help drivers mirror
Just pul the outet casing apart and clean it all up inside with wd40 - then operate the motor and you should have been able to free it up - then re-assemble it back. As long as the motor is running to try and fold it its just stuck. If its not even making a motor noise then it may be a bad connection somewhere else.

350Z for sale already.
You wont get a 350z turbo - Middlehurst have supercharged it though as an option - It voids the Nissan warranty but they give their own 12 month one on it. Costs an extra 4k or so.

leak-is it bad?
Radiator caps are around 9 quid from Nissan.
-
leak-is it bad?
The rad cap is spring loaded - when the pressure is too great the spring is pushed up and you should see in the neck of the radiator a small tube snaking off down into the depths of the car - this hole gets exposed and vents the water down there.

What fuel
Saves a fortune as well.

Refinishing standard rims
It was from Halfords - I bought some metal primer - red colour, and the silver wheel paint in the big cans and the same lacquer - cant remember but I think it was Simoniz paint. Covers quite well.
-
What fuel
Actually - its a good question - I've had mine years now and never put any in coz I didnt know and didnt want to put the wrong fuel in it and damage it.
-
creaking boot
No, the lock does slide up and down on the 3 bolts it has. Loosen the 3 off and push it down and tighten them back up.
-
Refinishing standard rims
I sanded mine down with some fine sandpaper - got all the mess off them - then sprayed them with primer - then sprayed them with silver wheel paint - then lacquered them up - Cost about £20 for the paint and 2 afternoons to do them - they wont stand to abuse as well as properly finished rims but they are more than good enough to use - mine have syated good for about 6 months so far so its good value for money until you get them done proffesionally!

Radiator
Andy - you are correct - The Jap spec has one cooler on the passenger side and the UK spec has one on each side - Best is to replace the radiator cooler for an external one - then when you can upgrade to a UK manual Radiator........

turbo life
Dunno if they are original but 120,000 miles - same turbos as when I bought it 5 and a half years ago and it had 40,000 on the clock then.

Now I understand...
Heh Heh - first gear kick downs are superb!

Howling???
Yep - Goosehonk - its well documented and appears when an aftermarket induction kit is fitted. Only way to get rid is to change to BOVS or maybe brand new Recircs. Doesnt cause any harm. If your guage is going all the way to the end of the guage you probably have been 'upgraded' along the line - check the ECU to see if its standard or if it is check you may have had 'Boost Jets' installed - theres plenty of info on them and where they are.
