Fan shroud (TT), engine undertray and passenger side targa handle surround.
Hi guys looking for some bits. As above I'm after; TT fan shroud, preferably complete with lower portion. Engine undertray. Not the one under the bumper but the one that sits under the engine itself. Targa handle surround, for passenger side. That's the little oval piece that sits behind the handle. Also looking for a pair of good condition front lower arms and the little brace that sits under the gearbox but not deseperate for those.

Rust inside the rear arch & brake pipes.
I find the cup style fine wheels ideal, stubborn bits require a twisted knot wheel though. Thankfully they are cheap from Screwfix/toolstation. The old crap goes EVERYWHERE though doesn't it. I've got a bit left to do down the front part of the floor pan I've been putting off.

# 4 - what am I doing? Little build thread!
You did say eventually...I've heard good things about Protune too. The guy I used isn't a tuner he just has a RR, I was just suggesting it as a way to check the AFRs on the Chip you using to kick off, they can vary as you know (although speciality zed ones are good and I'm looking to get one myself) and as far as I know you don't have a wideband. Rather than Nistune have you thought about going with a full standalone Ecu? Considering how much money is wrapped up in your car already a stand alone would offer greater safety features, some offer Traction control, Lambda feed back etc. Not something I can justify myself but a high end car such as yours may be worth the expense.

I think you want to be throwing some 2.5" intercooler piping and intercoolers at it as well for 450. Stock tubs certainly have their merit but they have to breath or they heat soak easy and become useless. Most of the guys making big power on stock turbos have full breather mods a custom map and are running E85. I'm running a stock long block, with turbo back exhaust with a generic chip and 16psi. There is fuel head room left but it was getting too hot when we dialling the boost in. Anyway it put down 308rwhp iirc, about 370bhp. I think you'd make about 400 on that set up, getting that extra 50bhp will require the custom map and the breather mods. If you want I can hook you up with the dyno I used to check my AFRs, he doesn't do remapping but will do a power run taking AFR for pretty cheap. Not too far from you either, Salisbury way.

450bhp on stock turbos at 17psi?

Probably be about 20kg lighter due to 5 less layers of paint! Surprised the window trims still fit.

What did you do to your zed today?
My stock horns broke years ago  replaced with some plastic thing, light weight ;)

What did you do to your zed today?
Yeah, even the early stock ones are two tone.

Nice one Russ, where did you get the 99? You planning on a spoiler? I always think the LWB needs one to help balance it out.

Drain plug half way up? Sure that's not the fill plug youngen?

Blonde Moment 2
The coil pack is directly on top of the plug, the plug is in the centre of the roof of the cylinder if you like. So where ever the coil pack is the Cylinder it works with is directly underneath. There's videos on YouTube etc that show how an internal combustion engine like that found in cars works, that may help you a lot.

Japfest?
JAE is most likely what your thinking of Art. Japfest was normally held at Castle Combe near Bath. It's moved from that venue to the midlands now, silverstone I believe. - - - Updated - - - Best get on with then, this time last year it was sold out.

Japfest?
Who's region is it in now? Not in the south anymore.

It's the shaft connection Ali, no washers there. The lines did have new copper crush washers though yeah.

Rather annoyingly when I fitted this engine last year the steering rack started leaking, the seal below the column knuckle. Maybe there's something I did wrong? It hasn't been an issue though and I thought it had stopped. Upon firing the engine today I discovered it's drained the pot and rack over winter. So looks like that's a job at some stage. So options? Reseal? Replace? Bearing in mind I have no hicas could it be wise to switch to an NA rack, pump etc. I seem to recall the NA rack has a slightly larger steering angle?

Out of the woodwork
Indeed. 500+hp Zeds aren't common now either, let alone 12 years ago. I'm not going to go as far as shouting BS but there is a whiff in the air.

So true. We all know where's one parked in a field or garage rotting. I know of a GTO and an XJS with the same fate.

Car fires are not nice !
Having seen about a dozen cars burn to the ground I'd agree with him. The tyres pop which is quite loud but I've never seen a fuel tank go. One thing I will tell you though is the heat is unreal and the smell, well you won't forget it. What does go well is a gas canister on a fire which you then shoot, boomshakalacka! corse you don't do things like that though cos it's incredibly stupid.

They all have problems, bursting into fire with regularity is quite a big issue though.

Front lower arms.
Yeah, some do have that. What I'm referring to though is extra steel sheet welded into the underside of the arm itself. Maybe it was a diy mid or something. Not sure where I got the idea from. I'm looking for ones that aren't rusty, mine have some rusting on the underside which could be cleaned but I'm trying to reduce labour times. If you could look that's great.

Front lower arms.
Cheers Jeff, wonder where that idea came from then. Anyone got a pair in good condition?

Flicking back to page one really helps, I'm constantly having to remind myself of the initial priorities. My mind is changing on a few things, with time an finances changing the order of things. I've definitely got side tracked here and there, what I mean there will quickly become obvious.
