What is the best but cheapest brake upgrade?
Correct! also later J spec cars. Nissan dropped the ally caliper. ser 3 or maybe 4. I know my ser 4 Version S had cast calipers

at what point does a zed become a colander?
Highly unlikely. Nearly all the import Z32s we have came in under the 10 year rule..

I can see/understand now as to why it was so cheap! Quite shocking really for an N reg import.

What is the best but cheapest brake upgrade?
Im not going to disagree Richard ......BUT................................ The other people who dont come under your heading of "most people" find that the stock set up fades quickly after repeated "spirited" use on track and even on the public roads hence we go for upgrades. The "best value" is to use 350Z or Skyline calipers and matching discs. Superb OEM Brembo quality and significantly more stopping power under heavy repeated use. And no special brackets adaptors etc needed. Remind me to take you out in mine mate when we meet up again and you will see what Im on about.

And even more importantly that the lug spacing is the same as the Z32. Or else you will be going down the road of having adaptors made.

Flippin fedex duty/taxes charge
All couriers charge a handling fee. Varies between companies . parcel Farce is £8.50 I think. Fedex is around a tenner It will be in everyones "terms and Conditions" and probably on the website.
-
Flippin fedex duty/taxes charge
Its actually very straightforward. You take the TOTAL in dollars that you paid to the company in the US. Ie goods +shipping. You then convert that total in to pounds at the current rate. Then add 20% vat. Then add Fedex handling charge. That will give you the total cost of the items to your door. From that total you can then apportion a cost to each item. In my case I then add my mark up/profit to give me a selling price. Fedex are great to deal with. Fast efficient service that you can track/follow. accurate estimate of delivery day. No hold up in Customs on routine stuff. If you ring up the day after your parcel is delivered you can find out exactly the amount on their invoice.

Japspeed Gloves
Given that these are probably Chinese or Taiwan Tat like most of Japspeeds stuff I have been well pleased so far with them. Clearly a leather glove is not suitable for picking up fiddly bolts. I didnt buy them for that purpose. I got them for general garage work. lifting blocks cranks wheels tyres etc and to use in the pits on track days etc

Happy Birthday Noz

Corrugated roof
As said already not too expensive. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXPANDED-POLYSTYRENE-FOAM-PACKING-SHEETS-ALL-SIZES-/251006675975?pt=UK_Packaging_Materials&var=&hash=item3a7129ec07 Just the 25mm thickness would stop condensation. The 50mm will make it quite cosy!!

Corrugated roof
I have my similar roof lined with polystyrene sheet 50mm thick. I came in 8x4 sheets and was easy to put up and or cut to fit Some is wedged behind the roof supports. In other places I used expanding urethane foam to bond it in place. Its not flameproof of course so it could be a fire hazard. However in a private garage on private land not accessed by the public and with no employee liability either I felt the benefits outweighed the risk. Wasnt overly expensive either. The safer option as regards fire risk is Kingspan sheeets or similar but they are a lot more expensive.
