  1. Sounds like an echo in here .........................:biggrin:. See post following Eggs question for the answer!! Please pay more attention!!!!
  2. So another week is under way and we are making progress. Pass door all finished. Door pulls in the usual "function over form" mode. Likewise fuel flap release. Each door just locks on the key. no electrics in door at all. Interior wiring on sills and rear of car all clipped in place.. Interior mirror fitted Dash just dropped in but not fitted as cage welding will see it out again. Seats in for the final time. Footrest fitted. Its hidden behind a spaghetti mess of wiring which isnt my responsibility thank goodness. Up at the front end I have been doing a couple of jobs that are threatening to turn in to a nightmare... fitting the Aerocatches and the Z centre twin headlight system. Im not going to be defeated tho... just need to wait for longer setscrews to arrive for catches and take headlamps out(AGAIN!!!) for painting. So here are some pics.
  3. Yep! thats a result!:yes: Cheers guys:clap::clap:
  4. I need about four of them to support the splitter... as per picture. Anyone know where I can buy some??? Probably about 150/180mm long
  5. Stop boasting and keep this thread on topic:glare: :rofl::rofl:
  6. Well I would build the ultimate NA slicktop and I know two people on here would build the ultimate TT slicktop and then go "time Attacking" in them.......................................................................................................................................................... Oh hold on... We are already doing that..and its not " a bit" of fun.. Its "LOADS" of Fun:clap::clap: It might cost us a lot of money......................................................................................................................................................... Well actually we have already spent lots of money and none of us are finished yet. Earn it... spend it... earn some more... spend that ... etc etc:biggrin::biggrin:
  7. Wise words. Hardly anything is selling for good money. If there is no interest at the price you are asking then sadly there is only one conclusion to draw. You are clever enough yourself to know what that conclusion is without me telling you.
  8. There are many things in life where price is not the most important consideration. House buying is one of them. especially as you yourself have no experience in the matter. Buying a house for most people is a very big deal and will probably be the largest financial transaction you have ever made. You need to get it right. First Time!! So......................QUALITY of advice is paramount. As is QUANTITY. Dont get me wrong price counts. And to that end you should look in your own area for solicitors who do house conveyancing regularly. They will already have a feel for the market and area and will know about any special quirks in the area. You should get a quote listing all items separately. If anyone said to me "Ill do your house deal mate for £XXX all in" I would run away. I am an experienced house buyer and Im currently adding another renovation property to my portfolio so I do know what Im talking about. If you want any advice then just call(not Txt or PM) 07778 411568 I can copy you in on the quote my regular guy has given me for the forthcoming purchase. I wont discuss on here tho.
  9. Well we have it brought up regularly its just not time to do it again.
  10. Yep full multipoint weld in cage. Inc door bars. Not me doing that... Im just a journeyman(posh word for lackey)
  11. Well having done one door the other one will be less stressful, so I got stuck in today. Removing the side impact bars is a little nervy as they are close to the door skin!!!! Health and safety conscious members shold NOT look at my angle grinder. It was warm enough to paint inside it also with a little extra heat. I have also been doing somethig at the rear of the car but I cant show you it. Only Kane can see it from his "watchdog" staton at the garage door. So here are the pics.....................................
  12. get ready to answer some "Help" PMs.................:kiss:. I trust there is/will be a "IDIOTS/DUMMIES gude" to Windows 8???
  13. They are most likely from an early UK car. Those are the common "breakers"
  14. Custom stainless. Boxes are very small!!........ Its noisy. It has its own characteristic whine/growl/spit kinda sound. Quite addictive really. And in complete contrast to the deeper pulsing/throbbing sound of my custom NA system
  15. 2012 fees were £2500 for pro class and £2100 for club. for the season. Indidual event costs will include. Fuel to transport car/van/truck and race car . Eg. Brighton to Knockhill!!1200 miles at 22/24 mpg Overnight accomodation if you dont have a motorhome to tow with. Sticker pack. Transponder hire. Food on day and while travelling. Fuel for the race car. Remember we are talking less than 10mpg of premium priced fuel. Leaving out the costs of two full sets of tyres(wets/dry) to start the season there will be substancial replacement costs as they wont/dont last long at this level of power etc Brake pads n discs disappear at an alarming rate. Ferodo DS3000s or similar are very expensive. Regular oil/filter changes of Premium fully synthetic oil etc. And add in costs of failures/damage etc etc On event support will add an unknown amount depending on the level of support. Im very cheap if I go as support but then Im not very good either! an average "guesstimate for a club driver like James and Bob would be £500 per event. give or take So lets say 6 events. £3000 So over £5000 in the blink of an eye..... and rising Please note. The above figures are based on several people I know who have taken part and are not exact figures for any one individual, as any individual figures I may know are highly confidential.
  16. When you see the inside picture of the install you might want to change that statement!:glare: The slider is big enough to pass Bob a little "treat" IF he beats you at Time Attack. Apart from that he isnt being fed in car!! There is a case to be made however that the rear wing would look OK in the average McDonalds car park...... attached to a Corsa:laugh::laugh:
  17. And then J spec moved to Cast iron on later cars... Ser 4 deffo. Maybe ser 3??
  18. As per title. My PC is as ancient as I am . It runs Windows XP which can only be found in museums now I believe. So.... will this Acer laptop be OK for a simple old bloke like me. Its a "cheapie " I know but I had a look at it in Asda today and checked the online write up. Im happy. Us pensioners dont have a lot of money you know!!! Thoughts???????????????/ http://direct.asda.com/Acer-Aspire-E1-Laptop---15.6ins---Intel-Pentium---500GB-HDD/000553168,default,pd.html
  19. Thanks for the offer. I will if I need it Paul. Pop down anyway and have a look. The window set is from http://www.lexan-windows.com/window-kits-windscreens/nissan-300-zx-swb-lexan-full-window-kit.html. Although we havent had the side quarters but we have added the "pro slider" kit. The original patterns were done for Jaffa/James on this forum. i dont know if the do sets for the "family" version 300 tho:chris: i know you would mate. Ta for that. likewise znut/Bri.... the thought is appreciated and I know its sincere. As said before this is a great club. My mate Steve is probably coming on Sat so ill be sorted. Thanks Noz. TOTB is deffo on for 2013. Im hoping that funding/dosh will be available for a full Time Attack season but Im not paying so its not my call. I know how mind blowingly expensive it is tho with last years involvement. The Kyle Puckett engine is due to be installed after Im finished my shell work. The rolling shell will go from me to get a full FIA compliant weld in cage fitted before engine install tho.
  20. So in the absence of any helpers ATM I moved on to fitting the first side polycarb window. Bob and me had discussed a preliminary "how to" method but I have been putting it off for a few days, given the cost and the timescale to get another one if it were to go pear shaped on me:blink: Today was the day and although I dont normally do "excited" over project work Im feeling close to that tonite. I know self praise is no praise at all BUT I think I have done a good job and IMO they look "the business". Although I appreciate most of you wouldnt want them in your car. Any judge for yourselves cos here are the pics............................
  21. ACE!!! This gets my vote as "Best Post of 2012" Well done.
  22. Oh thats where you are hiding!! Can you PM me yer contact details
  23. A member on here did his in matt black using aerosols. It looked absolutely appalling. IMO Total Matt black does nothing for the shape /look of the car. IMO Mikey liked it of course.. so each to their own.
  24. They are all neutered from RGT kennels before re'homing. He came with a months insurance so we need to look in to that. Any info/tips greatly received. Just PM me.
