  1. i got myself a Breaker Bar from halfords as i didnt have airlines and it hasnt lost a battle yet.
  2. Cheers buddy! It was pretty awesome I must admit until I got gased.
  3. Well finally...It starts! Video to follow but having issue uploading it onto crappy photo bucket. This is a huge hurdle for me and my zed as i bought this engine not knowing anything other than what this Mexican guy in Canada had to say about it. Its not running 100% as i have a standalone ECU and im reaching the point where i need a 'pro' to do the next few steps. Next Thing is to Get it mapped and MOT'd, don't know which one first. Then Respray, and finally Interior, along with a huge amount of little jobs in between so yeah, video to follow.... PS: My videoing skills are below average and it doesnt have the majority of the Exhaust fitted.
  4. That's pretty cool, post some pics up of the setup! What you using the magnets for anyway if you don't mind me asking?
  5. A transformer and some sort of capacitor rectifier circuit. Brochure here, You just need to look around for something with your input specs and your output specs. http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/catalogs/c271/P244.pdf There are variable transformer units, but you will need a rectifier unit to get your DC output.
  6. My friend and his Girlfriend had one of these and unfortunately had to have it put down as it damaged its back when prancing around in the garden. She was a few years old, but they got another not long after. I have no idea how likely this is and don't mean to put a downer on getting a dog as anything could happen.
  7. hahahaa the 'your so old that...' quote
  8. that does look really good buddy, you spraying it yourself?
  9. Sweet zed, welcome buddy.
  10. I fitted the entire ES set to my car last year although not having driven it yet :( i could instantly tell that it will make it a borderline boneshaker but i knew that and want it as before it was like driving a galleon.
  11. does bodymech have any more eye candy from the recent work? ;)
  12. i would only ever arrange a viewing for a car to buy/sell over the internet, anything further is face to face with as mandy says...cash.
  13. haha awesome! would like to see the video..
  14. if the gallery was blocked you would notice a increase in oil pressure at a given rpm/temp as the same amount of oil would have to take fewer paths. Are your belts tight? Could the whirring be a tension pulley on the cam belt? Does the tapping go away when warm or given a bit of a throttle? Also do you know what oil temp sender you have? If so maybe order another one? Or get a multimeter on it as its only a thermistor, an increase or decrease in circuit resistance will change your reading so check all connections. There isn't really a solution here but hopefully gives you a way forward :)
  15. sweet! looking forward to seeing this take shape. you got anything else coming?
  16. i use the T1r's on my daily clio sport and im impressed. Got friends who brag about the pilot sport 2s. On my zed i have federal 595 RSR's which im yet to test.

i have the kit down from that set and its the best thing ive bought since i started playing with my zed. would deffo buy another if i needed it.
  18. Found this on piston heads. Shows what people traded in to get crushed in 2009 for the scrappage scheme. Look in the list and see if there are some cars you think shouldnt have been scrapped. 13 300zxs are in there, among audi quattros, lanci delta, a skyline GTR... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=30915
  19. Well i got the gauge and pressure relief valve fitted today and had some fun with it. Operating pressure of the pump is around 100psi. When i start using the steering and putting a load on it it varies but at full lock im getting around 500psi which starts to slow the pump down. I have a poor video where i show it starting up, me trying to show how loud it is at the drivers position (as its quite a high pitch whine) and then i get my pressure relief line in a tray to show operation after a few tweaks I must say the constant whine may not be for everyone but i have it on a switch and relay to allow me to turn it off when im cruising about and also fitting an engine driven pump in the engine bay was nearly impossible without chopping stuff up.
  20. I also like the fact that you can get away without any lights in the bumper but i didnt know what i would do with the holes left, as i wouldnt want to leave the housings in there. but again they are awesome they take the shine off the audi and bmws sidelights that blind everyone! Nice work again Andy, Hollings.
  21. they look awesome!! id love to know the asking price for a set of these, also how do they look with the sidelights on with dipped beam and also indicator and dipped beam?
  22. come over when you want baz...as long as im there lol. Steve, as youve been interested in the PS system i thought id plod along with that and hopefully have remedied my pressure relief system. This is my gauge and pressure relief valve. Gauge is 0-1000 PSI and relief valve is a 'light' hydraulic valve from flowfit with pressure values from 10-150 bar iirc. looks fairly 'industrial' but i bought a steering system that doesnt already have a relief valve built in but is variable speed instead. ooops. Ill get it fitted asap and give you some feed back. But i must say without being able to run my engine it makes it SO good to be able to turn the PS pump on with just batt power as this thing is a pig to steer with my Equips on.
