can some one help with MAF ..
you must leave it without power for a set amount of tiome 20 minutes or so, to reset the ecu. i dunno if this affcets the maf on a zed 100% but when it broke on my vauxhall i had to do this without doing it it made no difference, and obviously we all know that the ecu needs to relearn settings after poor ones have been used. worth a go isnt it.

what the horn!?
ive found a pair of wires and a single one that goes directly to the horns. how can i check that there uis a feed to the hron and that its the horn tahts at fault the fuse was fine.

why are the horn son zeds so crap and tempremental, mine was shagged last mot so it was replaced no its buggered again, theyre always bad sounding and pathetic, but why do they break, it now doesnt make a sound, i assume its teh actual horn? not a dodgy switch? how can i check whats common etc.....

What is and isn't a sports car?
the other question is what stops it being a sports car and makes it a muscle car. we hear the term jap muscle car banded about a fair amount these days, i certainly wouldnt call a shortie a muscle car. my lwb is listed as a hatchback on the insurance! previous insuarnce it was a coupe. what about corvettes etc? thats another question...

yeh but if you dont do it centyrally you will cause yourself a headache. its best done with a pillar drill off the engine. unless someonne whos good at it is local and willing to help your best bet to to pull the tub and get a local engineering firm to do it fopr you wont cost the earth.- Engine rebuild complete - BIG THANKS to Jimmer

ha murt! in response to the south coast livers.... grrr. you think its bad coming down for a weekwnd and dealing with their crap, you wanna try living here. then you start to realise, some things firstly none of them are from here, secondly none of them actually live here full time, and thirdly they are all idoits! the more money the less common sense and the ruder they seem to become. its a lovely place to live down here in the winter when no holiday making holiday home owning puff puff dickheads are about. soon as it gets to about this time of year we dont dont bother going out and about cos you cant get anywhere. we cant afford a house because they are all owned by rich london commuters and second home owners. :( i work for these people alot doing their pools some are fine, most are awful. its just it takes some of them longer to throw their toys out the pram than others. wouldnt be so bad if they actually brought some work and money with them instead of just driving the prices up and meaning theres no real work round here. i love where i live and grew up i just cant stand the 10% of people who make it seriously annoying!- power steering fluid leak
pump is rebuilt the problem was one of the o rings that is sealing the resivoir feed, bit a fiddly job to take the thing apart, and put it back toghther so now all ive gotta do is put everything back and top up the fluid. :D if only it was as easy and quick to put back as it was to say.- Electrical nightmares

agreed, however lets just check some silly obvious things. the over drive button is definatly engaged isnt it? your not mistaking 2 for third and your over drive is off? is there enough fluid in the box? i drove mine to work once got on a dual carraige way and it went very quickly upto 70 with the revs up and then continued with the revs up, i paniced a little before realising i had it locked into 2nd on the box. there is a diagnostics procedure for the box, worth trying. id say its probally on its way out, honestly do what everyones doing and convert to manual if you hav ethe cash as the auto is crud. and way too complicated, the service manual section for the auto box is about 5 times as much if not more than the manual.- 500hp Exhuast restrictions
its not so much how muc air can be moved in one go but how smoothly this process occurs. this is where the difference between quality and cheap arises, how the bends are bent some are simply rolled this reduces the diametere in the corners causing restrictions. this is the sort of thing you are paying the money for. that and the material and welding quality. i would likly think the 2.5 inch system is good for about 600 hp. as a guess dont forget thats a 2.5" exit per 3 cyldenrs. the back box shape can also have a bearing on the process, single exits process gas easier than twin exit. (per back box) in reality you probally better off looking at your maifolds etc rather than fixating on the exhaust itself, another point worth noting is that without enough back pressure within the system it will effect your torque and affect spool up times just as equally as too restrictive.- 0.4 bar boost
i dont think they are "fixable" there was a kit about that stifened to spring to prevent early losses. however most people opt to either replace with a known good working recirc or to input a wastegate that wastes to atmosphere. dump valve or what have you. - 1st 300zx
