  1. I dont think I will tbh. I quite like the transient nature of chucking up a small bit of chit chat about the car and moving on. Thats what Facebook does quite well. Bit of stuff. Chuck it up. Quick chat about it. Move on. Tomorro is a new day If this "journal " is a bit like the "garage" we used to have then look what happened to that. I was a bit disappointed when that vanished as I had a "garage" at the time. There is of course a place for longer detailed threads like I did about Bobgenies car years ago. The two concepts arent mutually exclusive. I think they were complementary.. I dont follow the thought process behind closing the forums busiest and most used thread.?? Im not complaining. Its not that important (to me anyway) Tomorro will be another new day. If I wake up and get dressed without any assistance then it will be another great day. Just like today has been.
  2. Thats one of the problems... its in the "subscribed" bit. With only 150 members thats not going to take off...IMO
  3. I think that sums it up very well Andrew. It was just a place to chuck up a quick snippet without any great effort. That is one of the things Facebook does well IMO.
  4. Where/what is that?? Remember you are talking to a non savvy user!!
  5. The end of Gaz's "what did you do" thread has left me feeling a tiny bit lost. Where do I post up a tiny bit of info about what I did to my car. It is just a pair of new tyres but it hardly seems worthy of starting a new thread. ????
  6. So....who else was there that still has a 300ZX?? You... Me... ????
  7. Thats a pity Joel as it did show the true scale of it all. Maybe someone can unearth a copy?? Maybe Ian Mac has a copy? Back then of course it was just a big meet, that was great fun and passed off without incident as I recall. None of us knew then how unique and unrepeatable it was. Or maybe Im just looking back with rose tinted glasses??
  8. Time for a trip down memory lane Lee. What about the video?? Has that been lost from forum history??
  9. The Ferrybridge meet and subsequent convoy along the M62 to Escape Wakefield was a unique moment in the history of 300ZX in the UK. And given the dramatic fall in car numbers since then it will remain unique. There were just over 50 cars IIRC. Very few of us who attended are still here in the club. It took a lot of organizing(I was part of that team). It remains one of the best days out in a 300ZX I have had in the last 14 years.
  10. Hi suchee. This is a Z32 owners club not a Z31 club. There are a few on here who also have Z31s I think. Nobody can tell you whether its repairable or not without looking at the extent of the corrosion. Panels for Z31s are very rare. Try looking on Zclub.net for some help. Even on there Z31 owners are few and far between nowadays.
  11. If it turns over then the starter is working.
  12. I had some tyres fitted to the refurbed wheels this week. Chinese wheels + Chinese tyres!! Two 265 35-18 rears + Two 235 40 18 fronts. Total cost delivered £200. Fitted and balanced locally for a few dollars more. Landsail on front Atrezzo on rear. What could go wrong??? Both have B B ratings which are "allegedly" no good as they are manufacturer assesed.:innocent: I dont own a 50b0hp supercar I dont do 125 mph down the Autobahn. I dont drive it like I stole it on the road. I might do 1000 miles a year on them early and late summer when I dont want to use trackday rubber on normal driving. In 3/4 years when they have gone a bit old and even harder I can sell em on Scumtree and get some new ones. They will be 10 times safer than Toyo R888R in the wet. NOTE to tyre police............... Yeah yeah I know wot ur gonna say:tt2:
  13. Im liking that colour.......a lot:thumbup:
  14. I will be zedding here next........................:yes: https://www.facebook.com/events/561834924156971/ Another opportunity to do some laps at Three Sisters:thumbup1:
  15. Indeed. I was looking forward to the event and catching up with you. I have spoken to Bob and he confirms that we made the right call.
  16. And Pete is equally happy to have thinned out his spares collection even further. It was good to meet mate. Just a pity the M1 accident made your day longer than it should have been.
  17. Thanks for the kind words guys. Although the Ultralights are just run of the mill Taiwan tat they do have some redeeming features.. They are just about the perfect size at 8.5 and 9.5 The offset at +35 is OK. Just a 10mm spacer on the front to get them to +25. They are very close to the weight of the Volk SE37. They have proved themselves to be strong enough to withstand some off circuit kerb hopping!. Used wheels fetch next to nothing money so no point in trying to sell them.
  18. Today I finished off a "quick" reurb on my Ultalight wheels. Now I have the set of Volk SE37 for track use I decided to keep the Ultralights and put some normal road tyres on them. This might make the car a bit more road friendly in wet weather. I'm bored of the shiny wheels look that these have. In addition the stainless trims have some damage due to over aggressive/excessive trackday "incidents" I have gone for a colour similar to the Volk SE37 wheels, but in a matt finish. Im sure that wont be to any/many peoples taste but it will fit in with the overall look of the car IMHO. It wasnt that quick a job either...:whistling: flat down existing paint. Satinise the stainless trims. Degrease. Prime in 2K grey primer. Single silver base coat. Bronze colour and added gold overtones. Finish in 2K matt lacquer.. Pics..............................
  19. None whatsoever. As already said fuel is vapourised before combustion so liquid temp is irrelevant. It gets cooled all the time as it circulates back to the tank which remains cool as its under the vehicle.. Cold air is whats needed as colder air can hold more fuel suspended in it.
  20. A pair of radio surround screw covers . L + R Complete and with all three pins/clips on each one. Nissan have recently increased the price dramatically. https://zcentre.co.uk/index.php/shop/300zx-z32-interior/300zx-nissan-radio-surround-top-screw-cover That makes a pair £28.80 +post. Mine are £15 for the pair with postage included.
  21. Not fitted yet. I have virtually the same ones on the car but they are ready for changing soon.
  22. I bought these recently.......................... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/for-Nissan-300ZX-Skyline-R33-2-5-GTS-T-Rear-Dimpled-Grooved-Brake-Discs/302148783420?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  23. I was a sole trader for over 20 years. I never had a PAYE job tho in that time. Advice............................... Insure you notify the tax authorities in advance. Keep 100% watertight records that will withstand scrutiny as one dodgy entry could result in a full and expensive IR /excise investigation. Inform your current PAYE employer to gain approval. Failure to do so could leave you open to dismissal due to conflict of interest.
