  2. Well it runs and is good i just have some niggles with the pressure relief but if im honest i have bigger problems at the moment such as why am i not getting a pressure reading from my oil gauge while cranking??? this is what i need to sort. haha

  6. This is my solid G/box mount. kinda had to make it while it was in position which was annoying, but it really is solid.. My 3 gauge pod pillar, as im sure many of you have seen before My gauges fitted And the wire set up behind, allowing it all plug and play. fairly normal but i liked it. I do have another gauge which is my water gauge which is going in my door vent.

  8. go lee! now we need to give him a push to fix his own car..
  9. yeah its pretty sweet the PS system except i now have a 110A alt to take the extra load and need to make a pressure relief system to stop it stalling the pump.
  10. Well and update but one without pics as i have no wifi to upload my pics yet (im at work if anyone is wondering how im posting this..) well apart from the fact i've relocated from telford to lincoln which has slowed my progress dramatically but now i have actually achieved some stuffs! i fitted the gearbox with the one piece prop jeff made (slightly shorter) and ran into a problem with my flywheel touching the bell housing so i couldnt turn it over. with the gearbox being slightly higher it made putting it on a right nightmare. i had a 'pre-ground' bellhousing but to be extra safe i shaved them down a little more and to find out it still touched was irritating. however i managed to sort this with the gearbox in situ as removing the gearbox would have damaged either flywheel or my stupidly expensive soft ally adapter plate. That is sorted now and i have put 4.7 liters of some fine oily stuff with more to go in which is good as i thought i had reduced the oil capacity too much, and even better...no leaks! shimming the starter motor was not fun at all as i found the lower bolt hole was all cross threaded and messed up which was irritating, but with a longer bolt it holds so thats good. i have a little vid of a dry crank just to hear it as its been a long slog up until now. This also means my tiny battery is powerful enough. My s2000 clutch master is doing well and is super small so no contact with anything other than the bulkhead. i do however have to space it away from the bulkhead a couple of mil as the pedal doesnt come back far enough to allow oil into back into the cylinder if i was to lose any. (adjustment thread is already at max) i haven't yet found a replacement for my fan as ive confirmed that it is way to big for the gap i have at the front of the engine. To do: wire in my lurvely innovate gauges and calibrate my widebands. connect my Link to the loom as load my random base map. connect fuel lines and attempt to start. One of the main things to do is get this heap booked in to bodymech, after seeing some of their work recently its really given me some motivation to get it to them. Apologies for no pics as its so boring just reading. Cheers
  11. Do this also for clearance with your TT flywheel and your N/a bell housing.. There are multiple points to grind and mine was already done as per some instructions however when i bolted it all together it touched the bit around the starter window not allowing me to turn the crank. unfortunately i had to do this in situ to prevent damaging my stupidly expensive ally adapter. bad times :(
  12. excellent work tom! i hope your happy with it buddy.
  13. like i said, people buy crap. if you buy right first time you wont have to try 2 others. there are plenty of high cfm elect fans out there which can produce equal cfm to the viscous. also people dont need to change their fan when running high power, so why would they? if it works dont touch it. however i cannot run viscous and others dont want to. ..back to ians original post, you want to change the viscous for an efan due to the noise? my efan sounds just as bad as the viscous and some dual setups have an irritating whine.
  14. i have a mk8 lincoln elect fan and this thing is huge! ...plus at stop start traffic when you need a fan, the elect fan is at full speed. people just seem to hate elect fans as the by crap and they dont produce anywhere near the desired cfm.
  15. yeah its martys old place, he is just over from me now so we can send love letters to each other. you should come down soon, and we can all hold hands. Yeah its still the z32 box but its been pushed back around 20mm so ive had to chop up my g/box mount and weld it myself. also had to shorten the prop. nothing too crazy no idea why but the gear lever now sits an inch over to the left...
  16. Yeah had a leak in it the other day but person I'm renting it from is all over it. Things I've done since last post are Ecu wiring loom Solid gearbox mount Custom one piece prop. Other casual stuff...
  17. been a while...... ive relocated to lincoln now hence the lack of posts. this is it in its new home :) posts to follow.
  18. better to ask than burn money and look like a plum.
  19. relocated to lincoln, my prop shaft has also arrived so first start in sight!
  20. more likely F1...everyone in work seems to be shocked by it.
  21. yeah if its the other way round the height adjusting housing fouls the third link.
  22. if you still have problems. i have a N/a clutch master cylinder you could have as you wont have varying pressures anymore by ditching the booster. get a stronger left leg too you wimp ;)
