  1. Well let me be the first to offer my congratulations on your appointment. Im sure you will be a good force in the fight against evil posts. Well done mate :D May the Delete Button be with you!!!
  2. Yep, I did an NA last year that had been here the same... six weeks. Makes a huge difference. The stuff Im stripping is off a Jap spec too, but it had been here a number of years.. hence some rust. Overnite in the acid will return it to as new condition tho. Its not deep in the metal only surface. Likewise the subframe, just a light blast with sand will clean it. Then on with the Hammerite.
  3. Yeh?? I was going to buy it "cheap" but it suddenly "vanished". :slap: Before I bid!
  4. Stripping everything off a rear subframe and then dismantling the front suspension and crossmember. Oh Joy of joys! Hard to imagine a more uninspiring job? Feck me ...some of them nuts were well tight. some of the smaller suspension members are now in the acid bath over nite to de-rust/strip them. Looks like the main rear subframe will need to go off to the shotblasters . Looking at the complete Polybush kit I see it contains some totally useless items.. Like rear anti roll bar bushes with the wrong internal diameter... Hmmm.. :slap: good job it was cheap. Maybe I will do something a bit more interesting tomorrow, like stay in bed
  5. Vat registered traders MUST charge VAT on all goods AND services sold. They must however when requested provide a VAT receipt as Mike says. It will have the sellers VAT number on it so you can check up to see if it is bona fide. A VAT registered purchaser would of course be able to reclaim the vat if the purchase was for use in his vat registered business. End users of a transaction when they are not vat registered always cop it for the final vat amount. Thats how "Tony n Gordon" get their money!!!!
  6. Shocking news. My condolences to his family. Pete
  7. Yep its brill........ :hyper: . Shame its sitting in the garden tho.. Its supposed to go INSIDE da mota. :nono: :slap: Take it all to bits and do it again  Oh and dont forget them pipes ;)
  8. A 240Z eh?? i wonder what gave you the idea about gettin one of them ????
  9. The stock rear spoiler is held on by two threaded studs and six plastic clips. If you dont undo the nuts on the studs then NOTHING will happen no matter how hard you pull. except you will fook the spoiler AND the tailgate. It is also sealed round originally by adhesive tape. IF it has already been off once before you have to consider the posibility that it may have been re -applied with Sikaflex or similar, in which case you will need to use "cheese wire " to saw thru that. If your spoiler is beyond re use and you just want a stock replacement then I have one available. CAREFULLY removed, flatted down and primed . Ready for colour coat and re fixing
  10. Well its fixed to the inner part of the bumper almost directly in front of WHERE YOUR AIRCON CANISTER USED TO BE!!! :headvswal I suppose you might refer to it as the bumper grill. Americans?? Who needs them ?? LOL! :x:
  11. Jon, just follow the wires from the plug which is just beside the air con cylinder. Call me if you cant locate it.
  12. TBH I didnt know there were any alternatives ! Who makes them? Where? How much? etc.
  13. I had a price from http://www.heatedwindscreens.com, 102 pounds incl vat, plus delivery. I have dealt with Ricky on other screens. He is very competitive. And an honest trader, but the screens he sells are not OEM Nissan. IIRC they are made in a large heavily populated country near Japan :o
  14. You have all missed the important stuff in your rush to condemn it Its only been here 3 years. One owner(the one who is selling) Its metallic black and manual and is not used in the winter. Decent wheels, exhaust and air filter. FFS what more do you want for £1500?? Just learn to look at cars properly. The vinyl graphics peel off. The spoiler unbolts(and some fool will buy that on Chav-bay. Likewise the neons. unbolt -sell. So whats left then.... A tidy one owner rust free manual NA in a good colour that doesnt appear to have been abused with some nice wheels. £1500 + a bit?? Whats the problem?
  15. Simple job really. Bit of a sod lying on yer back under the car doing it.And you need the whole car front and rear up in the air really You might need help with a puller to remove the old bearing. Much easier job on a lift.
  16. I have UK spec(ie blue tint) screen available for sale. As you are not subscribed you will need to call me on 07778 411568 for details. If you cant claim on insurance then Im sure some local to you windscreen fitter will do a "cash" job for you.
  17. I wasnt!! I just said (jokingly) mind that lorry! Then at the end I said "nice ride you got that about right " LOL You werent going THAT fast!!! :wack:
  18. Im not sure how you make $165 into £50?? Oh and dont forget the potential Vat, Shippers UK handling charge etc ON TOP
  19. An interesting day indeed. I have never driven on a track before in all my 40 years of driving, so it took me most of the morning to find out what to do! A big thanks to the Dark Warrior for riding shotgun with me and pointing out the way. i settled into it better after lunch and was pleased by the comments from Skyline Dave, Manta V8 and MickyB who all came round with me. 120mph was Ok considering we only got half the main strait to use. Organization was not good and was verging on the chaotic mid morning. Also disapointing I thought was the small numbers of public up for a ride in the selection of 300s available. Adds another dimension to my motoring portfolio to go with drag racing, Special stage rallying, grasstrack racing and one short oval hot rod meet. As usual ... good to meet up with fellow MidlandZ memberZ and a few southerners too!!!
  20. No doubt about it Forum Member Stricker is a top bloke on here. Not only did he have a SWB pass window sitting about that I needed BUT ... He brought it all the way up from Kent to Nottingham today on a personal/family visit.. then rang me to say he was in Nottingham so I could go and pick it up.!! Thanks Paul.... and thanks to your missus for not putting it in the bin when it was stuck in her garden.   Kinda made my day that has. Thanks too to Boomin33 for his offer of a window too. (but I only needed one!!!)  But do let me know about that other item Im after :D 300ZX.co.uk. Great club....Full of great members! .
